Are these the airpods 2? If so when were they released.
They were released a few days ago. The announcement was last week.
Along with the refreshed iPads that were quietly released.
Seems Apple is trying to get into services now instead.
They’re still all in on hardware too, but the updates were all pretty minor, didn’t warrant their own conference, but also didn’t fit into their services one. Apples done low key releases for years for incremental releases and spec refresh.

I haven't ever seen Apple do such a low key release.
They have a massive "It's Show Time" event scheduled. About a week before that, they subtly refresh their iPads and AirPods.They spend the whole presentation on services. They don't mention the fact they've got new hardware.
At this point, they can silently refresh every 3 months and still find people to buy it. I don't know how or why, but people just gotta have the latest AirPods? It's a cash grab.
Would I still look cool if I use these with an Android phone?

I'm using Airpods as my daily driver with Android phone, of course, you will miss out some features such as no auto pause when you take it off or you still need a iOS/mac device to setup, change settings and update firmware.
TBH, the sound isn't great and weak but because I don't like the other type of earphones that you have to put inside your ears so I'm settling with this for now.
Funny because I've used these with my Axon 7 with Linage OS 14.1, my iPhone 7 and my S10 as well as Shield TV.
Have to say that they work best with the S10 ironically.

To sell airpods and say it comes with charging case is like a car yard selling a car and it comes with an engine. I know that with gen 2 it has two different charging cases but it's seems so slimy.

Holy Crap!! Apple still selling these? Why don't they just include it for free in new phones? After all, the sound quality is on par with the standard earphones that comes free with other new phones. Sheesh……

I've been reading that the old airpods have garbage batteries and only last an hour from full charge after one or two years of regular use. Seeing this barely updated new model, it's quite obvious Apple wants to try and push airpods as a new bi-yearly purchase for people. And seeing how everyone is excited for basically nothing, it looks like a very smart move from Apple
