2x Australian Made Leather Belts $28.50 or 3x Belts + Coin Pouch for $38 + Free Shipping @ Close The Deal

440

It's been a while since my last sale and I've received a number of emails requesting a repeat.
I'm in the process of clearing out the last of the buckles and leather stock to make way for some new ones, so sizes and colours are limited.

For orders of 3 or more belts, we will be giving a free leather coin pouch (chosen at random, not Aus made).
This is strictly limited to the first 180 orders and will be on a first come first served basis.
I will update this post once they are gone.

From the previous deal:

I have two great offers on Australian made leather belts (imported buckles & rivets).
Offer 1 - Buy two get one free (+ coin pouch)
Offer 2 - Buy one get the second half price

Straps are cut, clicker pressed and burnished in Springvale with resizing, skiving and buckle assembly finished in our warehouse in Dingley Village. We use leather sourced from a few of Australia's remaining tanneries.

We have changed the design from the belts offered in the past.
We no longer use a separate retainer for the buckle. Instead the belt is a single long strap of leather that loops around the buckle.
This has made producing them much easier and has allowed us to keep costs down.

Oil pull-up [SKU: LC121 & LC122]
These are vegetable oil infused leather belts. NO AZO + NO CHROMIUM for those who may be sensitive to common tanning chemicals
These are known as hunter leather belts, they are supposed to show signs of wear and scratches.

Belts are 39mm wide and have removable buckles. Measurements are taken to the middle hole.

I've made taking advantage of these offers as easy as possible. All you need to do is add the products you want to the cart and the cart will automatically apply discounts depending on the quantity.
Do not use the "express checkout" option, this skips the section where the discount is applied.

Free shipping Australia wide
International shipping is calculated at checkout.

Please have a read of the offer details and how to choose the right size (NOT THE SAME AS YOUR PANTS SIZE)

Please note that I have not factored in the costs for change of mind, exchange, purchased the wrong size etc. Which is why for these bargains we will not be accepting returns unless the product is faulty.

This deal is for the 39mm belts only. SKU's LC121 & LC122

Thanks!

  • Hi OP, I'm a 32/33 around the waist, should I be ordering a 34?

    • Hey :)
      how did you measure?

I always recommend going up a size if you fall in between.

  • +2

Got a few of these last time. One the "rivet" unscrewed and was lost. On the other the belt loop went missing somehow. The belt leather was nice though.

    • Real full grain leather? I've been told when it says "genuine leather" it's not the same thing as full grain leather. The listing says both.

      • +1

Really not sure sorry, I'm no leather expert. It's better than the usual Chinese crap I normally buy.

      • +1

They are full grain leather at 3.2 - 3.5mm thickness

        • +2

If this is the case, you should remove any reference to "genuine leather". This is an actual grade of leather that is lesser than full-grain.

          • +1

@johnno07: While grades of leather do exist, they are unofficial
It allows sellers to pass off cheaper stuff as “genuine” leather

While this leather is full grain, it is genuine, and heaps better than “genuine” leather

          • @johnno07: From the site:

            1. Real full grain leather: Leather Craft Australia' belts are made from real saddlery grade leather. Known for its toughness and durability. These belts are thick and they won't stretch!
You will see many sellers with "Faux Leather", "Reconstituted Leather", "PU Leather" amongst many more. Don't be fooled, these are not real leather. Fake leather belts are not durable, and if they get wet in any way, they will stretch beyond use. (who wants a belt that stretches!?)

So I think genuine leather in the sense that it is not Faux , Reconstituted or PU leather.

              also from the site
              https://www.closethedeal.com.au/how-to-choose-the-right-belt…

Leather belts will naturally stretch by around 3-5%. Each strap will exhibit different characteristics that we do not have control over. This is part of the reason why belts have additional holes for the variance in sizing and to allow for natural stretching

              so

these belts won't stretch, (who wants a belt that stretches!?)

              and

              which is true OP
your belts won't stretch (as per you stretchy belts are not as superior as your belts), or they will naturally stretch?

