  • Have you got a deal on the furi with the black / clear block?

    • Hi blackwalnut,

Are you referring to the Limited Edition Walnut & Black Stainless Steel Sets?

We have a deal on the 7 piece set - spend $249 or more in our store and receive a free Furi Chop & Transfer Board (RRP $119) with your order :)

      • Is the product code for this 259210900, want to be sure what that i am comparing this too

Sorry to be harsh but what a rubbish '$500' knife block set - you don't even get a single chefs knife in it! Paring, utility, santuko and ….bread knives!!!

I'm going out on a limb and saying no-one ever has paid $500 for this - and thats before the dubious quality of Furi knives is even touched on - DYOR.

I am not negging but really for this type of coin it's missing the ONE knife that people are recommended to have….go figure.

    • Bread Knife… the biggest waste of space personally

      • Why do you feel that way if I may ask.

    • Hi Nikko, the santoku knife is the Asian equivalent of a chef's knife with slightly different qualities.

The RRP is $499. With the $50 discount code via this deal it is on sale for $179.95.

If you prefer a chef's knife over a santoku then we have plenty of sets that accommodate this.

      Hope this helps.

        OP,
I know what a santoku is - and with all due respect its got some significant differences from a chefs knife - and nothing is more evident than as I said - the golden advice on knives is to start with one good chefs knife - I've never heard it said about a santoku.

As i stated any set that claimed and I should say 'claimed' it's worth $500 should have a chefs knife or equivalent - and knife fans will generally tell you that even amongst Eastern makes a Gyuto is far more the similar make.

Its not a set I'd recommend to anyone either on the basis of the quality of the knives within it or the value posed.

        • Doesn't the 7 piece set come with a cooks knife?

        • I'd rather buy the 2 piece tojiro dp3 set than this, and then buy a good mac breadknife instead… You get more worthwhile knives!

          • @KnifeEnthusiastBoi: Tojiro DP3 is vastly superior quality - Furi is very ordinary with more hype than substance - people who know knives don't have any respect for them.

      • Gyuto but you should know this….
