The Golf Course Guide 2010 $2 @ KMart

90

I found this book on clearance in K-Mart Northland (VIC) today. Originally priced at $28, it's now advertised on shelf for $3.50 but actually scans at $2.00 instead. Note that the book's value is significantly decreased because all the discount green fees vouchers have expired on 31/12/10.

Blurb (from Boomerang Books because KMart does not have it listed on their website): Australia's unchallenged authority provides a state by state guide to over 800 top resorts, public courses, private clubs & course location maps for every state of Australia. Also provides the latest top 100 course rankings, stay & play resort rankings, plus exclusive savings offers at Australia's top resorts. Discover all our golfing treasures in this brilliant book, and pay specially reduced green fees (there are many courses where you save more than the cost of the book in a single round) available only upon presentation of The Golf Course Guide - Australia's best value discount green fee scheme.

If you're the sort who'd like a handy reference guide to many golf courses around the country or you have grey nomad parents / grandparents who travel around Australia and don't mind a round of golf but would like to know the course quality and facilities before they arrive in town, this could make a handy reference text to carry in the car for only $2.

The information won't change much from year to year - I had a look at the 2009 edition which is also still available in KMart, and bizarrely, full price at $25 despite all those vouchers expiring 31/12/09 - there was no significant difference in the information between editions.

  • They should give this for free - easily recovered when you visit a course just once!

  • nice book…will probably check it out and buy it from Kmart if still available

  • Update: The 2010 guide now has reduced to $1. The 2011 edition is now on the shelf beside it and scans at $24, so I still really can't figure out why nobody has discounted the 2009 edition which scans at $25…
