return Bris to Queenstown from 21 august to 15 Sept. Virgin happy hour fares. Can probably find them on normal virgin website.

This is increibly low, when you take into account that govt taxes/charges are around $180, it means virgin are getting roughly $100 for 3.5 hours flying.

Deal expires 10pm AEST, so just over 4 hours to go from now.

  • lots of other trans-tasman deals.

Air NZ might regret "splitting" from Virgin across tasman

… Did you click on a link?

All the 'return' legs are cheaper than the advertised 'to' flight.

  • Good deal, just a shame I have uni.

  • Choice !

  • ah if this came up tomorrow i could book….bah. guess it is not meant to be. really want to go to zqn!

  • cant find the price

  • Imo save your money and go to Japan and stay on the snow. Least you can bank on the fallls. Ibe gotten return flights for under $600 and ia 10x better. My 2 cents.

    • Yea but there's no steep in hokkaido

    • But there’s not much snow in August

      • ? August is the best month

        • Not in Japan

  • Thanks OP. Booked.

    Double SC too 😉

  • Grat deal! Thanks OP.

  • Dammit, this is two weeks after we have a wedding there :/

      • It is Ekka week, I was wondering why they booked it then

  • Thanks OP. Bought myself a return flight to Auckland for $335 during the busy midyear holiday period.

I noticed you said meals are included, but I can't find any mention of it on my ticket, nor was I asked about dietary requirements for the similarly long 3.5hr trip.

It says on the website that short haul flights get complementary snacks, but I'm thinking they might just be peanuts.

    Rip.

    • Virgin run a meal service on all short haul international flights now :)

Might want to contact them about dietary requirements, but they do usually have one vegetarian option for what its worth

        • Thanks for the information. I'll call them up.

Really seems like Virgin is stepping up their flights.

Really glad I didn't book the Air NZ flight.

The cheapest I saw them for the same dates was $297, no food or bags.

          Thanks so much!

            • @JamesSmart: Nah, I booked with Virgin for $335.

I just have an issue with the provided meal, is all.

        • I asked Virgin Australia about this, and they confirmed that they do include meals on the Trans-Tasman routes, but don't allow for special meals.

Super frustrating. The person on the phone refused to let me provide feedback to Virgin Australia.

As a gluten-free person (not by choice, like actually diagnosed by experts) I'm pretty miffed.

  • Meal is a muffin/mus bar and water. I’m not joking. I would probably rephrase it ‘token snack’ included.

Long Haul HKG/LAX you get the full works.

      • You don’t even get free soft drink on virgin. They were happy to slug me $4 a can.
