iPhone XR $1,184.99 (64GB) and $1,249.99 (128GB) @ Costco (Membership Required)

181

I've been looking at iPhone prices and Costco is currently the lowest price for those who already have a membership.
Not sure if Officeworks will price match this but it will definitely make it easier once Costco bring their online store to AU (they've announced it recently).

Bought the 128gb XR for the wife on the last Mobileciti sale for $1159. Aus stock with normal Apple warranty.

I bought from DJ when they had 10% off and used all gift cards from AMEX deal.

      • Damn when were DJs 10% off?

        • It was around Xmas, my wife got Dyson Airwrap for $10% less as well. It was online

Here is a hack for affording an iPhone

    • Looks like a good deal to me

    • Great idea. Also why does one need 10 fingers. Too much.

  • So for the 128Gb, just $50 off compared to apple's own store? I guess a saving is a saving…

$10 more if you include Costco's membership.

not saying if this is a good deal or not, but if the membership was the deal breaker for you, you can always get 100% refund on your membership at anytime no question asked from Costco.

        • So that means I can have the membership for almost a year, cancel and get 100% of my membership costs refunded?

          • @Cheap Bastard: According to their website

            RISK-FREE 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE
On Membership: We will refund your membership fee in full at any time is you are dissatisfied.

      • Title clearly says Costco Membership Required, this is a deal if you got Costco's membership.

OW don't price match Costco, because they consider Costco to be a "warehouse"

    • Ow do providing u can show them the price iv done it with mouses and keyboards

    • +1

      I think you mean wholesale

  • +3

Better to wait for price drop further more, especially iPhone XR, in China some Chinese authorized reseller already dropped price by 10% to 15% permanently on XR, 8 and 8 plus.

Can they hurry up? My wife's birthday is in less than 10 days.

Have you ever had an Xr in your hand? It's huge and heavy, I'm not sure this would be the best gift for your wife

        • +1

She currently has a 4 year old 6 Plus. I believe this is smaller and lighter than that.

I haven't held it though. Good idea. I should check it in store.

@merill: i upgraded my wife's 3 weeks ago also from 6 plus to XR and it's been great aside from all the new iOS gestures she's had to learn and 'side button' instead of 'power button'.

Roughly same screen size, same display tech but smaller body, XR is thicker tho. Overall it's not as bad as reviewers say it is.

          • @merill: I'm in the same situation as @merill, wanna upgrade the wife's 6s+ to xs max for her birthday, but hard to find decent xs max deal …
            Does Costco sells xs max?

            • +1

@Leo88th: Yes they do sell XS Max as well.

              • @merill: thanks, will have a look this week.

Are you saying she’s not used to huge and heavy?

        • My wife likes holding things in her hand that are big and heavy.

    • Yes, there may be a large surplus of XR stock that they need to try a clear

    • Already happened: iPhone reseller Suning is giving out 128 GB iPhone XR at 5,799 yuan ($858), cutting down the price by 1,200 yuan ($178) from the original price of 6,999 yuan ($1,036).
Because iPhone X seires RRP in China is btw 26-29% higher than in US market, Apple treats ppl like that, no surprise what Apple gets back from ppl.

      • 5799 yuan is $1180 AUD around

  • Is this possible for the ones who have registered for the Domayne AMEX deal?
Assuming you have two cards, purchase two $750 vouchers and receive $300 rebate.

    Purchase
    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/apple-iphone-xr-128gb-black.… for $1299.

Effectively have spent $1200 and still have $201 voucher left to use.

Or is it too early on a monday for me to think straight?

    • $1299 + $201 gift card - $150 - $150
Ending up $999 for a XR with $201 GC handy.

    • Costco does not accept AMEX

  • Was thinking of the XR but since looking at how clear and colourful the XS screen was, I'd rather wait for a 10% deal on eBay as soon as the 5% finishes.

    • XR resolution: 828 x 1792 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~326 ppi density)

      XS/XS max resolution: 1125 x 2436 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~458 ppi density)

      X resolution: 1125 x 2436 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~458 ppi density)

But battery wise, XR has the bigger battery

      XR: Non-removable Li-Ion 2942 mAh battery

      XS: Non-removable Li-Ion 2658 mAh battery (10.13 Wh)

      XS max: Non-removable Li-Ion 3174 mAh battery

      X: Non-removable Li-Ion 2716 mAh battery (10.35 Wh)

Went in store and tried the XS and XR. I have a new found respect for my iPhone 7. It's so slim and light weight compared to this.

Pretty sure Apple will sell the lower weight when they launch iPhone 11.

  • I finally bought the iPhone X with the Optus/Harvey Norman offer. Costs $73 a month for 24 months with 30GB data.
