  • What's the easiest way to make a second account?

    • +7

New phone # and new email

        • +6

          They don't.
I used the same phone more than once.

Considering I've used 2 accounts on the same phone but using different numbers and I haven't had any problems.

          • -5

@CC123: U can make 2-3 new accounts on a device max noob :p

          • @CC123: What phone are you using?

            • @nerd1: I have a 6s for my main and a 5s as a backup.

              • @CC123: It could be different for iPhones and Android phones.

        • +3

What a liar. You didn’t know this but post your uninformed opinion as facts.

          • -3

@directflight: Ummm so payment information isnt encrypted?

    • +5

I kept making new accounts with a burner sim new number and email. After about the fifth one they blocked my debit card as they detected it being used across multiple accounts. I haven't done this but you can sign up for normal uber using PayPal as payment so then when you login to Uber Eats from the same device PayPal is an option - apparently you can't pay for Uber eats with PayPal straight off the bat.

      • how many times did you use the same card?
when was the last time reusing a card worked?
        Thanks m8

        • +14

Probably about 5 times and it was blocked as a payment method on my legit account too. I contacted support and said don't know what's going on and that my kids are always messing around with my phones and debit cards even though they've been told not to. I don't even have any kids but they unblocked the card on my legit account and I haven't created a bogus eats account since.

      • I haven’t tried this, thanks

      • +1

        I have
        - my normal card I use
        - x2 prepaid visa cards I won a while back (which are still active)
        - PayPal

I have used PayPal by itself to buy food and it does work. Just remember to remove your card from the payment options on the Uber Eats app. Keep PayPal in the list

        • +2

Doesn't work for some people, possibly why. See below.

    • +1

      There's been equal discounts.

This one which worked for existing users was good.

  • +1

Might get this to use this lol

    Thanks for sharing!

    • +1

By the time you get the SIM, Uber Eats code definitely expires.

      • That's true :(

OVO's website says it'll take 3-7 business days.
        Should be fine :-)

New account here, but says I'm not eligible for some reason…

    • +3

      Same here..

    • When did you make the account?

      • Like when I saw the deal.

        • That's strange. Ty for the heads up.

    • Same

  • Same.

  • +5

I think this offer only applies to users who meet this criteria.

    • Registered with Uber/Ubereats before, but never placed an order.

As they sent me emails on 2 different profiles, coz I have never ordered any UBEReats.

    • +1

This. Uber eats doesn't deliver to my house but I did once make an account.

    • +2

But OP says he/she bringing the real bargains to OzB

  • Minimum spend? Doesn't seem to mention it

  • +3

Had an account since 2017. Never ordered anything. Doesn't work.

  • I knew it!!! All those $10 flyer handouts at Chatswood and Strathfield train station i knew weren't worth it.

  • It’s there a trick of how to use it? Didn’t work for a new account with new email and new mobile. Any trick of how to use it?

    • +1

did you try making an order on the website (not the app)

      • Yup, tried on my computer, it doesn’t work.
Does it have to be a brand new account or account that was opened in the past and hasn’t been used.

  • can you make some promos for existing users??

Thought this might be a good opportunity to try it, no dice.

  • I've had an account for ages and never placed an order, but I get the 'not eligible' error.

  • +1

I opened a new account yesterday and this doesn’t work

    • +1

As soon as your order or claim an other promotion your uber eats promotion codes goose is cooked

      • +2

I didnt order or claim anything. I just opened a new account.

        • +5

Won't matter. I did this last time and the fact I tried to use a promo code (that didn't even work and placed no order) still triggered their system to say I was no longer a new customer. I called and cancelled my uber and ubereats accounts. Dodgiest customer service experience you can get. Other companies can have my money.

      • +3

As soon as your order or claim an other promotion your uber eats promotion codes goose is cooked

You cannot apply a 2nd 'new user' promo code

Once you have applied one, even if applied 12 months ago, your stuck with that one.

I expect most likely this is the case for everyone saying it doesn't work on their old account they never used. They most likely put a code in. Then that locks you out from entering any other 'new user promo' .

  • +3

    Doesn't work

  • Is there a minimum you have to spend?

  • Ran out my debit cards. 🗿

    • +2

Under what scenario? Existing account never used, or completely new account?

