I saw this deal, 2XU must be clearing out the old cervelo test team stock as they are no longer a pro cycling team. This seams like a pretty good deal and is direct from the 2XU store so is legit stock. Includes a long sleeve top and tights which RRP at $250 combined, and that is actual RRP (as seen in rebel). Also free shipping is included with the deal, so total cost is $99 for the set.

PS: first deal posted, please be nice.

  • Free shipping. :D:D

Checked out Wiggle and these were about $200 (I don't think I could find the exact ones), but jeez I hope they are warmer than my tracky dacks and jumper.

P.S. you should probably stick free shipping in the title.

    • Compression gear's not normally much chop for warmth - works okay as a base layer, but if it's open to the air it's only slightly better than bare skin. You'd be better off with actual running tights - if it's cold and I'm on the bike I'll wear a pair of those under my bib shorts, with a Skins top under my jersey.

    • +1

Compression gear makes me feel cooler!
I think it's probably because it squeezes blood out of the surface capillaries..

The idea is to improve circulation, and prevent muscle fatigue by helping to hold the muscle in place… This is not Thermal Underwear!
If you're looking for wanmrth, check out these Merino baselayer sets..

  • Looks good. I'll have to pop into rebel or something to test the sizing before I purchase though.

  • +4

    Very tempting deal.

edit: Sizing charts are under the respective top/bottom link and then "size chart" for anybody who's interested. Annoying it doesn't come up in search.

    • Maybe when browsing the store it'll come up with a sizing chart when you select a sizing. I know Skins does it.

      • You're right. Thanks.

Anybody who already owns a pair, care to comment on their sizing system? Was faintly surprised (and a little skeptical?) to find that for leggings I should get M (for 183cm/80kg), as I am normally L (I'm L for chest).

        • When I got Skins, I'm a small through their sizing even though I'm normally a medium with regular clothing.

        • pretty much need to get the size below what you'd normally choose..
          it's all about compression!

  • +1

cheers mate - was after some of these!

  • +22

I realised I needed these today after riding my bike in regular tracky dacks, getting them caught in my bike chain and subsequently getting dacked in front of Crown Casino.

Is this deal available online only or in store as well?

  • +1

    Just ordered two.
Great find, Bens. And free shipping is amazing!

  • with winter upon us, morning runs have been damn hard.
are these cycling tights and tops suitable for running? any have experience using these for running/jogging?
my skins tights are getting old.

    • they're probably more suitable for running rather than cycling….

      • really? i thought these were designed for cycling?
if i buy them, ill be using it for running mostly.

      • I thought it didnt matter, theyre just compression gear after all.

      • yeah it really doesn't matter, it's just marketing techniques.

      • probably true. i bought the compression tights and was a bit dissapointed they didn't have padding

  • Thanks champ!.. Been looking for another one like these! Pretty sure about the tights, but haven't got the top before, so guessing same size (fingers crossed).

While may not be a pro cycling team anymore, they still look very good.

  • Awesome deal!

Does anyone know if the tights have a chamois or are they pretty much like the standard running tights?

    • No chamois despite their labeling as "cycling gear".

Just wear over the top :)

  • Do people wear these to reduce air resistance or to show off their body?

    • +3

i do both…plus it stops my muscles from vibrating too much

    • It's about reducing muscle fatigue caused by vibration shock through the muscle..
      They do actually work!
I'm not convinced they'd be all that useful for cyclists though… not too much vibration/shock, unlike running.

  • +1

I believe these are more appropriately known as "Nut Crushers".

  • too bad its not for compression wear….

  • I'm quite tempted since I do like cycling but I'm not sure about an all black outfit, I don't have the muscles to balance it out :P And it looks more like a wetsuit. Good deal though, I'm currently using some cheapo Cell Bike tights but these look much comfier

edit: Its a shame I can't combine the tights with a cycling jersey on that website for a similar offer :( They look very cool

  • Do these keep you warm? Because there's also thermal tights in their range.

    • Would like to know as well.

      • Doubt it judging by the previous 2XU and Skins stuff I have bought.

  • Going by the size chart I should get LT for legs, but I'm 6"3 and pretty big so I'm not sure if this is right?

For the shirt it reckons I should be L, I measured my chest and it's about 103CM, I guess that's right…

    • -1

would you be able to post a link (or directions) to the sizing chart?
I had a look but oculdnt seem to find it

edit: never mind. i see someone has already posted it.

  • Anyone buy these? How do you get it into your cart for $99? Is there a Coupon/Code?

Adding individual pieces shows as $250 the pair. Not sure on sizing so not ready to buy, but curious all the same.

    • Add both and it will automatically be reduced to $99.

    • scroll down…..

  • +1

ST, MT, LT? what size are those?

    • +2

Small Tall, Medium Tall, Large Tall? Just guessing here, possibly for the super fits (i.e. skinner than average people with the same height).

      • I wish normal pants had these sizes. I always end up with pants that are too short yet fit the waist :(

        • There are long leg versions of most business pants brands as well as jeans at places like jeans west.

  • +2

I really like the feel of 2XU.. it's a nice tight fit but very light..
body science, puma are really thick. nike and ebay cheapos are not that good (too loose)
skins are good, these are better.. haven't tried skins400 series though.

these won't really keep you warm like thermals. if in doubt, try the smaller size end.. it's most effective when it actually 'compresses' the muscles.

  • Do these loose their compression ability if stretched out? I'm a tad overweight at the moment but intend on losing most of the excess. I'm wondering if these will still be suitable once I've lost the weight?

    • +1

these are probably as good as you can get for elasticity.
i bought small tights… and probably should have been medium… but through constant use, they are very hardy and have not lost elasticity.

