awesome, thanks. Lucky i checked here before paying.

  • +2

    10% off

    • +11

      Maximum.

    • @Turd username checks out.

  • +16

Why don't they just give us 10%… this is worse than the regular 10%

    • cause i used a $20 discount on a $500 item. so really its less than 5%. Better than nothing. but there was no other valid code for my purchases.

      • +4

Just wait.. another will pop up within days… otherwise plenty of other shops out there…

        • i know but i cant make the seller wait. I made him wait yesterday already as i was expecing something to come up today. Plus it seems ebay will only do these silly 'eligibele' sellers only. At least i saved $20. the item i already saved $400 anyway as no one bid.

          • @Bruno28: ThE PEARL 10% was still valid yesterday on something I grabbed?

            • @cc23: didnt work on the item i won on bidding, i tried them all.

          • @Bruno28: I'm in the same boat, I've been waiting about 3 weeks now for a 5% coupon to go live (heck I was even hoping the 3% one would) - without all this eligibility stuff. I'm buying a $400 item, so this is literally the same.

  • +20

Yeah, nah. Shit coupon. They've increased the min spend AGAIN and the coupon is now MAX 10% instead of 10%.

    I won't be using. I will wait.

I've been spending elsewhere. Ebay needs to improve their offers or it's going to stay that way.

    • +2

100 agree! I'd imagine eBay would be releasing better value coupon codes, in order to fend off competitors like Amazon AU.

Baffling to see them doing the exact opposite!

      • +1

Baffling to see them doing the exact opposite!

They probably know that Amazon's offerings still pale in comparison to eBay's offerings. Amazon has excellent deals on a small number of products, but the rest of Amazon's products are either really expensive compared to eBay or just average. You can also get excellent deals with used items on eBay, which you can't on Amazon.

For the purchases I make, I don't see Amazon as much of a competitor to eBay right now. I've had plenty of good deals on Amazon, but many more on eBay. Hopefully the selection here will improve - once it becomes more like Amazon US, eBay should start to get worried.

    • I agree, but the problem w/ selling is you are either high volume or high margin. For ebay to offer decent discounts they need high vol, which is probably falling w/ our economy, then ebay can't preserve/up their incentives which causes us to not spend which in turn reinforces the cycle.

Ebay listen up, it's way easier for you, 1 entity, to break the cycle by giving us a sitewide 15% than for all of us to agree to buy more.

  • +3

Lol this is "maximum 10% off" with extra steps

    • I read this as

10% off, now with minimum speed of $200!

      • +1

        Me too, but worse!
<10% off, now with minimum spend of $200!

    • 10% off, minimum spend $200, maximum discount $20.

    • 10% or less if you spend $200 or more. The more you spend, the less you save! eBay is really teaching you a basic economy here, that ppl seem to have forgotten these days…

So the moral of the story is - don't spend more, just stick to exactly $200 if you want to maximize your savings!!!

  • So far so good went to collectables and worked :)

  • Can predict though the minimum spend going to piss some off .

  • +6

Thanks! Bought $220 goods yesterday and held off paying… so worked out well for me.

EDIT: Code doesn't work for me as the items aren't on the eligible list… this eligible items is bollocks. :(

  • +14

The exclusion list is longer and longer each time

  • +1

    Excluded Items: (profanity) You

  • Most of the 10% off are used to cover the Gerry tax.

    • Make sure your brain blames Gerry, not eBay, for that one.

      • +1

Already boycotting HN… Gerry's just a whining old fart.

      • … and not the politicians who changed the law?

        • You are absolutely correct. But in short, No, because the average person would not want to bite the hand that feeds them, so Harvey being complicit, still gets the same message across and, sadly, is easier to understand and rally behind.

  • +4

Why tf are car parts always excluded?!

    • why don't you ask ebay and tell us?

  • +2

Perfect timing, took off the $20 GST from my $200 purchase. Thanks nocure!

  • +1

It's such a crappy state of affair - The item I wanted to buy didn't work with the previous 10% off code (Was it PEARL?)

Now it works with PFLASH20, BUT! Seller has already price-jacked item by $50! :(

  • +1

So signing up for eBay plus was for why again?

Looks like they are just paying for these discounts with their eBay plus sign ups. And hoping people forget to cancel after their first year.

    • +1

I've had multiple purchases where eBay Plus covered shipping. For me, it has already more than paid for itself.

      • -4

Let's put it to the vote.

Anyone finding it value, vote + on eug's comment
Anyone finding it isn't $49 value, vote + on this comment

        • I do hope you realize not everything has to be made to suit you. eBay Plus will be a great deal for some people but completely useless to others. You can say exactly the same thing about Amazon Prime, or virtually anything else, including physical products.

I'm satisfied with what I've gotten out of eBay Plus so far, but completely understand that it has been totally useless to you. I certainly wouldn't give a blanket recommendation for it to everyone, just like how I wouldn't give a blanket disapproval of it for everyone because of the very important phrase - "it depends". It can't suit everybody's shopping habits.

          • -1

@eug: What on earth are you talking about?

Asking for votes is to get an idea of how it suits everyone overall. It's not about me!

            • @justtoreply: Sorry! I replied without looking at the username. I thought you were chillipaste. My mistake.

You can add Baby Bunting to the list of excluded sellers. Pathetic.

    • +4

You're negging the deal because Baby Bunting is excluded?

      • +3

Yeah - It's not mentioned under the exclusion list. I don't think it should be up to customers to magically find out who they can and can't get the discount with.

        • +1

I don't think it should be up to customers to magically find out who they can and can't get the discount with.

It isn't, as so far only one seller is missing from the exclusion list.

        • Yeah - It's not mentioned under the exclusion list. I don't think it should be up to customers to magically find out who they can and can't get the discount with.

