I'm getting "Unfortunately we were unable to activate your offer at this time."
    Would say this is targeted.

  • Worked for me. Thanks op

this is the 2nd promotion that has come up right after i booked flights within the week prior.. I can't win

My employer books my flights. Am I able to add the flight to my Velocity account and still get the extra points?

    • After your flight, go into your velocity account and hit "Claim missing points" enter the flight details and wait - they are usually pretty fast to credit them, but can drop the ball on regional partners - but then you just call them and they sort it out. Good Luck.
EDIT - code share are not eligible apparently.

Well code share is eligible provided you book through Virgin website. That’s how I interpreted.

    • You should still be able to have your velocity number added to the flight itinerary and get the points after.

  • What happens if I have already just now booked flights, then after I activated the offer?

    • Based on previous experience you won't receive triple points. It's for bookings made after activating the offer

  • This work for international flights?

    • Only those provided by Virgin directly

ie "Codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines other than Virgin Australia are not eligible for this offer "

  • cheers for the post - managed to book flights to Melb with the sale too!!

  • worked!! great OP thanks a lot!!!

  • Thanks - gotta book a couple of flights this week, so this will come in handy!

  • Shame it's not with partner airlines as I'm looking at premium economy with Delta to Dallas.

    • It is provided you book through the Virgin website.

      • Think it has to be marketed and operated by Virgin as well?

        • No it doesn't. I remember someone mentioned on here a while ago that they got tonnes of points for flying in Premium Ecomony to America with this promotion. If in doubt you can always call them.

          • @nightelves: That was me.

The trick with Delta domestically is flying in Comfort Plus class which is the first few rows of economy with more leg room. The trick here is it earns velocity points as ‘Premium’.

This offer is for virgin metal only booked via the VA site

            • @[Deactivated]: Wow thanks man. That’s awesome. So you still book ecomony but pay for the extra economy X?

              • @nightelves: Only on delta and booked at delta.com. On Delta it’s called comfort+ and virgin it’s called economy x.

You don’t get extra points or status with virgin and it falls under the economy fare bucket. With delta it falls under the premium economy fare bucket.

  • So what does this mean for those with status that already earn a bonus? In my case as Gold member I receive a 75% bonus already. Would this remain but you also double-dip and get the triple bonus too? I need to book a flight to LAX for the 2nd half of the year so this potentially could be good timing

    • I believe triple points on base points only. so you get total 375% of base points.

  • Would I get points for booking a virgin flight using the complementary virgin flight I get with my credit card?

  • -1

Pity it’s not triple status credits

  • Faaark.. just days after I booked virgin flights for my mum to visit.. :(