      • +1

        completely new account

        • +1

Would you try the referral code for at least $10? Or too late?

          • +1

@passwordistaco: I entered a referral code and it was added. Hope there's no problem when I order.

            • +1

@truth000: OPs code didn't work..neg from me as I bought a $2 Sim card. Used referral codes anyway.. but v annoying.

  • +2

Thanks OP - worked for me. Member but never ordered anything before

  • Not eligible. Brand new account. There goes dinner :/

  • Impossible to cheat the system unless u have jail broken device.

  • +2

The code prob only works with people who have signed up but they never purchased anything in X amount of days or weeks. People who freshly sign up looks like they are not eligible.

  • +6

FYI for others that didn't receive the $20 off email and can't get this deal it seems CashRewards actually has a deal for $14USD off UberEATS which converts to roughly $20AUD too. Is for new customers only. Linky - https://www.cashrewards.com.au/uber-eats

  • I have $15 off referral code (pretty much all in random referral link top of page only give $10).

I don't think mods will allow me to post it though. I did message them a while back, but no response.

Maybe if you look at a friends uber eats account (or another of your own account) , you might find one with $15 off referral. The $15 off referral gives zero to the user that refers, but $15 to new user . You'll find all the referrals in 'random' link above, are $10/$10 ($10 to referrer and new user).

  • +4

    So many SIM cards wasted.

Not sure if this deal always had the targeted tag, but I'm pretty sure the description always said "Intended new users only."

That's a bit of a giveaway that it's not going to work for all new users, so most of the negs this deal has received are invalid.

    • -5

      thank you

    • +2

If the deal was for those "intended", what is the point of spamming here? The least OP could do was report the post to add the Targeted tag and in the mean time, put [Targeted] at the front of the title. OP is associated with Uber Eats and so should not have any problems regarding the details of the deal.

      • For these gig economy companies, "Associated" could just mean that OP drives for Uber / UberEATS. Unless OP confirms otherwise, it's unlikely that they work for Uber's marketing department. OP's account was created on 10/3/2008 which is before Uber was even a thing.

According to the revisions history, OP posted this deal at 16:47 on 22/2/2019 and it was last revised by a moderator (neil) less than two hours later at 18:30.

Most negs (including your own) were posted after the last revision was made. There are many deals posted on here (especially eBay deals) that are specifically targeted towards certain customers. It's a deal for those who are targeted, so it's fine to post them here for people who may not have seen the coupon in their registered email address inbox.

        • +1
          1. OP should declare how he is associated.

          2. I voted based on his original post and took into account the revisions made by neil.

          3. Those posting eBay coupons are average users who are not "associated". By declaring your association, it makes sense that OP has a more in-depth knowledge into the deal, or, otherwise, state that you don't.

          • @askbargain:

OP should declare how he is associated.

Sure. I can almost guarantee that it's no more insidious than driving as a contractor for them.

I voted based on his original post and took into account the revisions made by neil.

There are three valid reasons for casting a negative vote. Which category does your negative fit into?

Those posting eBay coupons are average users who are not "associated". By declaring your association, it makes sense that OP has a more in-depth knowledge into the deal, or, otherwise, state that you don't.

Again, the rep guidelines provide more information about this. OP can clarify if they wish, but I'm fairly sure that this post doesn't represent some Machiavellian plan hatched between mobile providers and Uber to get people to spend $2 on disposable SIMs. I'll happily wait to be proven wrong.

            • @Pantagonist: Reason for negative vote: Major issues with retailer

It is recommended that reps respond to comments and reasonable enquiries about their deal, product or service. To assist with this, reps are automatically subscribed their deal posts.

Where is OP to answer any questions?

Even then, Uber is notorious for charging people even though they have used a discount code. People have to literally screenshot their orders and argue with support. If this isn't a major issue, then I don't know what is.

              • @askbargain:

Reason for negative vote: Major issues with retailer

No worries. I expect you to consistently negative vote every deal from Uber that hits the front page on OzBargain from now on.

Where is OP to answer any questions?

Probably out driving for Uber, if my assumptions about OP are correct.