(cue to stretch or not to stretch comments)

              • @docians: I've reworded this on the site. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

What I mean by natural stretching is that the leather belt will have an initial stretch or permanent set. This occurs in the first week or two of use. Full grain leather belt will have an initial stretch as all the fibres extend, loop around the buckle extends, the hole you usually use loosens up a bit. All adding a little length depending on the size of the belt (longer belts will have a permanent set a few mm more then shorter belts)

Other belts that are not full grain will stretch and continue to stretch throughout their life.

                Hope this answers your question.

      • Unfortunately the terms used to describe the quality of leather have been bastardised by cheap asian imports. We have been manufacturing leather goods for over 25 years and when we say "genuine leather" we really mean genuine leather. That's how we did it 25 years ago.
Then all this cheap man-made, bonded, faux, reconstituted material came in with "genuine leather" stamped all over it. The chinese stuff only needs to smell like leather and they will stamp "genuine leather" on it.

This has tarnished the term for those who use it properly.

Many of our products that are made from real full grain leather or top grain leather say "genuine leather" as this is requested by many brands who believe the term to be true.

    • +3

Yep same here on both the belts the "rivet" unscrews and never to be seen again. Have managed to keep the loops so far but the do like sliding off.

    • +1

I've got a few of these belts and would recommend.
The "rivets" do come loose, so I've used a little thread-locker on all.
      Problem solved.

    • Same. Rivet fell in the toilet bowl. Still use it once in a while.

    • Sane happened to mine too.

  • +1

Be aware that even though the company is Australian and the belts are made in Australia, the last time I ordered I got stung with an overseas taxation fee. ( I really should get 28 degrees)

Wrote to OP, asking why the overseas taxation fee? still waiting for a reply (since August 2018)

I'm assuming that once he had closed the deal, he couldn't be bothered :)

    • spent quite some time on the phone with Paypal Australia when @blibster has this issue and was guaranteed that no charge was from myself or Paypal. My account is based in Australia.
You will need to contact your credit card company to ask why they have charged this fee as some credit card companies associate all Paypal transactions with the US based company and charge an international fee accordingly.

      • +4

thank you so much OP for your reply albeit late by 7 months
nice to see you are eager to answer now when you have belts to sell, but weren't as forthcoming after you had sold your belts the last time (I believe as a store rep, you do receive notifications automatically)

No issues with the actual belts, value for money

You will need to contact your credit card company to ask why they have charged this fee as some credit card companies associate all Paypal transactions with the US based company and charge an international fee accordingly.

I pay with paypal regularly eg Myer, Dominos and don't get charged an overseas transaction fee
But others and me were slugged with this fee, when we purchased belts from you

First you chose to ignore my queries for over seven months, and now you pass the buck to paypal!
Belts good, customer service not so!

Bought $19 39mm brown belt & got 2 great "seconds" 32mm Black for $2.50 each! All Full Grain Leather Belts. Total of $24 delivered in 04/18 seconds Deal & 3 for 2 Deal. Such a good price for good looking leather belts👍

Am pleased with my purchase every time I wear one. Only issue was loosening retainer - tightened once & hasn't come undone.

  • +3

Got these in the past and no complaints. Wear my brown one daily for work!

  • +2

happy with my belt. Get your old belt and measure properly (dont just guess).

    • +2

Easy to shorten by undoing retainer, cut off excess from buckle end, use offcut to line up hole & punch new hole, reassemble. (Ordered too long.)

      • +1

yeah, thats an option. imo it's just easier to get out a measuring tape in the first place, and not have to deal with cutting/punching holes.

        • +2

Of course. Just a suggestion if make a mistake - longer can be easily corrected. Only about a minute to modify.
I didn't have a belt where I was when ordering. Took waist measurement & added too much extra.

