Oh man, BC2 Vietnam brings back good memories. One of the best DLCs/expansions ever made.

    • I was just about to comment the same thing, probably the best game and expansion I've played in the series, so damn clean.

It's absolutely dead though. Not even free would make it worthwhile.

      • Has been dead for years I think 2012 when I tried it not much out there.

        • I think I found a couple active servers around 2014-15 but yeah, pretty much.

@Tacooo: It is annoying how online communities die so quickly these days, I remember some of the older battlefield games having player bases for years bf2 still had game arena and a solid player base

Its not a good game with only a few players either, you need enough players on foot to deal with the tanks, or its unbalanced.

      • +1

if it was free it would get a big spike in players

  • Is ME:A as bad as everyone says it is?

I am kind of disgusted that they closed the studio and ended all post-launch updates for the game so soon. They were still fixing a lot of things about it.

Personally I enjoyed it and so did a couple of my friends. It's certainly not the greatest game ever made but it's definitely worth playing if you like the original trilogy.

      • I did like the original trilogy. But where would you rank it in the series?

        I liked 3 the most, then 1, then 2.

Most people liked ME2 the most. I still loved 2, it just didn't have a plot. You had a dozen or two side stories that didn't connect to the overarching plot. The actual plot can be summed up in a single sentence: Help Cerberus stop the collectors, who were a paper thin villain with no development.

The combat was best in 1. I did not appreciate it being turned into a GoW style cover based shooter.

Replayed the original 3 probably 5-10 times over the years…

couldn't even get through half of andromeda…

The animations and voice acting are just so Kiddish, bought it day one and dont think I'll open it again.

          multiplayer is alright though.

          • @Jugganautx: Thanks for the feedback. I am considering trying Andromeda as I have enjoyed the trilogy, but now I will give it a miss.

            • @edfoo: Allow me to offer the opinion of somebody who has played through the trilogy 2-3 times - play it.

The open-world stuff is bland (and there is too much of it) but there are some nicely crafted areas too along with the BEST combat in the series in my opinion. Your abilities grow over time from simple synergies to robust synergies to being able to swap between specs on the fly to meet the situation.

@edfoo: Seriously tho, it's $10. Who cares if you buy it and it sucks?

            • @edfoo: for $10 its absolutely worth trying in my opinion. that guy is understandably extra mad at its faults cause he paid probably $70-80 at launch.
I got it at launch and am still pretty happy with my purchase, it absolutely has its faults (animations are still meh, aliens have little variety other than colour), but it also has some positives, funnest/best combat for an ME game, massive amounts of dialogue/banter between squadmates both on mission and on your spaceship, pretty great graphics (other than above mentioned weird animations and repetitiveness of alien facial models).

I finished it over the new year. I thought it was good, better game play than ME2 it was just a very different story.

The biggest complaints are usually people who played day 1 before the patches fixed the hilarious animation issues, or people who (for some reason I cannot understand) compare this one game to the entire trilogy.

If you use a US VPN, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is $4.50usd, it is $12.50 on the Aussie store. Few other massive drops in price like that.

    • Top stuff - thanks for that. BF2 Worked out to $6.29! :)

    • Yes, definitely recommend a US VPN for purchasing from EA Origin now. Australians (and Europeans too apparently) are price gouged. You wont get banned.

  • Is it finally time to buy Andromeda? No. No I think I'll wait until under $5. Or maybe under $3.

    • Less than $6 US is a bargain for an A list game in my opinion. EA doesn't do bundles, so it probably won't go lower than it is now.

  • Titanfall 2 is cheaper with USVPN (just play the single player campaign, i think mp is dead for Aussies)

Last year Aussies played on Japan servers. No idea if Japan is still alive now.

    • Still up during peak hours :)

Just got ME:Andromeda for $5.81 using VPN (Set to USA).
