Needed a smaller bag for the commute to work on the motorcycle. This is perfect I think. Thanks OP!

    Thanks 👍

Half the ozbargain community who lock 7.11 fuel reside there, better get in quick ;)

    • -1

Will this hold 13.5 litres of 7.11 Slurpee?

  • +1

    What was the regular price?

    • +2

      Around the $60 mark.

    • +2

OW had it for $39 recently and $60 before that.

    • It was $89

It's a basic backpack. For that price you can get a more functional backpack

      https://www.crumpler.com/au/content/

      • Not bad for $29 and rather normal looking for a Crumpler. Can't buy anymore backpacks without at least one external water bottle holder however.

  • Good find, ordered for pick up colection. Thanks op!

  • Saw 5 at officeworks Sydney

  • -5

    thanks got one.

been looking for a reliable backpack with lifetime warranty

    • +1

I don't think Crumpler have lifetime warranty any more. I purchased a couple of bags from them a few months back direct and when I was speaking to a staff member they said that they no longer offer this as of July I think it was… It is possible I am wrong though…

      • I was told by staff that the ones with the new logo were 5 years and the old logo were lifetime.
I recall seeing the tags on a bag last week that explicitly stated 5 years as the warranty period.

      • jansport bag still hv lifetime warranty only if u order from their website

  • Thanks OP - bought one.

  • Someone please help me decide between black or green.

    • Get black.

    • +3

Buy one of each, cut them into strips and sew them back together making black and green striped backpacks!
      You're welcome!

    • +1

It's more of a camouflage green anyway which I reckon looks good for travelling and on the streets compared to black which might fit you fashion sense more.

Absolutely mix and match if you want, I'm sure it'll look interesting but watch out the warranty.

      • Yeah I agree. The green looks much better in person.

  • +1

Got one @ northmead. Thanks. They got about 3-4 left both green and black.

  • +1

I am dying!!! I bought this on sale from crumpler 2 weeks ago for $51.00 and thought I got a good deal.

    • +5

Buy the Officeworks backpack, send it back to crumpler. Win.

    • Hi Quint, are they good quality bags?

      • yes need review please

        • All bags gone ha??

        • It's pretty good I guess for the price. Would have liked the material to be a little thicker but overall I haven't really used it to go anywhere or carry anything in it yet so can't give an reliable review. Sorry :( Like most here I only bought because I thought it was cheap. Now I feel ripped off lol

          • -1

@QuintessentiaLs: It's all good, when you see there are so many upvotes, you know it is a good deal :)

For under $30, you can't really buy a quality backpack, most ppl pay above $50 - 100 for a good one.

            • @Yaren24: Personally, love this one I bought ($19.95)
              https://www.bagworld.com.au/shop/detail/high-sierra-impact-b…

It's not the 'crumpler heavy material' quality, but it's also 0.4 KG, 23L and has survived a heap of abuse (has a drink pocket etc). There's no real padding beyond some thin stuff on the shoulder strap. Personally swapped my crumpler for this because the crumpler I had was like 2kg empty due to all the padding.

      • +6

Having owned several bags from Crumpler, I will say that this is decidedly lower end of their scale. Price wise, it is also lower end with an RRP of $89. Thank being said, it is still better than some Herschel bags I've seen that retail for $120!

This is of a thinner material than other Crumplers I own. I suppose I'd describe it as their basic backpack type thing.

As an aside, because I was rummaging through Hornsby looking for these, on quick touch and inspection, some of their generic J. Burrows stuff in OW are actually pretty darn good. Just a bit bigger than what I was looking for.

Lastly, Hornsby still had (1) Black and (1) Green on the shelf at closing today - though their system might show 4 units.

        • +2

Agreed, I rushed out to my local OW after seeing this ozb post but was quite disappointed with the quality (perhaps I had unrealistic expectations given the price).
I'm a sucker for crumpler stuff and already own multiple camera bags, backpacks, messengers, pouches - this one was definitely at the basic end of things, with the material feeling less thick & sturdy than other ranges. What really stopped me from grabbing one was seeing how thin the padding on the straps were

  • Thanks so much, just did click and collect and got one easily.

  • -4

My order is ready for collection

  • Thanks grabbed one in the plastic still

  • Not everyday we can get Crumpler for $29

  • Around 5 left at East Perth

  • black and now green are not available online anymore

  • +1

couldnt find proper reviews on google or youtube.

  • +1

    13.5 L :o these are tiny.

    • as long they are cute

    • +1

I specifically bought it because of its size. It probably won't work as a school bag, but I find that it's a good size for commuting…

  • Bought one, cus why not…definitely would not pay retail for these things

  • Is it very tiny on a guy?

    • It's only 13 litres - that's a tiny pack. Don't know about the fit of the harness though.

  • For those who missed out the bag, here is a deal from Catch you might find it helpful.

    https://www.catch.com.au/product/crumpler-17l-private-zoo-ba…

    • Still heaps of stock available for the Crumpler nationwide.