They do this, but I've never had an issue receiving a refund from them when they're proven to be in the wrong. I expect you've probably had the same experience? On the flip side, if you screw up because you didn't read the T&Cs thoroughly, you've got to wear that cost. It's only fair play in the bargain hunting game.

OP bothers to make other comments but not reply to the criticisms.

                  They do this

                  Exactly.

                  • @askbargain:

I expect you to consistently criticise every negative vote.

I will if it seems clear that the reason why the person has cast it is due to their lack of reading comprehension.

OP bothers to make other comments but not reply to the criticisms.

OP's last post was 6.5 hours ago. OP has posted a grand total of 4 times in this deal (1 comment revoked). It's clear that OP is not interested in camping in here, hanging onto every word posted by illiterate bargain hunters.

                    Exactly.

Yes. What's your response to the rest of what I wrote?

Just because you don't have a negative experience with their service doesn't mean everyone is satisfied.

                      • @askbargain:

Did OP mention who would be "intended"?

User "oyozzieoy" posted a comment about an hour after OP originally posted saying that they received an email about the offer. That, combined with the "intended" requirement just reinforces the fact that it was a targeted offer. It always pays to read the comments. The fact OP didn't mention it is further evidence that they don't have a good grasp of marketing and are unlikely to work as an employee of Uber/EATS.

Maybe don't post it at all if you can't be bothered to reply.

Pretty sure there are no rules about needing to follow up deal posts with a certain number of comments on OzBargain, unless you can find some for me?

Just because you don't have a negative experience with their service doesn't mean everyone is satisfied.

Being denied a promo code that's been validly used is a negative experience. The fact that Uber takes steps to rectify those issues is a positive experience. The two experiences cancel each other out. If you don't know how to advocate for yourself in line with advertised terms and conditions, there's not much I can do to help you.

Is it possible for someone to part of the "New Users Only" and "Registered with Uber/Ubereats before". New suggests a new account. If you already have an account, it doesn't count as being new, it just means unused.

Pretty sure there are no rules about needing to follow up deal posts with a certain number of comments on OzBargain, unless you can find some for me?

For someone who is associated, it would do well for their brand.

The fact that Uber takes steps to rectify those issues is a positive experience.

Uber manually changed people's orders to remove the promo codes. Just because they finally give up doesn't mean it cancels out their wrongdoings.

Intended new users only. Intended. In-ten-ded. Definition.

I doubt that anyone driving for UberEATS who earns a couple of bucks per delivery really cares about Uber's brand image.

Uber manually changed people's orders to remove the promo codes. Just because they finally give up doesn't mean it cancels out their wrongdoings.

About 6 months back I benefited from redeeming a "$20 off for existing users" promo code for UberEATS that I probably shouldn't have been able to access. The code successfully applied to my account and I used it for an advance order so that they couldn't revoke it from my account. They still tried to revoke it retrospectively, but after I pointed out that the transaction had already taken place (i.e. I'd consumed what I'd ordered) they relented and gave me my money back. I accepted the risk that they would try to charge me full price before I entered into the transaction but I was confident that I'd be able to advocate for myself in the event that they did.

You, on the other hand, appear to think that you're entitled to redeem a $20 credit on your UberEATS account that wasn't accepted through the app (because you weren't eligible) and want to bitch about it being everyone's fault but your own because some Uber driver posted it on OzBargain with pretty clear T&Cs that you weren't able to comprehend.

You do understand the difference between your circumstances and mine, yes?

You are assuming that OP is just a delivery driver. Instead of making up these things, why don't we just look at the facts. OP has ticked the associated box. OP has not said how he is associated. So maybe just stop saying he is just a delivery driver.

You do understand the difference between your circumstances and mine, yes?

The distinct difference is that one is made for existing users and one is for new users. So you can't compare the two.

                              • @askbargain:

Again, OP should be clear on who would intended if he knows, or else mention he doesn't know.

If that was a major concern for you, perhaps you should have asked that question in the follow up comments section and made sure you were eligible? What you seem not to understand is that OP is under no obligation to reply to any posts in this deal discussion. Where does that leave you? The only option from there is tilting at windmills.

The code I redeemed probably shouldn't have worked for existing users. That's the difference. If you can't apply the promo through the app, you don't get to contest the promo code charge back when it happens. Capiche?
