No free offset, no deal for me.

Also people should consider that $800 might not cover all your fees from switching providers.

OP: how often do citi jack their rate from when you sign up?

  • I have used obtainfinance before and happy to share my experience. I found Michael Short reliable and professional. I would highly recommend for a quick and easy refinance if anyone is considering this deal.

  • Why can't we do this directly with citibank instead of a random broker?

you can try walk in and ask for 3.55

let us know how it goes

$800 refinance bonus is very average. And no free offset account as mentioned above

    • Any suggestions of a better refinance offer?

      • Bankwest has $1500 rebate.
3.72% with $395 annual fee, 9 offsets and credit card.

        • Why would you ever need 9 offset accounts? 1 would be enough?

          • @[Deactivated]: Multiple accounts for each borrower. 1 transaction and 2 savings account for each borrower equals 6 offset accounts.

People like the option to choose.

        • The higher rate and 395 annual fee are rough and discount the benefits of the rebate, don't they? It's obviously a different product for different needs, but I don't need a bundled credit card or that many offsets. That's a lot of offsets!

@somethingguy: It's a great rate and product. Bankwest offers up to 9 offsets, just part of their offering. Some lenders only offer 1.
The above loan is greater than $500,000 where Bankwest is greater than $200,000.

Most people don't need an offset account, redraw is more than enough for most.

Is the 500K a single mortgage? If I bring multiple mortgages across? Not a fan of broker services and Citibank is not customer owned (see royal commission). Ongoing service and relationship would be non existent. Further more take these rates to a customer owned bank or credit union and they will do their best to beat it.

Any customer owned bank or credit union you can recommend?

      • Try bankfirst at 3.64% for their basic home loan

        • This deal by OP seems to be lower than your best rate without offset.

          What's your thought?

          • @[Deactivated]: It's a suggestion to the previous comment. Not the best rate.

            • @mortgagebroker: Do you think this deal by OP is a good deal if you don't need offset?? I havne't seen any lower

              • @[Deactivated]: It's a great deal.
3.59 from ubank and HSBC (Dont need $500,000 or more borrowing plus less or no fees)
3.49 from well home loans without offset
3.49 from greater bank with offset ($395 annual fee)

    • You will always get lower than advertised rates if you ask and you are bringing a 500k mortgage with this deal. Greater Bank, Newcastle Permanant are good. Regional Australia Bank is the best bank in Australia for it's contribution to communities and always tries to get the best rate also. No shareholder means they exist for the customer. Just my 2 cents. People have a longer relationship with banks then they do with married partner so choose wisely.

OP, why not provide a transparent fact sheet that outlines all the important details. Any ongoing fees? Other fees? Discharge fees? Etc.

Call CBA first. It seems they are always happy to match offers from other 'major' banks and lending institutions for customers with excellent credit rating.