Which part of the Voting Guidelines would that fall under?

          • +1

            @eug: Unobtainable / Seller issues.

            • +1

              @justtoreply:

              Unobtainable / Seller issues.

Seeing that hundreds of thousands of items work fine with the discount, I wouldn't call it "unobtainable". I would just ask the OP to add the store to the list of excluded stores instead.

            • @justtoreply: Retracted. I thought this was the usual "item hunt" BS that ebay have been coming up with lately.

          • @eug: I find it misleading - an issue with the deal. Now go away.

            • +2

              @Psy1:

              I find it misleading

Right, so you think this deal is only meant for you to use, so if 1 store out of thousands is excluded, it's a "pathetic" deal?
Why wouldn't you just ask the OP to add the store to the exclusion list?

              • @eug: No need to. Baby Bunting is not excluded. See my comment below.

          • @eug: I hope you feel better now eug, I can't imagine what a difficult this must of been for you considering the amount of energy you wasted on it. I'll let you get back on neg patrol now - cya.

            • @Psy1:

I can't imagine what a difficult this must of been for you considering the amount of energy you wasted on it.

Oh don't worry about me, it was less than the amount of energy you wasted with your neg and all the replies. It must have worked you up so much to the point that you called it 'pathetic'. :)

    • Baby Bunting is not excluded. Obviously an issue with your acct.

      • As it worked for you Mr Tightarse, I've decided to revoke my neg. I tried the coupon on many items from Baby Bunting (as per coupon rules) with the same result (no dice), yet the coupon worked fine on other sellers. Not sure what the deal is with that. Never had issues with my account and my address has never changed.

        • Suggest you jump on chat with eBay. They'll sort it out immediately. May even give you a freebie :)

  • +2

I'm buying directly from B&H more nowadays.

    • +1

How is their shipping in regards to price and waiting time?

      • B&H is one of the greats. Top notch in every way.

      • Pretty good, DHL delivery is tracked and you can specify different options for delivery. Would prefer if they could deliver to AusPost parcel collect, though!

    • +1

Me 2, they are -10% and their shipping is very reasonable.

  • Looks like it ends on Saturday 20/4.

  • +1

strange, almost everything I was tracking over 200 jumped up more than $20

  • anyway to get any discount off UK or US ebay items (that appear on .au)? (This code doesn't work for those)

  • htfu and bring out a 10% off discount code.

I got $800 to pay off lol

  • Mother f…… I knew they would do this to me! Had ~$180 in my basket on Sunday and figured… Mondays they usually spring this crap. So I waited until last night then bought ~$90 of stuff.

  • Do ebay ever offer discounts on car parts? not sure if i should wait and see if any of these codes will work, or just buy it for the list price..?

    • I definitely remember seeing some shocks and springs I was watching get 10% off… right after I bought them elsewhere :(

  • and i'm the guy that bought 200 of stuff yesterday, FML… (new motorbike chain from the US)

    • +1

Wouldn't be upset with this then mate - it excludes cars/bikes/boats, including parts!

  • ebays deals are getting shter and Shier everyday

  • cancelled

  • didnt really need it but I used it to buy stuff I dont need. <3

    • You can’t save unless you spend, and, thanks for supporting eBay shareholders.

  • +2

ebay is getting worse and worse. and amazon too, now that they have settled in, there aren't as many flash, crazy deals as when they first started. still remember I got my delonghi kettle from them for less than $20. good time…

  • Got $20 off $200 worth of well priced second hand stuff I didn't really need. Can't complain.

  • +1

    …the PEACE code is better

  • I just contacted eBay as the code didn't work when I had over $200 in my kart their excuse was because I can't have items locally and overseas combined in my cart either one or the other. I told them it was a load of bull and finally they have now acknowledge that it is a fault and are investigating but while they investigate I can't make my purchase and have to wait until the issue is resolved lol sorry about the long sentence I am driving and using my talk and type app

    • EBay have replied and said they are still trying to fix the issue. They gave me a $20 voucher to use on my items in my cart for the meantime so I suggest anyone who is having a similar issue to contact ebay.

      • This is a known issue that most of us deal with, but well done. We always meet the minimum in one currency in cart.

      • +1

I bought 10 items from one local seller which reached a total of $208.50 (this included $7 postage, but the order was still over $200) and the code said I was still below the minimum.
I called them up as well and they also generated me a code for the $20 voucher.

Looks like its not just an issue with locally and overseas items.

  • Had a $10 off no minimum spend coupon a few days ago (free if < $10). Not sure if anyone else has received one? Possibly only for inactive accounts?

  • just spent the last 45 minutes looking for $60 worth of items to bring it up to $200, only to be told that 'collectables' don't count.

OP, i don't know if the T&C's were copied direct from ebay page or if ebay changed the T&C later on to include 'collectables' in the exclusion but thats why i'm down voting it because i think some people were able to get collectables included but they've now changed it.

  • +2

Looks like the coupon is expired now. Even though it was supposed to end the 20th. Great work ebay haha.

    • Still valid for me though?

      • +1

nah it's stuffed - I've got items over $200 that clearly say type this promo code to save $20 at checkout but when you do it's no longer valid
even the terms and condition page is down now https://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/pflash20

        • +1

Just used the code, it's still valid for me when buying a Koran phone

  • +2

Still worked this morning around 10am, so thanks OP.

  • 13:28 AWST, code still works ok.

  • Not sure it works.
They are still advertising it on the listing, but the T&C's page is not found https://www.ebay.com.au/n/error

If you bid: AU $305.00 -AU $20.00
    Your price: AU $285.00
Enter code at checkout to redeem. Hurry, your coupon expires 20/04/19. Terms and conditions apply.
