Just be aware, there is a mistake in the description. This watch does NOT run Android Wear. It runs a proprietary Xiaomi firmware. Other than that, it's a great watch. I've had one for over a year and still get around 30 days per charge.

    • I'm considering getting one. Can you load Spotify onto it and listen to it on offline mode?

      • No, it's very basic. Good for notifications (but you can't reply), activity tracking (has built-in GPS) and sleep monitoring (integrates nicely with "Sleep for Android").

Waiting for this to go under $50….

    • I agree. The price isn't great. I'm sure I only paid about $70 over a year ago. Plus, the BIP 2 is about to be released so that should push the price down a bit.

    • I bought one for $60 last year.

$78 on eBay if you have eBay Plus

    • I have another 10 days of plus trial but 70+$, hmmmm no way

Worth noting that the Bip 2 has gone through the FCC and is to launch shortly - which is probably why the price cut.

Not much of a change mind, so it's not as if you are going to miss out massively if you get this one.

    • Yeah, the BIP 2 looks to be more of a downgrade. Apart from the improvement in waterproofness, the smaller screen and lower res would be a deal-breaker for me as I already struggle to read the small font on the original BIP.

      • I wear mine in the shower everyday. No problems at all.

      • Maybe. But if they add NFC and storage to play music to Bluetooth headphones and keep it under $100 I will buy one for sure. I’ve bought two bips for $60 and $70 and would happily pay a little more no to need to take my phone for music and the odd purchase when I go for a run

This isn't a price cut or a deal. Got one for $60 last year.

  • Anyone used these on iOS?

    • with Mi app, works fine.

    • Yep, works great. Whatsapp, imessage, maps/google maps, messenger integration no problem.

  • I really liked my unit .. but just beware!!. My Xiaomi Amazfit Bip froze during updating .. there's no reset button .. no way of recovering from freeze .. bricked!! Apparently a not an uncommom problem.

    • yeah, happened to me twice!
I just left it for a few days, recovered both times. If it runs out of battery, it will reset anyway. The pain is mine has been always 45+ days between recharges, so it could be a long haul.
However, I reckon, make sure your Bip is close to your phone every time you start the APP. The update happens when you open the APP, but may not instantly, so Keep it close. I never had the problem since.

      • .. good to know .. thx

  • Is it possible to sync data with Google fit app as well?

    • Yes

      • how?

        • +1

You add the Google Fit account on the Mi Fit app under "Add accounts".
Third party tools like "Amazfit Tools" allow you to sync heart rate with Google Fit too, I believe.

On another note, I recommend this one for custom watch faces.

          • @Rorschach: thank you very much for your help. got it now.

I custom watch face by myself and use Android phone

Can i ask will google fit sync with the watch or the watch get synce with google fit?
