  • Can the 139 or so people who +ve this deal, comment on where they were actually able to obtain the deal ??? Cause it seems like most chains are out of the loop about the existence of the deal.

Subway has gone down hill substantially both in terms of quality and quantity of the ingredients. A few years ago, each sub would be packed to breaking point but now they barely put anything in the subs. The change in available ingredients was also ridiculous and half the time my local subway dont make the subs properly. Subway has gone from a must have to one that is eaten in emergencies only (and dont get me started on the ridiculous "wraps"!)

I've usually got a deal for 2 for 1 on the Shop a Docket app, there's a few on the Gold Coast offering this as far as I can see.

Surfers Paradise and Pacific Fair are definitely included.

  • FYI, this is for Tasmania only.

Just confirming this worked in Wembley, Perth. The manager said any offer through EatFresh should be accepted by every store. I only showed him the picture posted by OP.

    • But its not showing in Eatfresh.

  • Got denied by my local subway. The manager said they were not informed about the promotion. If they had been informed they would have participated as they participate in most/all promotions. So its not available for their area/zone.

So when you click/tap “go to deal” it sends you to https://www.facebook.com/121835037855314/posts/2301485623223… then when you click/tap get offer it send you to https://www.facebook.com/121835037855314/posts/2301485623223… which mentions that the offer is Tasmania only in the t’s & c’s

    To OP,
Those who were able to get a successful 2 for 1 (many by the looks of it) have benefited from your post.
The negative commenters just have gripes with how Subway handled the whole promotion/deal.
The terms should just be clearer. (Subway’s fault entirely)

Worked for me at the Canberra Centre store in Canberra.

Having said that, the girl serving me looked very confused and took a good look at the email in my phone and then just charged me for 1 footlong sub.

Would be interested to know how other people go at the same store..

  • Didn't know they made Sandwiches! Thought they only made bread Subs & Wraps?! 🤔

    • -1

Both of those are types of sandwiches. As are burgers, hot dogs and burritos.

      • -1

Not according to Wikipedia or the dictionary…

"A sandwich is a food typically consisting of vegetables, sliced cheese or meat, placed on or between slices of bread"

        • +1

Conveniently left out the rest of the sentence…

A sandwich is a food typically consisting of vegetables, sliced cheese or meat, placed on or between slices of bread, or more generally any dish wherein two or more pieces of bread serve as a container or wrapper for another food type.

          • -4

@Hybroid: So… Which part of "2 or more pieces of bread" don't you understand?! Maybe this will help… A SUB, which is a ROLL that is cut, then opened up to form a v & filled with ingredients & closed back up. Care to explain where more than 1 piece/slice of bread is, including your bold text? 🤔

            • +1

@Micko179: The part where you seem to ignore that a roll is still a type of bread. Subway may slice it from one side to contain the ingredients better but it could equally be cut all the way through into 2 slices. A subway roll is still a sandwich.

In fact, they call it as such themselves:

              Our Types of Sandwich Bread
              footlong sandwich

              https://www.subway.com/en-US/MenuNutrition/Menu/BreadsAndTop…

Since you like to use Wikipedia as your frame of reference:

Subway is an American privately held fast food restaurant franchise that primarily sells submarine sandwiches (subs) and salads.

              https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subway_(restaurant)

              Still unconvinced?

              • -1

@Hybroid: It's nice that you choose to use 'MERICAN terminology & chop n change when it suits you! I couldn't give 2 $h!t$ what they call it, facts are FACTS… but don't ever let them get in the way of your 'stories'!

                • -1

@Micko179: The job title for a subway worker is sandwich artists so you are wrong.

      • A submarine, or sub, is definitely a kind of sandwich, not sure about a wrap, although the flatbread is, obviously, a type of bread.

        This sitesays, very succinctly, "No".

On the other hand, the British Sandwich Association includes wraps in the definition of what is a sandwich:

The British Sandwich Association (and let's not forget that the British invented the sandwich)* defines a sandwich as: Any form of bread with a filling to include traditional wedge sandwiches, as well as filled rolls, baguettes, pitta, bloomers, wraps, bagels and the like.

        *bracketed words added by me

        • +1

Please all of you pull yourselves together. Never thought i’d see a reference from ‘the British sandwich association’ on ozbargain.

        • Sorry to disappoint you BUT FACTS are FACTS, the downside is they don't care about you or Marketing Hype & cannot be changed! Full stop!

  • FYI this is not valid at the Chatswood Westfield location.

  • We're in Tasmania and Subway in Mowbray had no idea what we were talking about and would not honour the deal. Go figure.

    • Pity, any BOGOF food deal should work well down there, given the apparent widespread polycephaly.
