Please specify that price is only for eBay Plus members only.

    • Cost me $68 (non eBay Plus member). Hope it is not fake, the one I purchased last week from an eBay seller was fake!

      • Have just received 256gb cards this morning -> running H2testw, will report back once completed

        • +1

          All good, as below:

Warning: Only 244141 of 244160 MByte tested.
          Test finished without errors.
          Reading speed: 73.5 MByte/s
          H2testw v1.4

  • Nice one, paid $66 in Jan for mine. Put it in my phone, and will never get close to filling it, but it's still neat to have heh

    • +3

Should have waited man, you could have saved $2 😉

      • Nah, reckon I'm gonna wait another 5 years so I can GET it for $2 :)

  • What happens if you put one of these in a phone the recognises max 128GB? Can you just format the 256 card as a 128 volume?

    • There is 128gb as well on another listing from futu.

      • Got that, thanks.

I’m wondering because I don’t know the answer and would like to. I know if you put a 32GB card in a 1st gen Tomtom Rider (that only recognises up to 4GB), the Tomtom will format it as a 4GB volume (approx).

        Does Android do this too?

        • +1

that might be because the tomtom only read FAT32 formatted SD cards.

Your phone is probably older. It should be supported.

Phone manufacturers tend to list the max card capacity supported as whatever is the highest capacity card available at the time. There is nothing fundamentally different in spec in the 256 over the 128. It's still a MicroSDXC.

    15% off for non-members, 20% off for members — costed me $68 as a non-member.

  • Can i use this on my raspberry pi main memory?

    • Memory card limits are software/OS based and not hardware.

It will work, but you need to jump through a few hoops setting up the card depending on OS.
The standard Noobs has steps needed.

      Google will be your friend.

    • I have found it is better not to place the big microSD card in as primary storage. If you make the primary storage the large storage, then when you are copying files to or from the primary storage it stalls other tasks on the RPi. However if you place the large storage in a USB socket, then other tasks can still operate from the primary storage. I buy microSD cards to use as large storage and use a card reader in the USB socket.

I have not tried this with a SSD, but they perform differently.

      • Thx, this helps

  • Any 128GB deals?

    • Yes, but proportionately the 256GB seems to represent better value. Strange.

Given concerns for fakes, this is a product type where best to use OfficeWorks 5% price beat. Eg see comment above by @s1dswype

The issue may be finding some in stock locally - but at least you can look that up online.

I needed two x 128 GB - one each for myself & better half. I was preferring Samsung Evo but happy enough to go with the similarly spec'ed SanDisk Ultra.

One Australian-based eBay seller with free postage https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/oz-love-deals had the SanDisk Ultra 128GB MicroSD for $28.90 for one or $52.02 two for so at OfficeWorks. As per T&C's of OfficeWorks PB G'tee these are the prices without entering any eBay discount code or coupon code. I had these in my cart and then in the OW carpark I double-checked both eBay availability and OW stock. Shelves only have item cards and while there a staff person asked me if I needed help. I gave him card for the Evo and the Ultra and said I needed two of which ever he had in stock. At this store stock is not in a locked cupboard, but rather in a basket in a file compacter behind the registers. He found they didn't have any Evo's but did have two 128GB Ultras. So at this stage I pulled out my phone with eBay app open and the 2 Ultra's in my cart and asked him, "So how does the PriceBeat work?". He seemed to need to check T&C's on checkout screen. His first try was that item needed to be identical, and since my price was for two it was not identical. I showed him that it was not a two-pack but rather just a discount for buying two and that it did not require a code or coupon to achieve it. With that he went quiet for a couple of minutes playing with the system and eventually said "That'll be $49.42, sir." So all good!

Apologies for long post - detail provided for those less used to requesting a price beat. I would have posted as separate item here, except that in itself PB, is not a bargain. Thanks to those who have alerted here in recent months that OW now includes eBay in its PB G'tee.

Happy with my result - but keen to hear if others have a better/different strategy on a common item like this…?

      • As above, 256GB card tested and no problems, kudos to Futu:

Warning: Only 244141 of 244160 MByte tested.
        Test finished without errors.
        Reading speed: 73.5 MByte/s
        H2testw v1.4

  • Here's a dumb question for geeks. Would it be ok to use this as a backup instead of normal HD?

    • Regular hard drive will be more durable over it's life, faster, and much higher capacities but won't be as resilient to drops, water and obviously it's bigger and heavier.

    • No.

  • Just got an S10 on a plan! Have a 64GB but this will be useful for the fact that I'll never fill it!

Was going to go 128GB,so cheers OP

    • Which plan u go?

      • Went with the Woolies 3Gb a month, I checked my usage with them (on the 10gb pre paid which is the same as the 10gb plan) and I averaged less then 3GB.

I also work from home so have Wifi the majority of the time, you can also upgrade it later on anyway.

        A tad over $65 a month for 3GB and a tad over $75 for 10GB with $85 netting you 22GB.

Its to own the phone too, not a lease.

Plus the free Galaxy Buds that I will sell as I already have airpods.

        • Nice, went with same :)

  • A good match for 4k action cameras, bought one.

  • Is this worth adding into the memory card slot of a MacBook Air and using it as extra storage?

  • +1

The deal has been marked out of stock when it's not.

    • Thanks, updated.

    • Still in stock for me too. Just bought one

    • Was out of stock this morning, but must have added more ?