    Hi Rep
I have ordered 3 Belts, but when I checked out via PayPal, I got charged $59.83, I have send you a mail with the order ID, can you please have a look

  • Hi, I've sent you a message. Can you please make sure to include the coin pouch.

  • Thanks! Ordered 3x

  • Which coin pouch is it?

  • Hey OP, i tried to buy 3, but it always comes up as 59.83. How does this deal work?

    • It looks like you have added products that are not included in the above list. SKU 122 and 121 only.

  • +2

If you are using these with light coloured pants the colour run on to the cloth.

  • Hi Op, big ask, but what are the chances of getting the brown New Quality Genuine Leather 39mm Hunter Leather Oil-Pullup Belt (LC122) with the silver buckle?

  • +1

These belts are great value I have picked a brown and black In the past very happy!

  • +4

Got 2 from a previous deal, unfortunately I don't recommend.

Despite the leather quality being pretty decent the rivet/ buckle itself is poorly put together, as others have mentioned mine also popped off in addition to one buckle being discolored/ tarnished. Also one belt had arrived shorter than the other despite ordering the same size and the same size being stamped on the belt.

Ultimately if you can't wear the belt all you have is a nice piece of leather.

**edit- removed neg, to be fair last ordered in Sep 2016, quality may be better now

  • +1

Thanks ordered 2. Ordered last time also. Good Quality

  • Thanks! ordered two

  • I will give these a try as my cheap Chinese belts are bonded and separate often, so this has got to be an improvement! Looking forward to seeing how the leather is on these. Was a bit slow so limited options this morning in my size (40/42) but got a couple of black and a brown Hunter leather belts although no mention of the coin pouch in the order so not sure if that was meant to show up but will wait and see what comes.

  • +1

I bought 2 from the last deal. They are surprisingly good quality belts.

  • +1

    Any deals for 4 belts?
I am very happy with the belts bought from the last offer.

  • +1

2 leather belts delivered for $28… can't complain

  • Whats the main difference between the two belts listed? From the pics it's hard to tell. Are they suitable for work?

    • 121 has a more grainy finish and will develop more with age.
122 is plain with little to no grain.

      Thanks

      • Thanks. Ordered two

  • I'm curious. How do these belts compare to something like this which I've been wearing everyday for a year?

    • Nice. Would buy this but they charge shipping

  • I need size 36 in NEW QUALITY GENUINE LEATHER 39MM FULL GRAIN DISTRESSED LEATHER BELT Black & Brown

  • Hi OP, the couple of the belt types I looked at only went up to size 48. Do you have any that go to 50?

  • Rep, can you please look into my belt order last year. I've emailed the contact us page with no reply. The belt buckle is faulty and the pin will not secure the belt - https://photos.app.goo.gl/BghEbDGasqETzJKx8.

    • Rep, can you please look into my belt order last year. I've emailed the contact us page with no reply.

Going by my experience, you may be a bit late
Might have to repost this when he posts his next sale
I just hope I'm wrong though

    • No worries i got your email and will arrange a replacement buckle.

      Thanks

      • Thanks for getting back. Can you please confirm address before shipping out as my business address is currently unattended for next two wks.

      • No worries i got your email and will arrange a replacement buckle

OP really interested to know why you take months to reply
More so, why you reply more readily when you have belts to sell

Almost seems to me that if I buy some belts, and one happens to be a bit faulty, I would have to wait until your next sale to get a response

        • DrABCDEFG had only advised me of this faulty buckle a few days ago (purchased last year) and I have arranged a replacement.

In regard to not getting back to you earlier about the transaction fee imposed by your credit card. I had wrongly assumed that you would have read my response to Blibster that stated the fee had nothing to do with me or Paypal and that it would be best to contact the credit card company.

What did your credit card company say about the fee?

          • @closethedeal: To his credit, they got back to me relatively quickly and have given me a tracking number for the buckle. It was negligent on my part not to try the belts earlier, so I didn't expect to get a resolution since its been a while since I purchased.

  • +1

Got my belts. Looks great. Thanks op.
