Every time it’s time to market for Chinese customers-
‘Ok it’s sale time, what’s the big offer’
rips off $59,990 from the cars windscreen
    places $88,888 on the windscreen
‘Yeah that’ll work, maybe get some red and gold stuff too’

    • just keep adding 8s or 9s, they will open the wallets. Good sale for Aussie.

    • +1

I wouldn't talk. They have floor 13 in their buildings.

  • Can you stack plans of different types? e.g. I still have few month left on my old Medium 180day plan, what happens if I stack this one on top?

    • Hi there,
You can stack this plan over your current one. (up to 24 months)
The new plan would only be activated once your current plan expires.

      hope this helps.

  • Anyone have any experience with lebara? What's the network like? there's mixed reviews on product review.

    • +1

My 2 accounts have been spot on. Vodafone network is now good.

    • +1

Have to say, having been rolling through SIMs for some time now, suspect Vodafone international calls are handled differently to Lebara. Lebara consistently had an echo or delay. Otherwise local calls, coverage and data all appeared the same.

      • Echo and delay is when you are routed through the satellite. No delay is when you're on the undersea cable. Your call gets assigned to whatever the next available is, regardless of which carrier you are with.

  • +1

For what you will be paying for in this current offer its great. Certainly dont expect a telstra network service. I have been with lebara for 1 year or so and its been good for me and my wife. I had Vodafone and optus before and service is comparable.

  • +1

This obsession with the number 8 is really irking me.

That is always good to hear.
      Welcome to Lebara!

  • Great deal by Lunar New year. Bought one.

    • Welcome to Lebara! @sydney98

  • +4

OP what is the expiry on the recharge voucher?
My current plan wont expire until end of March (not with Lebara). So any chance I can buy sim and recharge voucher, then activate and port in when my current prepaid plan expired in 2 months?

    Thank you

    • Dunno. Check with Outthere, he works for Lebara. Good question.

    • +1

I'd like to know as well. Recently ported to Kogan but would switch back to Lebara if I don't have to activate till March.

    • I made phone call ask this question, the lady said this is recharge not voucher, so it is ending 7/2/19, if voucher got 60days expired date. 1300126122
My current plan is same yours, ending 29/03/19, hope someone can confirm.

    • Hi FM,

This is not a voucher. You have to recharge your account with credit card on this deal before 7th Feb 2019.

Please DM me on @outthere for more info.

      Thanks

      Team Lebara

    • HI FM2,

Unfortunately, this promotion is only for port-ins, activations and recharges (via website) and not via voucher recharge.
You would either have to port-in to Lebara before Feb 7, 2019 or wait for our promotions running in March.
We would be posting our promotions on this platform so you don't end up missing out.
      Hope this helps.

  • Damn I purchased the starter pack a couple of days ago for $14.90. Not yet activated. Any chance I could get the difference back?

  • Bit disappointing that current customers are ripped off again. New customers get the good deal of $8.88 a month were's current customers get $14.66 a month. What's the go Lebara?

    • You read it wrong. Hit the link and see where it says for current customers too. Sheesh!

      For new customers

      Buy SIM
For existing customers. This plan is stackable up to 24 months.

      Recharge

      • I'll clarify my post. So the $8.88 a month small plan is only for new customers equals $53.28 for 6 months. The $88 for 6 months is for new and existing customers. So as you can see that equates to $14.66 a month for existing customers.

        • The way I read it, I thought that $8.88 is for a starter sim and one month's service, not $8.88 a month for 6 months, and I still think that. Maybe the Lebara rep can clarify.

          • @Wardaddy: Your right. $24.90 for recharge after first month :/ . So both new and existing customers get slammed. Lebara bring back Black Friday/cyber Monday deal!

  • Hi Lebara Rep. do you have anything for medium plan ? Small done, large done now get a special offer out for medium pls

  • Wouldn't recommend Lebara as of today.

I signed up around 4 months ago with a 12 month voucher.

Today I have to make a bunch of calls as my CC has been cancelled (weird activity in Canada) and I need to inform all my direct debits while I get a new card.
First call to my gym - "You can't call this number from Lebara"
I rang Lebara and they said they don't have a "contract" to call a lot of business numbers.
Lebara is for "personal use" and not business use and therefore I can't call local business numbers… like my gym.

I've never come across this before and don't know if this is common to other low cost carriers.

    • Whoever said that is speaking nonsense. You can call any number. Sounds like a glitch in the software. I once had a similar experience on Kogan, when they said I had no credit on a unlimited call plan! I'd pm the Lebara rep on here if I were you.

    • Hi Natasqi,

Sincere apologies for the inconvenience you had to go through. This is very unusual and we would like to investigate this issue further. Could you please share the contact number you were trying to reach via private message and we assure you that we would try to resolve the issue ASAP.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

      Regards,
      Team Lebara

      • +2

Issue has been resolved, whatever the cause was. Have taken back my neg.

  • Need a deal including calls to India please… similar to this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/403362

    • You get unlimited texts, and 250 minutes of talk to India. That not enough?

      • which plan? This one only has unlimited to 10 countries…. • standard fixed and mobile calls to Brazil, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand,
        Singapore, South Korea, UK, USA

        • Plus unlimited text to 60 countries, plus $5 credit for overseas calls, @ 2 cents per minute to India.

          • @Wardaddy: didn't see that, but 8 mins per day ain't enough.

            • +1

@battler: Get them to move to China then, unlimited to there.

  • NOTE - Offer now extended to 10th Feb.

    • The website https://www.lebara.com.au/ still says

Hurry, sale ends 7th Feb, 2019

      • Trust me, it's just been extended to the 10th

        • Still says 7th.

      • Should have extended it to the 8th

        • +1

          Or 8th of the 8th.

    • Hi all,

The promotion has been extended till 10th Feb. Our team is working on updating the site website.
Thank you for updating the post @wardaddy.

  • I just did a recharge as my current service expires in early March.

  • Just ordered the Small Plan starter pack for $8.88 (6GB std. + 12GB bonus on activation). It's going to take a few days to arrive. Can anyone explain to me how I'm supposed to take advantage of the $8.88? Should I receive a voucher code with the SIM in the mail? Or should I receive an email with a voucher code?

    • I found out that it is SIM specific. A bit crazy that you can't expedite things by getting an email voucher. But ah well, happy to wait.
