Amazon Australia 10% Double Cashback (Uncapped, Starts 9PM AEST, Ends Midnight AEST) @ Cashrewards

4030

Hi all. As a prelude to our upcoming 5th birthday celebrations in May, we've doubled Amazon Australia Cashback to 10% uncapped (up from 5%) from 9PM to midnight AEST tonight. I've also included some handy links below that may be helpful for some.

Please note that from midnight, Amazon AU via Cashrewards moves to a tiered rate system. What this means is that Apparel, Shoes, Handbags, Jewellery and Watches will all be at 10% Cashback, while everything else is 5%. This gives us greater flexibility to promote certain categories going forward. We hope you enjoy the change, and thank you as always for your support.

  • Awesome deal, nice one TA!

  • Dammit! Just went through and ordered a heap of stuff on Amazon this afternoon… Now this comes up!

    • -2

same, just bought $500 worth of stuff yesterday :(

      • +4

        Cancel and reorder.

        • +2

          ok done

let's hope CR will track this one, otherwise I will cry lol

thx for the person who mentioned live chat, the "cancel" button had already disappeared so i thought it was too late, but live chat cancelled it for me :)

    • same boat >_<

    • You people should really have a wishlist, and when this happens, bam!

      • +1

        I don't because:

        1. Amazon AU was much dearer than Amazon US. Which in turn meant you could often find what you were after cheaper elsewhere by entering the title, UPC, and/or '$' sign - using a search engine.

        2. Many of the Amazon US items were not on Amazon AU.

        3. The occasional sale + Amazon Prime were the exception, but it hardly fills a wishlist with items. You have no idea what sale items will be.

        Have these things changed recently?

Is it eligible for US Amazon on this 10T storage?

  • +13

I'm starting to build a fort in my office with the amount of Amazon boxes I have coming in.

    • +2

Same here. Serious question, what do you do besides putting it into the recycling bin? I'm thinking this: https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/286611963769073586/

      • +2

You do this. It's how I rocked up to my school graduation. Screw fancy cars!

      • You can start your own online business and use them to ship stuff XD

      • I've been flattening them and using them to kill grass in my garden bed by smothering it. Just reached full coverage, and it's not a small garden bed…

        • Literally just place the cardboard on top of soil/grass? Or mulch on top of the cardboard?

          • @Ameowzon: Depends what you're doing it for. It's either to kill the grass/weeds off, a few weeks later till and plant. Or lay the cardboard down and immediately do a 'no-dig garden' on top.

      • Or be a true oz bargainer and flatten them and sell them as packing/moving boxes like I do

  • -4

So annoyed I literally ordered $1500 worth of stuff today!!!!

    • Just finished my Amazon order 10 minutes ago feeling satisfied till I checked Ozbargain again and saw this. Well played TA.

      • You can cancel within the first or half an hour after you made the order. Then reorder, problem solved!

        • orders both shipped around 1.5 hours ago.

          • @Krazyy: Contact Customer service via chat to cancel

            • -1

@Mostly Melbourne: Maybe he should put his big boy pants on and stick to the agreed deal which he was happy with this morning.

              • -1

@Charity: But no-one is happy losing money. ;-D (There's no way of telling he was 'happy' with the prices this morning either for that matter.)

    • Cancel and reorder?

  • So, Amazon (AU) has 10% cashback until midnight on international items?

Purchases paid partially or in full with gift cards or Amazon credit are ineligible for Cashback.

Never mind then. Going to use Amazon credit. Damn, excludes me from all cashback..

    • yeah, super stupid! I couldn't deselect the credit either. Need to spend on another thing before ordering high value items

  • -1

Thanks TA! Now on to find something good at Amazon..

  • I Knew it!
Luckily I waited. Was going to buy this arvo.

  • +2

Effectively $99/$180 after CB for the 512GB/1TB Silicon Power PCIe 3x4 NVMe SSDs which is pretty good.

  • If I cancel and reorder something that I just used Cashrewards for 5% (that 10TB HDD), can the same item be tracked again at 10%?

  • says 5% cashback?

    • +2

      Starts @ 9pm

      • thanks.

      • uh it's already started right?
        edit: nvm didnt refresh

  • +2

Yes! Been waiting to get myself a better bin…(https://www.amazon.com.au/58L-Motion-Sensor-Rubbish-Bin/dp/B…)

Yes not the most interesting thing…

    • +2

      Don’t lie, it’s really a mother’s day present.

      • +2

Plot twist: neo-X is the mother!

    • +3

SmartBin™ is honored to accept your waste!

    • +1

This is a decent bin. Definitely recommended.

  • +2

Wait till 9pm to buy those 10TB WD Drives!

  • +1

I wonder if Shopback will have an amazon cashback for their birthday?

    • They normally cap it as well,$50 I think which is fine for under 500..

      • I'm predicting (based on their other deals) they'll double their 6% making it 12%.

  • Does this include the pay for Amazon Prime membership?

