    Hi
Can this play mp3 songs from the watch? How much GB can I copy the song into?
    Thanks

    • No, it has no internal storage for anything other than activity tracking.

    • No, no music is supported. Leaks for the Bip 2 seem like it may have this as well as a waterproof rating for swimming.

      • The BIP is rated IP68, it's rated for immersion below 1m.

There's no such thing as a waterproof watch, not even ISO 22810 rated watches are waterproof - water resistant is the best you'll get.

      • Thanks for the reply guys.
Anyone can suggest a cheap sports watch with memory or external memory with mp3 function?
        Thanks

        • Define "cheap" - there's the Amazfit Pace @ ~$150-170, only 5 day battery though.

Thought being a rep you'd know you can add 'STRAYA' for an extra 3% off ;) $84.39

  • how is it different from Xiaomi mi band 3 in functions, apart from size and looks?

    • gps, bigger screen (can read full notifications text), display is e-paper (always on), probably longer battery life.

      • +4

Transflective display, the more light the easier it is to read - a big plus compared to the MiBand.

Without a phone - Time, GPS, compass, barometer, pedometer, heart rate, timer (stopwatch or countdown), multiple alarms (need to set times via phone but can then turn them off/on), notification history, Do not disturb.
Settings:- watchface (traditional analog), long press button function (activity/turn off), etc etc

With a phone - Notifications, weather, set alarm times, sleep analysis, etc

A lot depends on the app you pair it with also.

Having had the Mi Band 1 & 2, the BIP just blows them out of the water by comparison.

      • A lot of people get 50 days from a charge.

        • That's probably if you don't use exercise/activity tracking at all. The best I've had is 25-30 days

  • No NFC, built-in GNS

  • Do we need to pay GST?

Would be nice if OP can know the price further to $60-ish

Bought for $70 almost a year ago. Great watch but would have thought the price would come down by now.

    • Where did you get the watch for that price? Do tell!

    • Same, I got this from Kogan for $69 after applying discount vouchers down from $89 about 10 months ago. The same watch is now listed as $99. Doesn't make sense that the price actually went up!

  • How long does shipping take?

  • Waiting for the deal under $70

I'm not rating the deal here but only the product.

I bought this watch a few months ago, I was really excited after reading a lot of reviews given that it has the 3 features that matter to me: GPS, heart rate monitor and sync to Strava (via that dodgy 3rd party app…). Nothing else in this price range go near in terms of features.

I ended up being disappointed with all 3 features:
    - GPS would take around 5 minutes to sync, even when having the Mifit app open on my phone at the same time. Quite frustrating to have to wait to start running for it to sync. On top of that, in about half my runs I would get erratic GPS data that would ruin the tracking.
    - heart rate monitor is unreliable (but to be fair that is the case with most sports watches and fitness trackers using optical HRM).
    - sync to Mifit or 3rd party app stopped working after a dozen runs. I had to reset the watch completely to get it to work again, which erased all the runs that previously didn't sync. Sync worked again for a few runs then got stuck again. That's when I gave up on it.

I still use the watch on the odd occasion as a stopwatch. Pretty expensive stopwatch at $75.

Surely I got a lemon as there are a lot of enthusiastic reviews out there. My bad for trying to save a few bucks by buying on Gearbest rather than an Aussie retailer that would have some sort of return policy (which TobyDeals has).

    • GPS would take around 5 minutes to sync

if you keep updating a-gps (should be automatic), that would not be the case

sync to Mifit or 3rd party app stopped working

for strava, I use Amaizfit notify (premium + sync)

I am agree, software is a weak point here (same with fitbit) and when I was buying it, I knew it, so no disappointment for me. Although I still like fitbit dashboard

I still use the watch on the odd occasion as a stopwatch.

I use it as a smart watch/fitness tracker, all notifications (helps not to miss calls and messages in loud spaces or far from phone and eliminate need to pick up phone from other room, you can just read a message), heart rate tracking especially overnight..

If you currently don't, it may pay to connect it to the MiFit app occasionally to see if there is any firmware updates that fix your particular problems.

Current firmware seems to be 1.1.5.04, Resources 42, GPS 15974,e61dd16,126

The above is from the Notify & Fitness for Amazfit app, (which I also use to update the firmware).

In theory, without the benefit of A-GPS (via the phone) you should get a lock in about 2 minutes with a Cold Start fix due to having to download almanac data from the satellites. IIRC, almanac data is good for about a month before it's considered obsolete.

Naturally, if there's overhead cover or your moving it's going to take longer.

I use Notify & Fitness for Amazfit and only sync to Google Fit, seems to work OK - there was a period where it wouldn't sync any step data to Fit no matter what I tried to fix it.

      • Thanks for the advice, I'll give that a go!

        • The firmware updates are included with new app updates, so update/install the app, then connect the watch - it'll start to update within a few minutes if there's one available, IIRC.

On the watch, if you go into Settings->About it'll tell you what firmware it's running.

  • Anyone know a rough estimate to send this from Brisbane to Hong Kong in case someone changes their mind after seeing it in person?

Wish there was a round version too (with same feature set/screen etc, the Amazfit Pace is different according to post above)

    • +1

The Pace is basically the same with the following differences:
      1. It's round
      2. Onboard music storage (4GB) and playback thru BT earphones
      3. Ceramic bezel, not Gorilla Glass (like the BIP) - (maybe they mean crystal?)
      4. WiFi connectivity
      5. Only IP67 (immersion up to 1m in fresh water for up to 30min)
      6. Only 5-11 day battery life
      7. More activities tracked than the BIP
      8. Display has almost twice the resolution 320x300 (BIP 176x176)
      9. You can control music playback on your phone with the watch, (pause, play, next, prev)

Can't you buy these on ebay from the Melbourne seller for this price?

  • My recently updated Bip now has an Alipay icon. Not sure how to set it up but assume it can now be used for contactless payments? Can anyone confirm?
