[NSW] Sony Relocation Sale @ Sony, Parramatta Westfield Kiosk

130

Found this sale while browsing through Parramatta Westfield yesterday. The store is relocating to an actual store, rather than just being a kiosk in the middle of the mall. They had a few good deals, especially on their bluetooth speaker range. Was not expecting to buy a new speaker, as i recently just got a JBL Xtreme 2, but I couldn't resist the amazing price on the Sony SRS-XB41. Shoutout to Dennis Newsome, for the amazing customer service :)

From what I remember, here are the prices of the bluetooth speakers:

SRS-XB10: $49
SRS-XB21: $79
SRS-XB41: $139
Sony Google Assistant Speaker: $119

  • Do they have deals on TVs?

I believe they did, but not much

  • Xb41 for $139 is amazing

  • Do they sell phones?

    • Didn't you hear? Sony is not selling phones in Australia any more.

Personally, having a Sony Z3 compact screen stop working and then a Sony Z5 capacitive buttons stop working best they be gone.

I was in BKK twice last year and was surprised to see no phones at all in their flagship store so not surprised

Considering how many people buy Samsungs and Iphones, I'm not surprised.
Australians aren't exactly the most technology literate.

        • There might be hope if Sony fully absorbed Sony Mobile in Australia….
Maybe just have to buy from kogan at the mean time.

        • Sorry are you insinuating that Sony was on the forefront of mobile technology?

I wouldn't buy a Sony phone or laptop, they drop support almost as soon as you buy them and this has been an issue for as many years as I can remember.

          • @Maverick-au: Sony laptops haven’t been sold in years in Australia. Even head office in North Sydney don’t use them

            • @kerfuffle: What's your point?

              • @Maverick-au: You said they drop support almost as soon as you buy them, but they haven't sold them in years in Australia. So what's your point in saying you wouldn't buy a Sony laptop?

FWIW, I bought mine in 2012; still runs fine

                • @kerfuffle: Sony dropped sales of PC's entirely and throughout the life of Sony PC's they would generally only support the OS that it was sold with compared to other manufacturers like IBM and Dell who supported well into the future.

Sony have said that Sony phones, PlayStation and Sony cameras are under review and they may axe any or all three divisions.

They have a history of poorly supporting products and dropping them which is disappointing as Sony used to be a dependable high quality brand known for innovation but now they are chasing high profits.

I said I wouldn't buy a Sony phone or laptop because of the lack of support. What is factually wrong with this statement? I provided my reasons why and said this was an issue over many years.

No more a7iii's. They have the a7riii for $3399 so may be a deal if you can split the payments.

  • Does anyone have pricing on the available lenses and cameras?

    • Sorry no pricing but it is 15% off. Anything that needs to be ordered is standard price.