    • +4

Gift Cards, Vouchers, Charity, Non-Profit items, and Amazon Prime memberships are ineligible for Cashback.

  • So it's only 10% sitewide for 3 hours? Then becomes 10% only for Apparel? Am I reading that right?

    • That's correct. 10% on everything until midnight, then we drop back to categories…

Apparel, Shoes, Handbags, Jewellery and Watches will be 10% until further notice. Everything else, 5%.

      • +2

Sweet, cheers 👌 Usually only buy clothes on Amazon, so don't have to rush to buy tonight haha.

        • +3

Good call. Have a great night!

  • So after clicking Shop Now it says "Congratulations , you're on your way to 10.00% Cashback at Amazon Australia", but the Chrome extension says 5.00%. is it safe?

    • +2

100% fine. The extension takes up to 30 minutes to cache update. Even if you click out via the extension that's showing 5%, you'll be presented with you're on your way to 10.00% Cashback at Amazon Australia. That's what matters :)

  • Can we order international items via amazon Au and get the Cashback ?

    • +4

Yes, but only via this link.

      • Specifically That link or as long as via cashrewards Amazon link?

    • how long does it typically take to receive the confirmation e-mail? or for it to show up in your account page?

anyone received confirmation from tonight yet?

      • Sheeped it and ordered a 10tb. Had the cash rewards extension activated. No tracking email yet but the click got recorded….

      • Orders will be tracked & processed automatically into your Cashrewards account as pending within 4 days of purchase.

        • thanks, was hoping for an unofficial time to make sure it worked.

I know things like dan murphies for example usually show up within about 10 mins of the order.

  • +1 already ordered a bunch of stuff recently…boo

  • Dammit after we all bought the 10tb Drive!

  • What's the limit on the cash back? $50? I looked at the terms but did not see any figure.

  • Do we get tax invoices on amazon?

  • What's the limit on pre orders?
    60 days?

    • +1

Pre-orders are eligible for Cashback only if the item is scheduled to be shipped within 60 days of purchase.

      • +1

        Got ya.
        Thanks for quick reply.

        • +2

Amazing that TA working over-time late at this hour

  • Can anyone not log into Cashrewards via Facebook? Just getting "This URL Is Blocked: The URL "https://www.cashrewards.com.au/f23b9957dbf92bc" has been blocked from Facebook."

    • Is this happening on desktop or our mobile app?

      • Desktop

        • Can you please clear your cache/cookies, or try an incognito tab? I can’t replicate the error.

          • +1

@tightarse: Tried on a different browser and working. I'll clear on the other and let you know.

          • @tightarse: I'm still getting it on Chrome Canary cache cleared and incognito, but Firefox appears fine.

            • @blighst: I’ll chase this up for you with the tech team tomorrow and get back to you once I know more. So sorry for the inconvenience.

              • +1

@tightarse: No worries mate, it worked in one browser at least, and I got to use my prime membership to see how well Amazon fulfil a 30 pack of soft drink!

PM me if you need any further details.

                • @blighst: i had this problem too, since they have my email adress, I just did the whole forget password and reset so that i could sign in with email

  • +1

Thanks OP just signed up to cash rewards about to purchase two of those WD 10 TB drives :) I'll be using the link you dropped in the comments just so everything goes smoothly :)

  • Brings the Dyson v10 Animal down to around $600 - https://www.amazon.com.au/Dyson-Cyclone-Lightweight-Cordless…

Not the lowest ever but still the best it's been in a long time. This is the international version with the larger head not available in Australia. Dyson Australia will cover the warranty too.

  • +1

    Thanks

  • Some good board game specials, prices after cashback:

    Terraforming Mars - $54.
    Scythe - $81.
    Runebound 3rd Edition - $41.

Already own Scythe but very much considering adding Terraforming Mars to the collection

    • Runebound 3e regularly hovers around $35 mark (has been that price for the last 2 months at least), wait and see if it goes back down. Hyperboarea sub 40 also.

  • Hi guys,
Can anyone confirm if mobiles are eligible as well? I didn't see any exclusions but just wanted to make sure.
    Thanks.

  • +1

Just be a bit wary, I've had hundreds in cash back from CR but the only ones that failed to track this year have been for Amazon.

Plus you get the third degree on the follow up claim process. I gave up on my last claim in the end, it was too hard.

    • Sorry to hear you’ve been having issues with Amazon. The most common reason is below. Please also check out other reasons in the OP. Thanks.

IMPORTANT: Items must only be added to your Amazon cart after clicking from Cashrewards. Ensure your Amazon cart is empty before clicking from Cashrewards, as items added prior to clicking will not earn Cashback.

      • I'm fully aware and followed all the rules. Your customer service wouldn't even accept my Amazon invoice in order to follow up my claim.

        • Customer service would have asked for a correct tax invoice as available on your Amazon dashboard. There's no way they would knock it back for any other reason. Can you please give me your ticket number so I can investigate your claims. Thank you.
