That will depend on your store's stock & demand. Some items may have been in short supply before sale.

eg Pepes Ducks were oos at some stores soon after midnight, so the deal was marked Sold Out. 7 hours later I checked my local stores - showed in stock, so Deal back. But stores never stock many. Now the Ducks have flown near me🐥

Nothing in my order is half price

    • +1

Well, then your not doing it right😉
The promotion excludes Woolworths branded, Low Price Always and Prices Dropped products.

  • I am guessing the Jamie Oliver chicken is Woolworths brand or something as it is full price.
I can't even sign up. I put in my details and it is telling me that the details are already on the system, when I have not signed up before. Tried getting a new password anyway but no email, might have to do with the fact I am not joined.

    • This morning (before it became crazy busy) it refused my valid logon. Requested to change password.
Retried same logon - it worked. But, email to change PW arrived 6 hours later!

It's not a good day to sign up or change details😱

Fresh meat half price would be good. Most of the stuff are processed food.

  • personally dont see anything special about the sale
halo top goes on sale quite often
as do the mccain pizzas and paddlepops.

those superfood bowl things r selling real well

good to stock up on the frozen fruit tho, thats going well

    • Some items, like Birds Eye Frozen Baby Peas 1kg for $2.37 is a steal, IMO.

    • +2

I never see paddlepops at half price. Keep in mind the packs at coles are 6 packs vs the woolworths 10.

    • +1

All Herbert Adams pies etc are half price -almost never half price and generally excludes items like the 12 pack party pies and sausage rolls.
Really good prices on some bulk packs of pastry,
Borgs spinach and ricotta triangles 1kg for $3.50

Agree with O O baby peas are great price

    • I got a stack of the super nature meals, but they are on sale for the same price at Coles at the moment anyway.

So many frozen items listed as "Sorry, temporarily unavailable."

    • Woolworths have already said that some items have sold out.

    • +4

Did we miss the Deal? 😴
Of course after a long day of this nationally promoted sale - if you arrive late you get the leftovers!

Try a different location. That message is for that store. But store freezers don't have an endless supply to meet the huge number of orders today!

Arriving late for a Deal is never a valid reason for a neg vote👎

  • Of course I can sign up on the app after the sale ends, couldn't before. I heard lots of people have had the problem of not able to log in or sign up.

  • Those that made more than 1 order, did you get an email to say that the 2nd order has been cancelled? I received an email this morning to say that my 2nd order has been cancelled. I took the conditions as 20 items per order, not per person.

    • Ordered through another account - so no.

Did it give a reason for cancellation? Or are you guessing it was due to 2nd order?

      • It didn’t give a reason for cancellation and 2nd order was the only logical answer I could think of at the time. Looks like it may have been due to a technical glitch when I tried to amend my order which in turn cancelled my order.

        • Yes, changing your order is most likely reason.

I considered doing that, but it would likely have moved my pickup time - meaning others would have had priority & I'd likely miss out as items would be unavailable at that later time.

Best not to take risks when so many orders are being received.

  • Tried to amend an order, but the items I needed were not available. There is no option to cancel the amendment, so I thought the original order would still remain. But they canceled it. I waited 30 mins on the line, and CS told me to reorder at full price. Epic!

    • Ah this explains why my order was cancelled. Hubby called Woolworths and they said that you should be able to reorder the same products at the discount price through the complaints hotline.

      • The hotline told me yesterday to not amend any orders unless I do not want all the original items. I was just trying to change times. They said system was not working properly and it was too risky!

  • Had 2 order's but one in wife name . But does look like 20 items per order ( no limit of order's pp) here in OP part . T @ C 's where ever Woolies hid them probably say otherwise . Rang store and ok for her to pick up both :)

    • It's always handy to have multiple Woolies & Rewards accounts (eg for family members). That way you get a choice of Rewards offers & place orders like this under different accounts.

I made two orders. One delivered yesterday and one scheduled for Wednesday and the Wednesday one was just cancelled.

    • I got exactly the same email for my Wednesday order!

  • OK, I just saw that this has already been posted, sorry.

Got on, ordered my half price freezer stuff for collection on Saturday - just got the following (did they really not anticipate the number of orders? fools!)

Important information regarding your cancelled order

I got the cancellation email, but I then got a text saying my order is ready for pick-up? Let's see if I get the $25 gift card

    • +2

Same here. Got the order cancellation email, then a text saying it's ready to pickup. Picked the order up minus just 1 item that was out of stock (Edit: I was told just that OOS item would be refunded). The $25 gift card has already been emailed through since!

      • I got charged the full amount, just a separate $4 refund for the out of stock item, so all good.

