  • Facebook store/ scumtree new sealed $900-$1000 likely epp sellers

    • +1

Good. Flood the market and drive down prices

  • They've also taken $150 off the 512GB version.

    • +1

$60 Cheaper @ Harvey Norman, $1413 with Officeworks Price Match.

  • Thinking about getting an import one for that snapdragon performance (10%, and better audio & camera processing), see the anandtech article.

I get to salary sacrifice a phone per year so it makes the risk of warranty failures a bit more bearable.

    • Just salary sacrificed S10E for this year, coming from Pixel 3. Not sure about the camera quality or audio, I've had no issues. According to most of the articles the exynos gets better battery life which is more important to me, plus I use bluetooth anyway ;-)

      • Are you sure about that? Snapdragon battery life appears to be better than exynos in S10 range especially the idle drain https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10/how-to/battery-l…

        • To be honest, they all have different results, and the results vary marginally. If you are that picky, I wouldn't even get an S10 as you would be forever second guessing your choices. I was reading a few reddit subs where people compared the two, and also there are a few youtube videos showing that exyons gets better internet browsing (https://www.anandtech.com/show/14072/the-samsung-galaxy-s10p…), video watching and phone call battery life compared to SD.

Check this out, it's a classic example of he said she said and there is no actual hard evidence. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10/how-to/battery-l…

          • @onlinepred: Apparently samsung have released a firmware update ASC8 that has addressed some of the exynos battery issues. But yes as you said I guess it depends how you use your phone one chipset might be better than the other but there seemed to be more people complaining about poor SOT with the exynos

            • @didelly: Yes if your watch videos or browse the net or make calls it appears Exynos. Anything else like running benchmarks etc then SD does better

    • With import models, you cant use samsung pay right?

      • Yes no difference. I used Samsung pay for my note 5 last time that was bought in Malaysia.

      • +1

Only difference is your wouldn't be eligible for the promo from Samsung Pay AU.

  • Is AUS stock coming with Exynos chip? Heard that its performance is worse than snapdragon.

    • +1

      Yes.

    • it's always Exynos here….SD is for South Korea, North America & i think Europe.

      • Korea gets the Exynos. Even the 5g version they will get will be Exynos.

    • +4

Yes this is true, if you daily run benchmarks you will notice the performance decrease, so if you run benchmarks a lot, then don't get the exynos.

      • +2

what else do you use a phone for? benchmarks baby… all day every day

        • +2

I also take photos from all different phones and compare them in great detail to decide which is the best. This is my life now apparently.

          • +3

@onlinepred: and of course you keep these in raw format right? for you know endless hours of touching up? at which stage only 512gb and 1tb phones become a must!

            • +1

@scud70: Is there any other format? I'm not a simply guy you know, I take everything to the extreme. Only the absolute pinnacle of awesomeness, even if it's barely better, I go to the effort of achieving that greatness.

              • @onlinepred: you sir would be a wonderful in app purchasing customer! get them gems!

      • Thanks, mate.

        Snapdragon Version:

        Cheaper price (probably)
        Dual sim
        Stronger CPU performance
        No local warranty

        Exynos Version:

        Higher price
        Single sim
        Weaker CPU performance
        AUS warranty

A bit toss & turn though:(

        • +1

Exynos has arguably better battery life too. Also weaker CPU performance only matters if you are running benchmarks all day. If you are concerned about price, like I was, I just got the S10E over the S10.

          • @onlinepred: I read on Anandtech Exynos version has weird display issues

            • @317638333: Well you should get the Snapdragon for sure. Otherwise the Exynos will have something you would never notice slightly different.

        • Just buy another brand

  • 150 off should be for all retailers

  • Saw that it's 1168 at Harvey Norman

  • These 4G units at this price seem like a waste of time…

  • +1

    am I seeing this wrong?
officeworks sells exact model for cheaper anyway?

Wow just released and the price is already dropping like a rock. It's as if $1000+ phones are out of reach for normal working folks.
