    • Very shaky. My father got sucked into it. Ended up in verge collection. Common sense says if it worked you wouldn't see anyone buying traps for pests. Just plug it in and forget about it.

  • Wow, those installation instructions are very strongly worded, and provide a nice little absolution for the seller if it doesn't work.
Oh, and only claimed to work in the room of installation, so you need one in each room.

    • Not even in the room of installation. Pests are quite happy to pass right beside it.

  • These things are garbage (not this specific model, but as a whole).

I have (want to say had, but I doubt it'll ever go away for good) a rat problem as my neighbours house is now derelict, other neighbours have chickens, I have palm trees and I am near a train line.

We had a rat's nest in the roof and I got the experts out that advised me to avoid these as I suggested them. They also strongly advised against any of the rat poison in Bunnings (after I had bought a whole bunch) - simply did not work.

Since putting 5 bait stations around the house, I have heard a rat once in 8 months. Used to hear them daily.

    • -1
      • I prefer bait stations.

You'd have to buy many of those and have them always on around the house. It's inefficient.

        That's assuming they actually work.

    • Out of curiosity, what do you do about their bodies? I think I have something living in the roof, but I don't want to poison it and it to die up there and smell.

      • +2

We had one die in the wall cavity - absolutely stunk to high heaven. It was either mask the smell, or rip out the plaster.

Ordered a deoderising bag off eBay and it was incredible. Didn't mask the smell, but completely absorbed it.

If they do die in the roof, it's unfortunate. Usually they eat the poison and run off to find water as the poison makes them crazily thirsty. Once they drink the water, it activates the poison and kills them before they can come back.

      • Old fashioned snap trap, nailed down. Of course, if you don't figure out how they are getting in and seal it there will be more.

  • +2

    Yeah these literally accomplish nothing

  • These don't work

  • Had this before, it is just sitting here comsuming electricity and do nothing.

    Proven not working

  • Negging for defective product.
