I sold mine half year ago for 300$ and it was near mint condition

    • +13

Yeah these prices on older models is crazy, I don't think they actually plan on moving any. Some places have the S8+ still for $1,000 lol.

  • Those bezels on the 7 are looking very out of date now

    • +8

Yep, the 8 also has the Bezels and that is a 1k phone.

      • +1

Do people actually care about bezels?

  • +3

Great price compared to the market, but for f_(k sake still a lot of money for a model approaching 3 years.
At least Apple products hold their re-sale value, still are selling (not asking price) used for around $400, so here you get 2 years warranty and fresh battery.

Just looked up the price for the XS MAX, $2k FFS

    • Days of Apple holding resale value are long gone markets flooded with multiple phone options.. $350-$450 can get a i7 128gb-256gb, i8 64g-256gb $600-$800, iPhone X 64gb-256gb $700/$950

Sold cracked iPad Air 2 for $250 last year

Cracked iPad Air 1 for $150 last year

Cracked iPhone 5S 2 years ago for $300

I think they still hold some good value

        • +21

Clearly you have anger problems.. get yourself a tempered glass screen protector lol

          • +4

@RogueWolf: Kids broke their iPads. First iPhone I ever broke playing that damn Pokémon go

        • +3

Cracked iphone 5s for $300 2 years ago? mmm..

        • Maybe if you stop cracking them, you might get even more resale?

Are you coating your hands with oil?

@lostn: don’t walk and use a mobile phone ……stand still or sit down.

      • +4

Most of those are refurbs if you’re looking on eBay. Most likely a non genuine screen (without True Tone) and a warranty the eBay seller may/may not assist with..

Boxed models with offical apple warranty still fetch a decent sum.

        • Also have to look out for Touch ID not working on some of these refurbs.

      • link me to a mint iphone x for 700-950 :/

    • I would love to meet a person who would pay $400 for a used iPhone 7 so I could have a good solid chuckle

      • +4

I want to see who buys a new iPhone 7 for $639. Have a good solid chuckle.

    • it's weird, people used to complain that iPhones don't last more than two years before the tech becoming out of date, yet retailers are still happily selling the iPhone 7 for these kind of prices when we're up to the 10s already.

  • $649 at JBHIFI if preferred Good for those who needs to clear their JB GCs

Such an old model, and going for a price comparable to the second latest generation of Samsung. Ridiculous that this could be considered this a bargain.

2-Year-Old iPhone 7 Beats Samsung Galaxy S9 In Speed Tests
      https://fossbytes.com/iphone-beat-samsung-galaxy-s9-benchmar…

      • The speed is neglible in real world situations. Suppose I have an S9 and you have iPhone 7 and we're both in a scenario where we suddenly need to call someone. The iPhone would probably be like half a second faster lol.

Other than that, the Samsung wins in almost all other areas.

        • -1

Suppose I have the choice between an S9 and an iPhone 7, I'd choose the 7 because I like the ecosystem and it's faster than the S9 anyway.

    • +1

that is true, i just got a used samsung s9+ for under $500 from ebay (10% off)

      • I would assume with Warranty remaining?

    • Can't compare apples to oranges ;)

    No headphone jack…?

    • No

    • +2

Never needed one in the last 2+ years of having. Phone without it

    • +1

Yeah still a deal breaker for me. Just like automatic cars.

You know what's also funny, I was at a friends place with a stereo that had aux. They all had iPhone 7 and up and were all over my phone to pick songs simply because it had an aux port.

      • Did your friend who’s house you were at have the iPhone 7? Cos it does come with an adapter

        • My friends who were newlyweds had just renovated and were slowly moving in their house. There was a mix of iphone7, 8plus, x, xs etc… But none had the adaptor with them and surprisingly none had an Android with aux port. Who carries an adaptor with them anyways? Even when I'm out and about with work, I leave my bag in one office (with adaptor in it) And usually travel to other sites. One time I was talking on my work iPhone 8 and wanted to use my headphones (which I normally use for my HTC 10) but ahhh had no adaptor. Simply put, it's an inconvenience.

          • @gezza90: If you own a pair of headphones that you use on your phone, surely you'd just keep the adaptor attached to the headphones 24/7, except for the odd occasion you need to plug it into an old stereo.

          • @gezza90: That’s why I asked if your friend who’s house you were at had the cable.

Or better yet, more chance of someone having a Bluetooth speaker / system somewhere

Limit of 3 per customer? ASOUIAOUSHAUSC^(&^@(&^@ I wanted to buy 4….

Who wants to come with me?

    • Go to a different store?

        /s

        • I was being /s also.

  • +5

my 80-year-old grandma would love this phone

  • I didn't think the 7 was such a big upgrade over the 6S. I'd go for an 8 myself or stick with the 6s if you need a headphone jack.

    • +2

      But 8 is just a 7 with a $1000 price tag…

    • +1

The 7 is a significant upgrade as it has much more ram which IOS favours.

I’m still rocking a 7 and it’s still very fast and usable.

      • +2

Only the 7plus has more ram (3gb). The 7 has the same amount of ram as 6s

      • Got one too and it's still great. Runs everything fine and see no reason to upgrade yet. Also don't think the 6s was waterproof. Mine went in the pool by accident which I don't think a 6s would survive?

    • +4

Agreed. Picked up a 6s for my son for a bit over $400 in the Telstra deal that was on here not long ago. We have a 6s, 7 and 8 in our house and I struggle to see any real difference between them.

  • +2

    not a bargain

  • 6 generation old phone for more than $600 lol

  • Didn’t they say luxury brands hold their value, look at Lv, channel etc, theyvclaim apple is a luxury high end phone and the price still deprecates.

    • Well 'they' are wrong.

Anyone can go and buy a LV, Gucci etc for 1k onwards (whatever item it is), and resell it, I am 100% it would drop in value worse than a 'luxury car'.
People that fall for that… means the marketing department continues to do a great job!. Fools!

  • -6

Zero chance this is a bargain. You can get far, far better phones at that price.

    • Agreed.

    • +1

Feels powerful to neg a deal aye. Next time try make it a valid neg

      • One day on and OP hasn't threatened to jump off a bridge or slash his wrists over it yet, looks like OZB are starting to grow up.

    • -1

Get you get a far better phone running iOS for this price?

  • why would they limit you to buy at least 3? it must be a lower limit, afterall who wouldn't want to sell everyone 1000s of them

  • +1

    Thanks OP, picked one up
