I purchased Global 20cm G2 Cooks knife and 8cm paring knife from this seller at $134 delivered.
Good price and quick delivery !

    • Recently? Was looking for a couple of decent knife's

      • @Xiaomi are these good knives?

I've had the same set for around 4 months now and they're great knives, however you should consider purchasing a good knife sharpener after a few months. Also make sure not to wash these knives in the dishwasher or they'll develop rust spots. Just hand wash and make sure they are dry before putting them back in the block to stop the block from getting mouldy.

    • Might wait for that set to come back up…either way, great deal

  • This is a good set, at a great price!! Have an upvote.

  • I want one of these sets but maybe when it's down at again $240.

Unfortunately I just can't give good feedback on these knives. I've previously had a paring knife, chef's knife and something that looked a bit like a santoku (but it's called something else), and my friend has had a whole set in the block. Our experience has been the same, small chips appearing on the blade while chopping only vegetables and deboned meat, and rust spots appearing near the heel of the chef's knife. For the amount of time that I used them they were honestly in pretty poor condition. I also didn't find their single-piece construction to be particularly comfortable.

A similarly styled set of knives is available from a brand called Furi, and from what I hear they're just as bad, if not worse. Avoid at even the cheapest prices.

If you're looking for European styled knives I'd recommend a slightly higher pricepoint with a brand like Wusthof or Henckels, or for more Asian-styled blades and designs, Shun, Miyabi, or Kasumi. I guess I'd call myself a culinary enthusiast, so their prices don't put me off too much.

On YouTube, America's Test Kitchen recommends Victorinox Swiss Army Fibrox Pro 8” Chef's Knife as their hands down winner in the chef's knife category, and the brand is available through heaps of online retailers. Link below for the review:

    Good hunting!

I’ve got a global chefs knife, carving knife, paring knife and flexible santoku style one and they’ve been used daily for 10 years or more. No chips in any of them. Mine go through the dishwasher and get sharpened properly a few times a year and with a diamond steel weekly. I can’t fault them.

So moral of the story is, YMMV

      • Going by your testimony I can only agree that MMV, we have had profoundly different experiences with the same product, and mine were never even put through the dishwasher. I hope you're still enjoying them :)
