[VIC] Free Tickets to AFLX (Friday Feb 22, Marvel Stadium) @ Ticketmaster (2 Tickets Per Transaction)

830

Hey all, if you want something to do on Friday night, get yourself 2 free tickets to AFLX @ Etihad Marvel Stadium. Starts at 7:10pm. My advice on the earlier $10 deal came true!

Note: Ticketmaster says a $2.95 booking fee may apply, there is actually no fee at all. Completely free.

My mates and I went last year. Although it wasn't a GF level spectacle, it was still pretty good fun. Plus we paid for it, too.

    Still too expensive

    • If I give you some money will that make it easier to afford?

      Here you go

$0.20 cashback from Cashrewards for the win !!!

Who would downvote this? Come on OzB, 20 cents is 20 cents, even better when it's free.

    Just getting in early.

"The AFLX must be doing well then."

"7 matches in a whole season. Such a joke."

"AFLX can finally die in the ass now that the novelty is over and people don't get virtue points for vocally supporting it anymore."

"This is probably the only way they'll get people to the games."

"Some of these players are getting paid $20,000 for less than an hour of game time which is more than double what the average AFLW player earns in a season. SO UNFAIR!"

    etc. etc.

Being OzBargain… There will be people holding out for cheaper.

    • You would have to pay me and pay me well to get me to this event

  • Snagged 4 in one transaction too, cheers.

    • I just did some testing myself and it seems you can only get 2 per transaction on mobile, but on desktop, you can get up to 12 at once it seems!

      • Well, I don't need 12 people, but at least, knowing 4 is far from the limit, I don't have to feel bad about grabbing 4.

        • If you did 4 separate transaction of 1 ticket, you would have made 80 cents via Cashrewards…

Imagine everyone grabs 12 and they sell out of tickets yet the ground is still empty.

Then again if you ask most people they "sold out" a long time ago.

      • AFL want you to buy in lots of 12 - then advertise its a sellout - a roaring success - then maybe borrow some of ports tarps to cover the unused seats

  • doest appear to let me checkout, has the deal finished?

edit - had a vpn on

20 cent cashback per transaction is working

so best to buy tickets in separate transactions.

I remember the whole point of this concept was to play at football grounds - rectangular stadiums as part of the push to get noticed in states where cricket ovals are only known for cricket. 12 months later it's being played in Melbourne at a cricket oval. What will die first, this or the Port Power Chinese game?

    • From memory it was also to try out new rules?

    • So why the hell aren't they playing at AAMI then?

      • AFL owns Marvel Stadium. No point paying another stadium to host your event when you can host it at one you own for no extra cost. AFLX would be better suited to AAMI Park though.

  • When I go onto cash rewards then to, to the site it comes up as $15. ?

    • Use the chrome browser and activate the Cashrewards add in

  • got a couple tickets incase this runs out 50/50 about going still think they need to pay me to see this

    • The inaugural AFLX Melbourne crowd at Etihad was 22,500, Adelaide 10,200 and Sydney 9,800. In typical AFL style those official attendances were debatable as the AFL pays an individual to hand count the crowd instead of going by turnstile clicks - particularly in Sydney where the crowd from the television broadcast looked as if that figure was blown way above the reality. Marvel/Etihad is a 56,000 capacity ground where the first year didn't manage to half fill it so any concern about the event selling out is not warranted

      • Yeah fair point cant see this selling out managed to get 8 free tickets without an issue couple mates are keen so ill be going but i wouldnt be up for it if it wasnt free

  • Are there any free tickets left?

  • Am I doing something wrong or are all the free tickets gone?

  • Prob ran out now i imagine

Some guy on gumtree is trying make money

    https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/hoppers-crossing/sport/8-x-a…

    • Wow, is it even worth the effort for a cheeky $10? 100% bet that Gumtree user will be reading both mine and your comment very soon if he hasn't already… unless it's you doing a sneaky plug of your Gumtree ad? LMAO

Edit: wow he wants $10 each for 8 tickets not $10 for the lot.

      • Nah lol not me.. i got some but gave it to my sister

  • Looks like the free tickets are gone now :(
