  • Ha, they still have an ad for it in the flash module

    • nup ad is gone

  • yep removed from site, doh, was there 10 minutes ago, doh!

  • Looks like you have to spend $55 after discounts to get FREE shipping.

    • +2

Correct. I'm sure it's been mentioned several times, and how to get EVEN-MORE value with it anyway. $20 discount from playing the game, $10 discount from buying a box of paper. Buy a cheap item, get free postage.

      1TB USB External
      5 Reams Of A4 Paper
1 Box Of Teabags (or some-other ~$7 item)
      $55 Delivered to your door.

      That's insane!

Cheapest USB3 1TB in the country is $75+ shipping. So take $20 off that! Then throw-in a free BOX of paper, along with another ~$7 of value… AND FREE SHIPPING. Anyone that makes a negative about that needs to slap themselves (softly, if you must).

Work's getting my receipt for the office-supplies, and I'm getting the drive for almost FREE.

      Get Onboard!! Woop-Woop-Yeaaaa-hah!!

not into teabagging, but to each their own.

          lol

  • ** POOOOF ** Disappeared. All links, including the flash animation, all lead to main page.

Managed to get one, and my wife got one too. But others at work all got their hopes up :(

SO-many family members could've done with one too. Would've still been great to get the Staples name out there.

    WDTV Live = $98
    1TB External = $30
24/7 Channel With >200 HD Titles = Priceless!

    ** EDIT **
Back in stock, back on sale! w00t!

And, links broken (out of stock) AGAIN :(

    …Watch this space…

  • Nice find, thanks OP!

Received mine just now, awesome deal, HDD for $35 :)

  • I ordered mine on the 16th & I haven't received mine.

    • Got mine :)

Thank you Breadie, gshorty21 and especially to Staples :)

From something that was said on the other thread, I actually played a round of that game and got the official email telling me I'd been registered for the competition and was being given a $20 voucher.

I didn't just put the code in.

      • Yeah that's what i did to. I played the game & I got the email with the code.
Then I placed an order & used the code.

From what someone said, it sounds like the flood of hits yesterday crashed their system and among other things, lost new records in the user and/or logon table.

        -> people cannot log in
-> they will take a while to fix the system up trying to work out how to get the data into the system
-> it will take longer as they are trying to still do business
-> new users are being given customer numbers that were given out before the crash, which leads to people then seeing the details of other people

Perhaps the problems people have experienced are to do with a system crash and not to do with some backlash that someone imagined.

        Time will tell.

Meanwhile, people might want to wait and see if they get their order on time
(was it orders before 3pm -> delivery next day and orders after a 3pm -> delivery the day after?)

If the order has not arrived after the expected time, give their support a call. Be polite and pleasant and just check:
        - they have your details on file
        - they have your order
        - what is the expected delivery time

If the staff are struggling to recover the system, they will appreciate your understanding. :)

I just received my order through Star Track Express. :D

  • I just got mine too, fast delivery took 1 day.
    Thanks for the post

  • Got my HD today… it's dead… won't turn on or even light up… :( - Faulty power adapter :(

  • got mine 2day.. now Im trying to open it to see waht drive is inside.
How do you open it, no screws at all????

  • Wow fast delivery and is fantastic, thanks for the post

  • Could someone please post up an invoice or proof of purchase? It would be very helpful

    • U cannot do pricematch or else anyway in this case anyway.

      • Why not?
A few websites are willing to price match if i can produce proof of the deal or proof of purchase. Because staples have sold out, i can't use the link as proof. I need an actual invoice :-(

        • +1

better double-check the T&Cs of the other sites that claim to do a price match. some will say they won't price match on items that are sold out or not in stock at the other site (ie. at staples).

          Eg. Officework's version is:
Identical products are price matched against online stores but as with any other kind of store, the item must be currently in stock. When price matching online stores we also take into account the added cost of delivery. If the identical product can be purchased and delivered via an online store for a total price lower than the one we are offering, we will beat that total price by 5%.

Got the HDD today. My god it's the ugliest drive I've even seen.

  • ordered Monday and delivered yesterday. Very fast delivery. The drive is pre-formatted in FAT32. I re-formatted in NTFS. Works great.

    • I loaded 500gb onto mine before I realised it's FAT32. Formatting now to start all over again!

    • It write in speed of 50mb~ Lol

Great price. Does the job it's meant to. Ordered Tue arvo. Got it Thur arvo.
Staples (Corporate Express) shipped it in a bigger box without packaging to stop it moving around but it seems ok.
Comes with Nero BackItUp & Burn Essentials software. Reports as Samsung HD 103SI drive.

    • the same~

  • how do you open it??? want to rip out drive.

    • Yes, it's a tight fit. You need to slide out the inner brown box (Hold it over something soft and slightly shake it to let gravity then slide it out). Then it becomes obvious that the inner box lid lifts up.

      • +1

i just ripped out the damn box.

  • +2

i received mine today (19/05) 2 days after ordering it
