    Was lucky to arrive just in time to pick mine up at Devonport, Tasmania.
    They were just about to cancel orders as some people have already mentioned so well done to anyone who got their cheap orders.

    Got mine, rushed to check OzBargain as soon as I got back…sure enough, marked as expired. Got my confirmation email just before 2PM and picked up shortly after (lady commented how quick I was…just nodded and ran out as fast as I could before they could flag me down). Wife couldn't understand why I didn't look at a filter and wrench "since you were already there."

  • I have gotten a call, which I missed, but no email to cancel, so I am going to try go in late or on Saturday and hopefully it will still be valid.

  • I just got a call saying order had been cancelled and refunded.

    Had already received my SMS and email to come and pick them up.

    • And just got another call saying they will actually honor it!!!

      • Their legal team must have got the better of them - small price to pay rather than face negative backlash.

    Just got a call from my local that they have received an email from head office stating that they'll be honoring the deal for those that got the confirmation email. This was after they initially told me that they wouldn't be honoring it. Kudos to SCA as they definitely didn't have to, ripper deal!

      Better than a full page ad in the national paper that would run in the $thousands.
      Good move SCA, Ozbargainer's favorite auto parts store.

  • is this bad for my madza 3 2011? my mechanic told me that this oil was too thin for my car.

    • Check your user manual , usually they will have couple of suited oils based on weather conditions that you drive

      Usually they recommend thin oil for hot weather

    • SCA website can tell you if it's suitable for your car. I wouldn't be surprised if your mechanic just didn't want to give you a discount rate because you supplied your own oil.

      • +1 , i think most mechanics won't mind if we supply parts , i always buy parts online and my mechanic only charges labour per hr

    • It's fine, I have the exact same car, have been using 5W-30 and 5W-40 interchangeably, no problem so far. knocks wood

    • I'm pretty sure it's the recommended viscosity?! Check your user manual

      • in the user manual, they recommend 5-30w or 5-40w and castrol recommends 5-30w castrol edge too. but when the machanic put his oil in, it felt quiter than 5-30w oil, maybe its thicker so makes less noice :)

    • It's the recommended oil on Castrol's lube guide.

    • for a new car its fine .. for a car 5+ year old with 100k on the odo then in summer its better to run 10-40 or 10-30

      in winter 5-30 is still ok.

    Picked it up an hour or two ago with no issues. Spotted 10-20 bottles behind the register waiting to be picked up. Said to the staff member, "lot of people buying oil today eh?". He said that he thinks its a price error and until head office told him to dishonour the orders then shrugs.

    Chatswood let me pick up 1 order, SMS confirmation received.
    Had put two orders through, just trying my luck.
    The guys there are quite friendly, asked if he could have half of it after seeing the price on them

    • You are lucky. I just called Chatswood store asking why I haven't received the pickup message yet, the guy said they have no stock however the orders just went through regardless. I placed my order at 1:35pm and now still waiting for an update. sign

      • That sounds like a BS excuse to me - the old 'we have no stock and it oversold trick'. I'd go to the store and ask "Then what are all these ones on the shelf then?"

  • I ordered earlier and got a call within half an hour saying they had run out but a shipment was due on Friday. I havent heard anything yet, so it might still come through but not hopeful based on the comments above.

    Worth a try I guess.

      Try see if they honour it now, provided you received a order collection email.

        Went back there, asked for their email from the head office saying not to honor the orders.
        The employee offered to call the head office so I'd talk with them.
        I did, saying I received a confirmation email and text. I'm not imagining things.
        What does the confirmation stands for?
        It's not "perhaps pass by the shop and maybe you can have them if there's stock or anything".
        Anyway, apart apologies, I didn't hear anything else.

      I walked in fully expecting to be denied the product, and i was ok with that.
      Pricing error, it happens, doesn't entitle anyone to anything.

      I think myself lucky i get a couple of jugs, won't be flogging them on Gumtree like some of the others here are, i'm actually going to use mine.

        Totally agree with you, it's an obvious pricing error and pricing errors are covered on the SCA terms and conditions of trade. Good to see some stores honoring the price error. It's why I continue to shop at SCA.

    Update - after reading here called the store and informed them that they should've received an email confirming eligibility for people who received a confirmation email. Long story short - they will honor 1 order (2 cans) per customer, which is fair enough I suppose.

    They also said that store received a "number" of emails from headoffice regarding this deal :-)

                  I got an sms about 30 mins after I placed my order. Then I picked it up on my way home and they didn't say a word about it.

                  I was simply adding that I didn't just randomly turn up, I did actually receive and SMS.

                  If I order something click and collect I'm not going to rock up to the store until they tell me it's ready, or at the very least I would call to save myself the travel time.
