  • Review here. If the quality is there then these are amazing prices for 55" and 65" TV's, especially for Samsung.

    Good price OP!
This is ~$100 less than Costco Aussie Day sale price ($890)

    • -2

Never tried it myself but have heard costco have been known to price match FWIW.

      • They dont

        • +3

          SkinnERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • +4

@miq: Am I out of touch?
No! It's the Ozbargain'ers who ate wrong!

  • can I price match with Domayne?

    • They declined and said, "Unfortunately, we would not be able to make this match as the Products with pricing set significantly lower than the recommended retail price or market value."

      • +14

what a load of BS. so JB is selling at a loss? haha
what's the point of price match if they refuse to price match because the competitors price is lower than RRP.

      • +3

go in-store HN ask if they will price match, if yes just buy e-domayne gift cards online then use it to purchase at HN,gift cards take around 1-2 hours to arrive by email

        • yeah, that's very nice

        • is this gift card work on HN?

          • +2

@sssssam: yes used it few weeks ago & received the $150 AMEX cash back, make sure you purchase e-gift cards for quick email delivery

        • Can we use the e-domayne gift cards on HN online? Need to do this as my local store does not have stock of item i want to need to buy it online

        • Mate,
what's the advantage of buying e-domayne GC and then buying HN GC to purchase the TV?
I don't see any discs for buying e-domayne GC? Ta

          • @[Deactivated]: the advantage is that you can use domayne e gift card on Harvey norman who got an extra promo of $90 gift card bonus on this TV. of course buying domayne gift card in the first place to take advantage of amex promo

          • @[Deactivated]: the comments above saying domayne wouldn't match price, so if HN do the buy e card & buy from them, end of the day this deal just popped up best to buy it from their $656 + delivery

        • Maximum value for e-gift card is $500 on Domayne website. Does that mean I have to add $500 + $200 + $50 in the cart and checkout for the AMEX cashback? Also, can anyone confirm if Harvey Norman would allow 3 e-gift cards in one transactions

          • @Danger: yes just add 3 gift cards, but see deal above cheaper to buy it from appliance central

            • +1

              @RogueWolf: @ RogueWolf - Thanks mate !

I would still be better off with HN using AMEX deal if they do the price match.

              HN : $795 - $150 (AMEX) + $22 (delivery) = $667

              Appliance Central : $656 + $40 (delivery) = $696

              • @Danger: good point forgot about the $150 back lol, make sure HN will price match it before you order the gift cards

            • +1

@RogueWolf: harvey norman actually got $90 gift card for the same tv so after amex promo and gift card it might work out cheaper. although having said that i pulled the trigger on other ebay deal as I cant see my self buying something else from harvery normal to use that $90 gift card

        • +1

Harvey Norman online chat price matched the TV, but said that the $90 gift card will not apply.
"I can however match this price if you agree that you will be ineligible for our bonus even though it may still show on your invoice."

I just ordered UA55NU7100W using Domayne Gift Cards (no need to buy Harvey Norman gift cards using Domayne gift cards)
Their email says GC's can now be used at Harveys https://imgur.com/a/7SnxHVL

  • Samsung NU7100, true HDR is it 1k nits?

    • +6

      No mate nowhere near…

This is a really solid entry level 4k tv (especially at this price), however one of its drawbacks is its lower brightness and hence below-ideal HDR capability.

Have a read through here for a more detailed breakdown/review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/nu7100

  • I was thinking of getting this NU7100 but I'll wait for the NU8000 price to drop a little bit more.

  • +4

Perfect time to get a new one, my 10 year old Panasonic Plasma just died today… aka 7 blinks of death

  • +11
    • Don’t forget delivery
      ($77 for me)
$1153 altogether, still cheaper than jb hi fi

    • +1

wtf… same store I bought for $1358 a week ago.

      • Go back to them and ask for price match…

  • I have this tv. Very decent

  • Does it have a Netflix button on the remote?

    • +2

No nerflix button but the os has it as one of the options at the botrom of the screen when you turn it on. So it'd be 3 button presses to get there

    • The smart features are very convenient and quick

  • Great TV. Amazing Price!!

  • Review looks good, but any personal feedback on using it as a PC monitor?

  • Anyone got one of these TVs? What's the box size like?

Just wondering if it'd fit in a corolla/civic sedan

    • +1

55” fits in my 2001 Celica.

    • fits in my 2006 corolla but needed to put the seats down.

  • Can it be said that any current 4K TV, would have a better display than a 7 year old Bravia 1080p TV?

I’m trying to find a reason to upgrade from my current Sony 55”.

    • +3

      Yes, Absolutely.

    • +2

Came from a bravia 46" with a dead backlight. Panasonic oled 55" is just so much better in display its not funny.

    • +1

I would argue no. Sony upscaling is really good and in my experience I’ve preferred it to other brands for up scaling low quality content.

Get an oled if you’re wanting to experience an upgrade otherwise keep what’s working would be my advice.

      • Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I can't really fault my current picture quality TBH but have massive FOMO with not having a 4K TV already, I guess the longer I take to make a decision, it'll only benefit me with prices and new models etc. being released and discounted.

