  • Just a word of caution. I bought this last week. It says local pickup available but it doesn't let you choose a store. I am in North Lakes and there's a North Lakes store. TV wasn't able to be picked up from there though…. had to go to warehouse in eagle farm and they are only open until 345pm so that wasn't local for me.

I did get them to transfer to local store which they were happy to do.

Just don't assume as I did that it will actually go to your local store.

  • is this one significantly better than the Sony X9000F which i know is not OLED?

    • Definitely go for OLED unless you mostly watch in the daytime and need exceptionally high brightness for a room with lots of sunlight. Otherwise IQ on OLED is much better than LCD due to higher contrast

    • Got a 55 inch B8, like it so much now.

Used to use a Plasma TV so not sure how good LED can be. But the B8 picture quality is so stunning!! And the webos is quite good.

      • webOS and the magic remote is the best. Also came from Plasma and love the B8 picture

        • I am torn, as this one is going into a large open area, where it will have more light than usual. more a casual watching tv, as already have
75 inch for the theatre room.

  • Got mine from videopro, very happy.

But not a fan of TNT delivery they use. Their delivery system and client experience is from like 2003.

  • How does this compare with the previous deal from Sony - A8F 4K ?

    • Here's a comparison for you: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/sony-a8f-vs-lg-b8/60…

As you can see, very similar, both well regarded sets, but of note for the Sony
      * Better upscaling
      * Better sound from the tv speakers

The LG notably better for gaming (and software imo).

So see which one meets your needs and decide. For example if you aren't using an external soundbar/speakers and watching a lot of lower res content, the Sony might be a good look in.

      • Thanks…great read on the comparison…interesting that the Sony consumes much more power..

  • I bought one of these to replace my C7. Picture quality is great though not that happy with the sound quality. It's a big step backwards from the Harmon/Kardon speakers in the C7. This sounds tinny with Dolby Atmos turned on and muffled with it off. Need a sound bar.

  • +1

Cheers OP! I bought one today, looking forward to it!
