Lowest we've seen on the G7! Good deal!

      Hi MojoMiwo,
      Sorry now corrected, thank you

This is honestly a great phone, but I wouldn't suggest it if you like to have the latest android updates and security updates. The EMW version in this post still has the 1st of September security patch and is yet to get andriod 9.0 (pie).

Do you have a reception problem at all? Can pinpoint if provider of since I got this phone?

      • +1

I've never had a reception problem with mine, it's about the same as all the other phones I've had.

      • "Archaleas" Are you mentioning reception as you think that's why "Jamay" has not had recent updates?

Has yours been updated further? If so please let us know what security version and OS?

Maybe people are getting staggered/delayed updates because of different models/regions/carrier versions etc.?

    • Removed. Wrong comment.

The thing is that LG doesn't release updates, i had G6 before , the security patch was still from last year September. i sold it on ebay Last month and just ordered POCO F1 for $430 with PLAN10 code. Atleast i will get updates.

Don't know what region your G6 was, but mine has the February security patches

      • +1

Yep. G6 is Android enterprise recommended with patches within 90 days for at least 2 years.

    • You'll be happy with poco. Love it how with miui you can remove virtual buttons and use gestures instead

  • Is there still issues with LG phones and boot looping? Or was it only the V phones that were affected?

    • +2

G3 and G4 suffered from these and V20 if Im not mistaken.

I was very happy with my G5 and G6, going to give G7 now a shot as the price is very attractive.

      • +2

It was the G3, G4 & V10. They were all Snapdragon 808/810 based, which was the root cause of the bootlooping issue.

        • +1

          Yeah, V10 :)

LG just suffers from imago crisis, which reflects to great prices short after launch.

    • No reports of boot looping, but the LG G7 has such bad issues with Android Auto, that Google blocked installation from Google Play.

      Long thread on Google's forum

  • This phone has pie?

    • Nope. Maybe June this year it'll get it.

      But probably closer to September.

Time to switch to LG again :)

  • my lg q6 that i bought for $180 was not a disappointment, ill stick with that

  • Any good G6 deals going?
I like the LG's for the apt-x HD etc but $700 is too much for me to spend on a phone. (Missed the OP's deal unfortunately.)

    • +1

      G6 is $489 at mobileciti

      • Cheers, yeah saw that but as it's only 100 bux or so less than the G7 deal that I missed it might be wroth waiting for the next G7 one. :)

        • What else do you want in a phone apart from Aptx HD?

          • @HaveANiceDay: Nothing special, under 6" screen, reliable. I don't use it for work or anything but I do appreciate nice sound quality over blutooth. :)

            • @EightImmortals: If you don't need NFC or Band 28,the Poco F1 might be a good option?

The Nokias might be other options with Aptx HD, let me check again

I'd get a v30 over the G6. Best phone I've used. Insane battery life. Have been sub $500 for Aussie stock more than once

      • Agree 100%. Love mine. Will cost me <$390 when I claim the GST tomorrow. Amazing.

        • Where did you get it?

Also we are going overseas in under 2 months so I might be able to claim TRS on it?

      • Cheers will look into it.

  • I'd love to see a G7 for $4xx or a G6 for $3xx

    • Nah, I don't think you'll see any LG flagship phone under $400. The price drop trend usually seem to stop/slow down after it reach sub $500.