  • Just ordered a set, so far only had experience with Kmart stuff, really looking forward for some good qualify compression wear.

Not a runner myself because I run out of puff really quick, so hopefully doesn't look lame to walk in this.

    • +1

If in doubt, walk at night until you get fit ;)

    • Is this reliable? Guess most people are under small.

      • You just use the one on the 2xu website although both charts are the same sizing.

      • This is from the same product (Highlytunedathletes also sells 2XU) so yes it is :) I couldn't find the chart on the 2XU site

    • Whoops double post.

  • Great Deal. 2XU outlet in Canberra had the standard tights on sale for $70 last week so this is even better. I believe these are the same as the standard compression tights/top but just with Cervelo Test Team on them and are not cycling specific as such. The test team used them for recovery off the bike.

  • these can be used in the gym right? All compression ones are the same aren't they?

Except maybe the ones with thick padding around the crotch area…

  • great deal. medium top is already sold out though, bummer.

  • +2

Yay, now I can go all aerodynamic mission impossible on my bike. Like a boss.

  • Ok I ordered some LT and L shirt, I should have got M but sold out, decided to pull the trigger before the other sizes were sold out. Hope it fits!

    • Im 6"3 and got the same - they should be fine!

  • Can anyone see the same offer for women?

  • Great! Ordered a set of these for the bike. Canberra was terribly cold, foggy and frosty this morning, these will be perfect under my normal bike gear.

    Cheers!

  • Just purchased a set, will be good to compare with the skins I purchased from 1-day. Thanks Ben.

  • I have a pair of the tights and they are fantastic, just got another pair

    Cheers

    • Did you buy just the tights (I can't seem to do that) or the whole set?

  • Tops - S,M,L sold out
    Tights - S Sold Out

  • My order status is "Order Cant Be Filled, Franchise (Qld)". Does anyone else have this status? I am from QLD. I purchased it at 8:37 this morning.

  • Damn. Sold out.

  • Amazing what Ozbargain does, this appeared on bicycle.net.au forum last Thurs and I bought a set (I thought it was a good price but didn't think of how good it was), then I saw this today and go to buy another set and most of the top's sizes were sold out!

Anyway, a XL 2XU top to ebay I suppose.

  • Note that the 2xu sale will be on again soon - the clearance so hold out!

    • I hope the clearance prices are better than this deal, but 1) from previous times, I don't think so (both re: available sizing and prices) and 2) only for Melbourne-siders unfortunately.

    • When? What is this clearance you speak of.

      • Annual end of season clearance. Generally random sizes and colours.

        • is this instore or online or both?

    • Here is that it should look like:
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/27403

      Got great stuff last year!

  • Says only the MT and LT of the tights are out of stock, all sizes for the tops are still instock?

  • Anyone have a dispatch date?

    • I haven't got a dispatch date yet. I ordered 15/05/2011 sometime in the evening.

      • Yea I still don't have one :(

  • Got it before all the shirts sold out :)

  • Pfft, I dont think im going to get my stuff.

  • +1

My first order got shipped today - took about a week.

  • Still no dispatch date here :(

  • Mine was dispatched today. I received an email from Auspost with tracking details.

  • -1

Good deal, too bad it has taken 8 days for the item to go from Hawthorn to Mount Waverley :S

  • Ordered 16/5, dispatched 24/5

  • Is it supposed to be very tight fit? I am well within size L but some how the fit is really snug. I hope it doesn't get damaged due to too much stretching.

    • The store actually suggests picking the smaller size. I have done this as I was on the borderline and it is really damn tight.

  • The fitting is very tight. The top chaffes on my armpits, and pants fit but really need to pull it hard past my feet.

Wondering if this is natural? Maybe I should return it and ask for an upsize.

    • pants fit but really need to pull it hard past my feet

Exactly the same issue, the bottom opening of the pants is really small, have to put in some effort to go pass, but once on the pants fit snuggly.

May be that's the way it is.

    • Haha, stole the words right out of my mouth. Came here to post the exact same thing! I was going to ask if anyone wanted to trade a medium sized top for a small because the small is rubbing like hell on my armpit. Seems silly to have the join running right under the armpit.
Pants were a hassle to get over the heel over the foot, but they fit well once on.

Pretty sure you can't return these btw (unless faulty) because they are a sale item.

      • I think I read that they can be exchanged in the 2XU stores on the website but only exchange and no refund.

        http://www.2xu.com/Support/1/30

        • I took the tags off. The guy I contacted there told me no exchanges unless it hasn't been worn and the tag is still on.

        • did you throw them away?
If you got a friend in clothing retail he/she might have the tag gun. You can attach the tag and return it then.
I have done it before but not with 2XU.

          Although mine was unworn!

  • Just got my pair. It's a bit tight (maybe I should have egone with a small… instead fo xs), but otherwise comfortable. Quick question though… is there a technique to getting the pants on? I feel like I'm going to rip the seams getting the legs over my feet.

  • Getting these on and off is pretty much exactly the same as my wetsuit, difficult. I cant wait until a super hard training session leaves me with not enough energy to get them off!

  • They are great, got a tight set so they provide a little bit of warmth.

Same here regarding the bottom of the leggings (foot holes) very tight!!!

    Thanks again, great bargain!

  • The top chaffs, but I think that has to do with the seams rather than the tightness.

It fits for sure, just not very comfortably. Maybe that's how it is supposed to feel? Can anyone verify.

  • I got my package today, pretty pleased with the quality of the product!
I ordered 2 one in XL and one in LT, wasnt sure which size tights to get!
My LT compression tights were infact the ELITE model advertised on the website for $185 and they fit me a lot better than the XL size! I guess I know which ones ill be keeping! :D
