Hey folks i picked one of these up last night the Black and Decker inline electric screwdriver. Yep i have become that lazy lol. Seemed like a good price at $14.50.
The quality is good its all plastic but feels good. Its got a fair bit of torque only 5nm but it does okay better than the older ones. Bonus you can use the torch without turning the whole tool on.

The LED lights are good without the extension on with the extension the LEDs suffer output loss but still usable. It is big its a tad wide but nothing not manageable.
I prefer this style of electric screw driver In shape as the extension makes it more of a normal screwdriver shape and so i can use Eneloops in it seeing as it won't be a everyday tool. No maintenance just grab batteries and go.

I think i bought the last one at Rockdale Sydney.

  • This any good for disassembling computers?

  • I SEE 19
but without magnetic, its really frustrating

    • +1

The extension tip itself is magnetic the bits are not.

      • thats enough then.

        • Yea it picks up screws fine just tried.

    • If you are female and hold the wrong end, you can get rid of some of the frustration.

  • So these don't take lithium Ion? They take a 3.6v alkaline? Are they rechargeable? Does anyone know the battery size code?

    • It takes 4 AA batteries.

      • How on earth is it 3.6V then? That's 6V or 4.8V, depending on what batteries you're using, why would they step it down to 3.6V?
Not asking you, this just seems very weird.

        • +1

I just checked the back of mine its a typo its a 6v tool 4 AA cells in series

  • i would think you could magnetize the tips yourself if needed ?

    • Yea you can or buy tips that are magnatised. Just the tip mind you.

  • Is there a difference between an In-Line screwdriver, and a regular screwdriver?

  • $19

    • What state are you in? I bought one last night in NSW?

  • $19 in QLD.

  • whenever i see screwdriver deals, i think of this - everyone still have/using theirs?

    • Yep, still a great screwdriver!

    • Still kicking myself coz I missed out

    • Yes, still going strong.
