Ryobi 125W 405mm Scroll Saw $89.89 @ Bunnings

170

Was looking at this yesterday after seeing the Aldi deal for next week. It was listed at $149 yesterday, but is now listed $0.10 cheaper than Aldi's version going on sale Wednesday the 3rd.

Same tilting table, air blower and led work light. Looks to be very similar if not completely the same.

  • This looks a good deal, used up all my vouchers to get the thicknesser though… Might still buy anyway.

Nothing to see here keep scrolling.

  • I'm currently learning why I need one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU3V3MdkaJg
Although I'm sure this isn't quite as nice as the one featured in the video.

    • In the old days you had a drill and sander. Now you need a full woodworking workshop because you always planned to make your own furniture and kitchen cabinets.

If you need this your Scroll is probably Stale.

  • Just beat me to it!

    • posting the deal .. by almost 2 hours?

      • Sure. Why not.

  • i don't imagine these are super powerful but could I get away with using this on a aluminium sheet you think? .. or can you get a metal cutting blade for that?

    • I'm wonder the same thing can i use this to cut flat bar. The motor is tiny its only 125w it may stall out or at least be extremely slow. If you use enough lube it should be okay just might need to clean the blade teeth. You can get blades that fit jigsaws to cut aluminium so this should be a similiar deal.
Aldi usually have a band saw that goes on special buys so maybe Bunnings will price match that. Its a better buy for aluminium cutting i might wait it out.

      • This is why it is on sale - Aldi have it this week in their catalogue.

      • I'm interested in doing some fine detail work in making some custom faceplate / IO covers for my PC with either perspex or 1mm aluminium. I was going to drill holes and file away.. but this seems absolutely perfect (based on the video above).

  • At this rate I’m gonna need another workbench.