  • +1

How does the NU7100 compare to the Hisense 55p6? (good price on the ebay POOLSIDE deal)

  • +1

I'm on the fence about this one guys, read a few reviews online, the price looks good but not sure on the performance looking for a semi decent tv, just got a credit from jbhifi for my Panasonic that only lasted a year and a half after the screen stopped working. I've never really been a Samsung guy always went Sony or Panasonic.

  • Samsung 55NU7100 or Hisense 55P7? Which one is better?

    • Would love to know myself, friend has a 55P7 and its amazing.

    • +3

I have the 55NU7100 & my friend the 55P7. The Hisense has the better screen no doubt, especially colour reproduction & brightness (and has a 3yr warranty). The Sammie has a better menu system, app selection & incredibly low input lag for gaming.

IMO, the 55P7 is the better TV from a pure viewing perspective - but at the current JB prices ($795 v $1,298), I'd go the 55NU7100. If you are willing to fork out the extra cash for the 55P7, then I'd suggest the 55NU8000 at the same price, which is better than both.

PS: The 55P7 was $898 at The Good Guys last week.

  • No sale on nu7100 in 75” and nu8000 in 65”

  • +3

    Pros:
Decent picture quality - High 5400:1 contrast ratio, accurate colour out of the box in 'Movie' mode
Good for most gaming - Very low ~15ms input lag, acceptable 9ms response time (bright scenes), BFI in game mode
Looks good in dark scenes/room - Excellent black uniformity with no clouding/light bleed

    Cons:
Not very bright - Average 270cd/m2 SDR peak brightness means not recommended for well lit rooms
Average motion - Poor 24ms response time in dark scenes, movies judder, visible flicker at lower backlight brightness
Crappy HDR - Narrow colour gamut and low HDR peak brightness so not good for HDR

Overall a good TV for the price provided you don't watch in a bright room. Enabling BFI should resolve motion issues (other than flicker).

Or get the 55inch for $709.20 with free delivery using 10% off code.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-55-Series-7-4K-UHD-HDR-S…

    • Which code would that be?

  • I bought the 43” UA55NU7100W from The Good guys eBay back in December for $795. :(

Oh well. It’s a great TV if you’re moving up from a Full HD television that is more than five years old.

  • How does this compare with the Sony X8500F apart from price.

    • X85F has wide colour gamut and 100/120Hz panel vs 60Hz on this one - it is closer matched to the NU8000 but for the same price, I'd go the NU8000

  • Can I layby this at jb-hi or do afterpay?

  • Wow. I called JBHIFI Saturday to see if they could move their catalogue price of $1,200 on the 55" to match VideoPro/Appliance central of $850 delivered. The 'best they could do' was $999.

    • JB are terrible for price matching - I've actually had much better luck with HN - maybe Domayne will match it so you can stack with Amex (or buy Domayne giftcards to use at HN?)

  • Great deal! Super tempted to get this… Although, half thinking I may wait for the Hisense P7 ($900 should be doable), which has better picture & for me, aesthetically more pleasing.

It’s a tricky one though because prices will rocket in a couple of months, when they bin 2018 models for the new releases…

  • I have the 55 inch. Overall Its good for the price, but its not good for fast moving sport like football. The ball flickers when it moves which is very annoying. Its also not great in bright rooms. I wish I had paid more for a better tv.

    • +2

Have you turned off the motion smoothing feature ?

      • I played with the settings at the start. Ill check and give it another go. Cheers

    • +2

I followed this sites settings and adjusted some according to my taste (mainly making the TV as bright as possible as I found their brightness setting was too dull for me )

      https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/nu7100/settings

  • +6

This is a better price at https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/UA55NU7100WXXY-Samsung-55-inch-S… $696.00 delivered.

    • thanks for this mate. I just got this, saved me the hassle of buying domain egift cards and then using it on Harvey normal site and picking up myself

  • Just seen they have the Hisense P7 too for $832 (Appliance Central) - Decisions, decisions!

  • Wow 55NU8000 has dropped to $1295. Hoping that other stores will start slashing prices too

  • +2

Just popped into Costco (Ringwood). $759 for this TV. Not as cheap as ebay but cheaper than JB for anyone wanting pick up.

  • So annoyed about this. I bought from JB on 30/12 for $995 and specifically asked if the price would be lower in the new year. Was told it would be going back up, but now I'm reading about these new TVs coming out and they must have known (I went in an impulse and didn't know much about Samsung). Anyway, it's a great tv.

    • +1

Instead of beating yourself over it. Just enjoy your tv.

      • You sound like my partner. Good advice.

        • +1

It’s always a risk when you get to the end of a product line, as to when is the best time to buy. Buy too early, pay more. Buy too late, miss out completely. In previous years, the 55” base models have gone for around the $1000 mark at their life end. This year, we have seen the Samsung for as low as $652 (on eBay). They must have had an over supply.

  • For anyone interested in the 65 inch nu7100, I went in to good guys on Saturday and they had free delivery and table top installation on certain 65 inch models including this one. So I got the price down to $1220, and free standard delivery and installation(I paid $19 for upgraded delivery though to remove old tv and packaging. Very quick process. Got the TV delivered yesterday. Installation guy coming today. Didn't expect it to move so quick. Good guys did say they are selling last of their stock and won't bring any more so good chance to try to bargain down further in store. Think the free delivery in store ends today.
