gessus soon we have a common price of $10 per inch for tv

    • -1

No. Mid range is common price. This is bad quality screen price.

      • How to tell if it's mid range and good screen

        • -1

          $20 per inch

    • Then you'll never buy anything…keep waiting.. for ever

      There you go!
You remember my post for the same TV yesterday?
You wont wait forever, only 1 day for it to get cheaper by $30 lol
      Who knows tomorrow?
      It wont take forever

      • its actually $5 cheaper your quoting the price without delivery: $695 + minimum $25 delivery = $715

        • Well, although it is minuscule difference but still cheaper. :P
Wait a few more days and I reckon it will be even cheaper…. combined with shipping.
          Cheers

          • @vinni9284: your more likely to see the ebay coupon code expire & the samsung promo price expire in the next few days/week, & the tv will be back up to $800-$900s, but roll the dice see how you go..

            • @RogueWolf: Possibly however who cares?
I mean many here has seen it at its lowest price so therefore they would not want to get ripped off buying it at the higher price that you have suggested.
Furthermore, it is only an entry level TV and the next replacement will be released in a matter of months.
I mean this price for a 55" UHD TV brand name was unheard of same time last year.
Therefore it is only going to get better over time.
I guess it depends on how long you are willing wait and play the game :P
I'm sure most of us want rather than need … and love up-grade-itis
              Cheers

              • @vinni9284:

                Possibly however who cares?

                You certainly seem to…

Therefore it is only going to get better over time.
I guess it depends on how long you are willing wait and play the game

If you wait too long, the stock will be sold out and then you will be left with the new pricier models, which means you'll be waiting another 10-11 months for a similar/equivalent price.

                • @brotherfranciz: No actually, i don't really care tbh.
My response was in reference to a poster the other day.
I won't buy this TV and rather spend more on a higher model. But that's me.
I already have an OLED therefore i won't buy anything less :P
Not saying this TV is not good.
We will see if it's equivalent replacement is way pricer.
                  Cheers

I've warmed to the idea of a 32" TV for the bedroom, but all the decent 32" cost as much as a decent 55". How does that work?!

    • +2

32" is useful for small spaces. I'm in the market for one in our new bathroom, literally can't fit anything much bigger.

I don't know why hisense or kogan or bauhn dont do a $299 full HD 32", it's ridiculous

      • +10

32” TV in the bathroom? Human civilisation has reached its peak!

      • +1

I was in the same boat, did not want anything over 32" but also did not want HD resolution. Ended up getting 32" 4K monitor and Apple TV and got them paired with external speakers.

        • What's the point of 4K on 32" when you're sitting back from the screen?

          • @joeflacco: image is still considerably finer and crispier, you also get better color reproduction than on those cheap 32" FHD panels that they use.

    • Cos 32 useful for study or bedroom. 55 inch too big for these but too small for lounge. So because less useful, less demand, lower price. That's how it works.

      • 42 to 46 is pretty good size for a bedroom

        • +11

But my wife assures me 6 is fine!

          • +6

@Cyphar: Cos she hasnt tried the 32". I find with these things you dont know yours is too small until you've tried bigger then you cant go back cos will be forever too small.

Next time when I go to someone's home and see this TV, I will ask if you happen to be an OzBargainer

Waiting for people to come in and rage

"omg I just bought for 720 in that other deal. Spewing."

    • +2

This is $715 delivered though(Sydney), so only a $5 difference.

  • +1

    is this tv any good?

    • +1

It's a series 7 so that puts it above average without even checking the specs.

      • ive had a 4series and a 5series

both smart TV's the older one they took youtube off the apps and i called samsung and they told me it was no longer supported, i was fuming especially sicne that tv cost me $2400 at the time, i love samsung products but that has almost put me off.

they told me to buy google chromecast! so now that tv is basically not in use because the kids are on netflix/youtube as free to air is pointless.

        • +1

so did you buy the chromecast?

          • @pinkybrain: nope, just watch tv in the rumpus room rather than the lounge.. bigger tv on that side which still supports netflix/youtube

    • This is the cheapest 55” tv that Samsung produce. There are four better models above it. It’s entry level.

If you just need it to say the word ‘Samsung’ on the front of the tv then buy this. If you want a good quality tv then consider the 8 series or Q6/Q7.

      Hope this helps

      • There are 5 upper models including The Frame 55”

Picture quality of this TV is decent compared to others in its range.

  • Me thinks that this TV is going to be flogged around for a bit and that we will be seeing more posts of this TV like XBOX and PS4 :)

  • how's this compared to Hisense P7?

    • Specwise, I think P7 is much better.

      • what about picture quality?

        • It is very hard for me to understand the differences, but I think P7 is somewhat better.

        • I've just been in JB comparing the two. To me the p7 looks more vivid. I'm holding off for the 55 p7 to drop in price again.

    • I bought the 65" P7 and I personally prefer it over the NU7100 because of better picture detail and premium finish. Sammy seems to have a better platform though compared to VIDAA, it is still very fast though.

    • Would love a bargain on the Hisense P7 65 inch! I've decided its the TV for me now to find a bargain.

  • I bought this from previous deal. Quality for price is great👍 No regrets. :)

  • This or the Sony XF70?

  • How good / quick Appliance Central are with delivery to melbourne metro?

  • For my main TV I'm still rocking an 8 year old 1080p Sony 55" LCD I bought 8 years ago. I understand the technical differences and sure a 4K HDR image is nicer but the practical differences are not that huge. It's still the same movie you're watching and if it looked great to you 4 years ago it should look great now, even if something new looks a little better. I don't understand how TVs are constantly being sold at the rate they are? What are people doing with their old TVs?

    • people have disposable income and like tv's.

    • What are people doing with their old TVs?

Mine has a dead backlight. So it had to be replaced.

      • Yep that makes sense. If mine died I'd be straight onto one of these deals.

    • i sold my 10 year old 40 inch sony tv on gumtree for $300. and I could buy a newer better one now for $600-700

  • I wonder how it compares to my UA55JS8000WXXY from 2015.

    • The 55JS8000 absolutely smashes this TV.
      No comparison.

  • Listing is ended

  • Wow, if you just want a simple 55" TV with the Samsung smart platform and don't care about HDR or FALD, that is a great price.

  • I've just picked one of these up and want to pair with my Google Max. But it has no Aux. anyone have any suggestions on how to hook it up without converting the optical to aux ?
