    For the 20x40", it's not bad. Colour and contrast are acceptable, although the midtones are a little dark and the vibrance is a bit muted. Provided that you have a high-resolution photo, the image is sharp if you're standing >150cm away from it, acceptable but a little grainy imo down to 70cm, then anything closer you'd see a clear loss in definition.

    I've always found colours on photo prints at Big W are always very muddy and dark. If they were same with the canvas I would not be happy.

    I've had better success with my local Harvey Norman for canvas.

    I used snapfish for several years with fantastic results for calendars but suddenly the last batch I had were awful.

    I guess even past experience may not be indicative of a good result.

  20x40" canvas prints are cheaper every day of the week through catch.com.au, but the prices of the other three sizes look good.

  I've had mixed results from big W photos. One batch has been good. The second batch had a slight green tinge, and seemed less vibrant. Big W did offer to refund the second batch, but I decided to keep it in the end. Not sure if the first batch was better because they were stitched panorama prints, while the second one was just a single shot (from a 16MP photo)

  I recently had one done from http://www.cheapcanvasprints.com.au/ . Quite happy with the quality, but their communication was pretty poor.

    Also their prices seem a lot higher? e.g. 40″ x 20″ is $96.25 (after discount)

      Yeah they are bit more expensive, I got a 32"x32" canvas and the difference wasn't that much. After receiving it I do feel the print is better than the big w prints. The paint is more of a matte finish while the big w is slightly glossy. You notice the canvas pattern more on the big W prints, while cheapcanvasprints seems to be a finer canvas pattern.
