Citi Rewards Platinum Credit Card $99 Fee ($149 Thereafter) with 75,000 Flybuys Points (Spend $3k in First 90 Days)

120

Hey guys first deal, not sure how long this has been going, but 75k flybuys points seems pretty good considering the fee and required spend. 75k flybuys points is akin to between 32k and 37k velocity points (37k if you transfer to velocity when there's a 15% promotion).

Agree not much good for much of anything.

Coles supermarket does $10 off for 2000 points. This 75000 points equets to $375 Coles shopping.

    • That's actually pretty good

    • agree, but other cards offer about 60k qantas or vel pointa which are worth anywhere from $600 +

Can you cite an example of that?

I was going to post a deal on this but got beaten obviously.

Use the companion Diners. Coles Supermarket spending will earn you 2 points per dollar.

Since $500 coles gift card cost 100,000 flybuys points, using this companion card will get you that gift card 2x quicker.

Add the 75,000 points and the fact there is an extra 15% bonus for transfer to flybuys, you can get $1,000 coles gift card quite quickly by transferring them to flybuys.

I will post a separate forum on where Diners can be used based on personal experience.

      • Keen to learn on diners card as I find the places accept this card is very limited. Another downfall is we don't even get diners globsl airport lounge benefit either which is a bit lame.

    • Not just coles. Convert them to flybuys dollars and use them in kmart/target as well.

  • Citibank reward points to velocity points is 2.5 : 1 ratio at the moment.
So in theory 37500 velocity point is equivalent to 94000 Citibank reward points. That's actually a pretty good offer for this card.

  • I have this same card but no annual fee . Would prefer that deal again

Bear in mind, I would prefer the Fee-Free for Life Citi Signature

    • I doubt the value of that card… Do people still think that card is worth keeping? The new points earn rates seem poor.

      • +2

Fee free for life with 1.5 earning rates plus priority pass. not bad imho.

        • I had forgotten about priority pass, that may come in handy.

Just under 40K Velocity for that spend and $99 fee is pretty good.

  • Can you use a ATO tax bill to satisfy the $3K spend.
Pretty sure most cards say you cant earn points on "Government Charges", but would the bill still count towards the 3K spend?