I hope no one didn't pick up their order when they got the SMS, thinking it was cancelled, then still got charged.

  • +2

Definitely check the status of your order online. I received the cancellation email, no sms or email saying it was ready, but on the order tracking section it said order was ready. I just picked it up successfully

    • -1

So you knowingly picked up something that you are being refunded for?
I assume you called Woolworths to make sure they re-charge your card?

Saying that … about 4 months ago I had an order canceled a couple hours after I picked it up. I didn’t see the email for a couple days. When I did I went to contact them but saw they had re-charged my card two days later so I assume if you picked up an order they will recharge your chosen payment method a few days later.

  • I picked my order up successfully on Wednesday, but I have just got the cancellation email and been sent a $25 gift voucher as well! That’s a win!

  • It's interesting to look at the sale page now. It seems like over half of the freezer items sold out? https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productgroup/140319-wk38-…

    • (At the store you have set)
Sorry, there's currently limited availability of some freezer items online. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
      Should be restocked soon.

  • Interesting. I just received an email that 3 items I ordered are unavailable. The rest of my order is ready for pick up. They are providing my a store credit for those items not in stock, which I have 1 year to spend with a minimum spend of $30! Looks like I will be cancelling my entire order.

    • You can reject the store credit and ask for a gift card to be sent out

    • Did you pay by gift card? That's the normal refund process. As I suggested earlier - contact Woolies online & ask for a refund (as you won't order again online). They've sent me gift cards in the past.

      • Yes paid by gift card. The refund should be in the same tender - with a 3 year expiry (I thought that was the law now), and definitely no minimum spend.
Yes that's the plan, contact them online in the morning, and ask for a refund and tell them I will never order again. Hoping for a good outcome :)

  • I picked up my second order today and there was an extra Halo Top in it :)

    • +2

That's the occasional advantage of ordering online - free items when the packer makes a mistake. Was given 2kg of smoked salmon one order😀

  • Like the above, picked up and also got a $25 gift card. Made my week.

  • -2

Giu so # in hard to min spend $30 at Woolies in a year . Feel sorry for front line retail staff sometimes . #mountainoutofamolehill

    • +2

The issue is that what was refunded is not of equal value to what was given up.

You pay with a giftcard that has 1) no expiry 2) no minimum spend conditions per use 3) can be used at Woolworths online + in store, BigW, Dan Murphys, Caltex, etc.

You're refunded a store credit voucher that has 1) 1 year expiry 2) $30 minimum spend condition and 3) only valid for Woolworths online, ie, can't even be used in a physical WW store

Sure, the voucher may be as good as a giftcard if you shop at WW online regularly. But not everyone does. Or someone may simply prefer to shop at their local Aldi or Coles for whatever reason. In either case, you are clearly better off with the gift card. The conditional voucher refund an unnecessary inconvenience that the customer has to suffer. I think it's reasonable enough to expect retail staff to avoid situations like these for their customers, where they can.

      • 1) 1 year expiry
        2) $30 minimum spend condition and
        3) only valid for Woolworths online

That $30 minimum spend is the normal minimum for online orders. So your 2 & 3 are same condition.

Unless you won't be ordering online soon, the 1 year to use isn't an issue.
Easily solved by contacting Woolies online. I've been refunded as a Gift card many times in the past. But agree it can be inconvenient.

The conditional voucher refund an unnecessary inconvenience that the customer has to suffer.

Several times I warned about issue with refunds if OOS, especially with payment by gift card.
I still paid that way (for discount) & received a $5+ refund code. No big deal - definitely not "suffering".

I've got so many 7% discount eGift Cards for other use😉

    • Contact Woolies online & ask for a refund as a gift card (as you won't be shopping online again). Have done that a few times.

  • Called my store yesterday after the pickup time passed without notification and the app said 'not ready'
Info desk girl said order was not completed and showing as pending.

No change to status this mornining so I decided to go in anyway. As with others above, the pickup was indeed ready and the picker said there was a meltdown with the online system not updating.

Unfortunately unpacking at home I discovered an item listed as supplied was missing so have now filled in an online form and waiting to see what happens next.

Prettey unimpressive from start to finish. First online shopping experience with woolies and doubt I will ever do another.

  • Why the negs?
I love this deal. I got all the items I wanted. Saved about a hundred dollars.

    • +2

      So where’s your positive vote?

    • Most were from those who tried to order before prices were reduced (in the wee small hours), who came too late & found nothing they wanted left, or impatient with an overloaded system. So invalid negs.
      So why no upvote yourself😉

  • +1

Picked up my items yesterday, everything was there, nothing was defrosted. super happy!!

    • Same !