      • Thanks boss

  • Just bought a customary barge deluxe….but its massive…need…another….Crumpler….!

  • Still in stock at Five Dock and a few other stores for those in NSW.

  • Can we all wear this to our next ozbargain meetup?

  • Clicking on link gives me : "Something went wrong."

I guess it's all sold out?

    • yup, around 14 hours 46 min ago

    • Plenty of stock nationwide!

  • I just picked one up in SA Marion store. Nephew bday present done, thanks OP.

  • $29, great bag for lunch.
Quality and durability is there, but this is no XTR3M3 HIKING BAG

  • +1

I don't know, compared to the old ones these don't look anywhere near as durable. Everything looks like it's got less stitching, less fabrics and thinner materials. The content is also quite a compact small bag so don't expect to fit much in there.

This might explain why they're now being sold in officeworks at lower prices (used to be hard to get a crumpler outside a crumpler store or a brand name store) and with less of a warranty.

Still, at $29 it should be worth it! Thanks OP.

  • three of the green ones on the shelf at south melb . look pretty cheap. the j burrows bags there are much nicer

  • Just picked up mine in black from Greenacre NSW. be warned, it is small. Very very small.

    • Do you like it?

      • +1

You might look funny wearing the bag if you're over 6foot.

        • I am only 5"9, so yeah small guy should be alright

  • -1

I got one. I like it, but my expectations of a cheap backpack aren’t high to start with. I actually like that it’s small, as my current backpack is huge and too large for my daily needs.

  • By the way the bag is still available for click and collect from the South Melbourne store.

  • -1

collected mine and returned it immediately. Does not worth the $29 IMO!

  • I CC and returned as well. Quality really ain't great, I'd rather top up for something nicer or pay less for something similar.

    • wow… imagine some other people paid $80 on those.
hmmm.. did the staff gave you weird look because collecting and returning on the spot?

      • I think based on what I'm hearing, they had a sudden 'restock' of these bags ready to go under the counter, with more stock to come!

      • Funny story… they understood the bad quality and did the refund with no dramas BUT:

When I ordered the black online that morning, I also called the store and asked them to hold a green bag for me because I wasn't sure which colour to get. When I got there that arvo, they'd lost the held green one and so when I returned the black bag, they must have been confused and (un)helpfully ordered the green one for me as a CC… without me realising, they're able to charge my card from the previous CC order. So now I have to go back and "return" the green CC because they can't process a refund for it without me physically being there.

Double sadness :( Charged twice with nothing to show and an extra trip back.

    • +1

What's their return process like? Is it easy, no questions asked?

      • Yup, no problemo. Their published returns policy allows change of mind within 30 days provided that its returned in the original condition, so they couldn't have rejected it when I didn't even take the thing off the counter. The only annoying part of the process would be that refunds are in-person only, according to the store I was at. They don't have an online cancellation/refund or 3-day hold and refund policy like a few other places.

  • Thanks Op! C&C two bags in my local officeworks.

  • +4

I picked mine up today. I was after a small backpack for a 13inch laptop to take to and from work. This works perfect.

There isn't much padding in straps but it should be ok with a light pack.

I think it's suited for those with smaller frames or women. I think it's a great size.

    Thanks op

  • +1

picked up mine last night. very happy with it as a working commute bag!

  • My order was cancelled by them -and refund process immediately.

  • +2

In my opinion the bag is quite crap for $29… i too did a click and collect, opened the paper office works bag and thought what tha… this is shittier than an asian $2 bag off ebay.
Haven't gotten around to returning it yet.

    • yeah I don't get what the big deal is with this overpriced brand tbh

    • Returned and refunded! end of story!

    • Rly? I haven't CC yet, but if it is really bad quality how come there are so many ppl buying it?

      • +1

Because we buy first think later.

        • Did you like it? bro

          • @Yaren24: Im keeping it. It's light and good quality zipper and materials. People complaining of thin, agree, but good. Maybe a so so deal for $29, but if $20 I'm sure people will call this super bargain. But again, not often you can get Crumpler for $29.

            • @CyberMurning: I am glad to hear that, I bought the green colourway, it looks really dope, should be able to pack XPS13 and a bottle of water, and some paper. More than half of the ppl here complained about this product, but still got some many upvotes, I think I never bought any branded backpacks, only buy it from Ebay works out to way cheaper, just quality not so good. Thank you

              • +1

@Yaren24: Gee. You completely got it wrong. Here we see a deal, people who own Crumpler will know this is cheap for it. So people vote and buy. It doesn't mean the item is good because most people have not own this exact model yet. Can't tell the real item from photo.

It's different from for example a deal of microSD card. You can tell from vote and number of people buy.

                • @CyberMurning: I am collecting mine next week, will see, I might have to return it if…

                • @CyberMurning: But honestly 40cm bag is pretty good for light travelling. Can't go wrong

            • -1

              @CyberMurning: $9 today

  • +1
  • Those who bought at $29. They're now $9, which is a more accurate price for the quality of it.

    • Where did you see them?
