Cheap belts are not a bargain if they don't last. Being full grain leather these ones (hopefully) should. Just ordered some myself, and threw out my old belts that were falling apart!

I really dislike these 'deals'… what if I just want one loaf of bread, Woolworths!?

    • +1

The worst is BWS who want you to buy 2 cartons of beer a lot more cheaply than one.

      • The worst are the ones like Danoz Direct who pretend to be giving away one for free.

Just a sneaky way to sell more items.

      • buy 2 cartons to get them at $1 more per unit than dan murphys is selling them at (ignore that we're both owned by woolies thanks)

    Or more recently, this deal.

I bought then, and am impressed with them. To my unfashionable, untrained, but bargain-hungry eyes, these belts look like genuine quality items and will last me years.

They look like that but they are not. Check my post history with this store. I can provide more evidence if necessary.

Would love to see some photos of other belts from this store that have been worn a lot to prove me wrong.

I will then stop the negging.

      • Fair enough. I haven't worn mine much. I appreciate your diligence

      • I agree, the store rep keeps making excuses;
like yeh not every belt can have the same exact leather, but when it comes the full grain leather as far as I know the differences that can be seen within them are cosmetic ones as in how some full grain ones might wrinkle more and wrinkle in difference places,

every full grain leather product I've owned never had issues with durability and quality though,

if you buy actual full grain leather belt they'll last you a decade, I in fact did get one 8 years ago and it's still going strong, and you certainly don't have to worry about if you're being too rough on them, same with my red wing boots,

and lastly im honestly sceptical because of the price, not the discounted but the original full price, just seems way too low

  • Look good, website says they're Australian made. Just to clarify; on the "leather belts" page linked, only 2 belts have "SALE" marked on them, however it works for all 4 on offer.

  • Pity there is only one size of the black Hunter belt. Got some of the distressed ones. Cheers.

  • This product is offered with a 24 Month Manufacturer Warranty for private household use

How would they know if we use the in a commercial way?

    • From the blood stains.

  • How accurate is the sizing method? According to the site you shouldn't go with pants size (mine's 32) but measure from an existing belt (mine comes out to 91cm / 35"). Does that sound right?

    • Sizing is normally from the buckle to the middle hole, yeah. 2-3" larger than pant size is pretty normal

      • Thanks for the clarification

Pant size = belt size I guess?

Also if ordering over size, can one simply cut to a shorter more suitable length?

  • Do you know if they can do 1 for 1 sale instead? 3 belts is a bit too much for me…

I purchased some of these belts around 3 years ago and they are still going strong. If quality has remained the same should be all good.

  • Might want to note that these belts are 39mm wide which is on the wider side and more appropriate for casual than business wear.

I bought a full grain leather belt for around the same price from DJs about a year ago. The belt itself is decent quality and is in good shape but the tanning job is terrible and a lot of it has rubbed off making it look pretty beat up. Because of that I’d be wary of a cheap belt even if it is full grain.

    • Ever consider using the coloured leather boot polishes to correct the appearance?

      • +1

Sounds like it'd rub off and ruin more important items

        • I dunno, holding up those pants could be worth it!

  • +2

The buckle styles suck. Lift your game!

I find this is far too common. You're stuck with either cheap or ugly.

You're stuck with either cheap or ugly.

This is why I'm still single.

      • +2

If I saw this deal whilst single I should of bought them, but since I am married with kids I have to buy them because it is all I can afford.

    • The buckles are replaceable according to the description, so you can buy some gaudy decorative ones off ebay!

  • +1

I bought one 4 years ago from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/156658 and is still going strong.
