  • is there much difference between the X90 and the X85F?

    • +3

      Big difference imho.

    • +1

Biggest difference is x850f has IPS panel and edgelit, no local dimming. X90f has VA panel and direct backlit and local dimming. In reviews the x85f was criticised for the panel.
BUT the 85 inch Kd85x8500f happens to have a VA direct backlit panel (and no local dimming). I like mine fwiw.

I have no idea why people would pay this for a Sony. Their Oleds this year trail the LGs and Panasonic's despite being ridiculously more expensive. Apart from the Playstation and a few of their headphones they make over priced and underwhelming products now.

    • Not to say you aren't correct in regards to some of their products but I purchased the X90F (55") for $1440 end of last year and it been a great TV so far.

      • Precisely why I feel there’s more room to move in the price, I’m holding out for $1,300

        • Yeah I mean all the new models are being cleared out, but once out of stock that will be it until this time next year.

    • Not sure i'd say they trail, all very close imo and really just a matter of which trade off you value for your situation.

While most of the year the sony's are more expensive, they've had sales and deals where they are just as competitive as LG and Pana.

  • Sony KD75X7800F 75" 4K UHD Android Smart LCD LED TV -> $1996

  • Anyone know if 20% blu rays and dvds on friday?

  • Do you guys recon the good guys can price match?

X9000F has had no good specials. Think the lowest it's been is $1499 for the 55 inch. Even the X9000E went to just over a thousand at this time last year.

  • X9000F 65" - $1998.40 Bing Lee - cheapest I've seen it in January. A whopping $397 more here at JB
    X9000F 75" - $3395.75 The Good Guys in February. $201 more

Not great prices at all, been better

    • $1998 for the 65” x9000F is a super deal. I wish i seen that! Im hanging out for it to get under $2200 and im grabbing one but not at $2400 like above..

A JB salesman told me when I was shopping for my Sony Tv that new models come out each year around May, so depending on stock levels there are usually discounts but you run the risk of them selling out of the last remaining stock.

    • +1

Alot of Samsung range are already out, Most stores would be running pretty low on stock.

  • How are the new Samsung QLED TVs, compared to the Sony’s OLED or LGs?

    • -1

From what i've read the new q90r is very close to the OLED in terms of black levels and is one of the best TVs you can buy. This is based against current OLEDs, not sure that there are any reviews on upcoming models.

X90f is the same as the x9000F yes?

Was going to buy 65" X9000F a few days ago, but with current pricing ended up with 65" Panasonic FZ950 OLED for $300 more from this deal

Visited the Sony kiosk @ Westfield Chatswood, appears they’ll be matching the JB/Bing Lee sale prices imminently.

Just hope the website reflects this in time for the Shopback cashback…

  • +1

Confirmed, Sony website is offering the same deals on X90F.

Just pulled the trigger along with the 10% supersize cashback via Shopback.

    Excited!

They have no 65” screens in the x9000f or x8500f..im devastated..

      • +1

        75”, or don’t you have the balls…nutsack

        • Worried about pic quality degrading when only watching hd etc.. im not sure how upscaling would handle that size..

          • @NUTSACK: Well Sony has the best upscaling out of anyone thanks to the X1 Extreme processor. So if you're going to get a TV that you will use for 720/1080p then definitely get a Sony.

X90F is calling me, pity my Pana Plasmas keep on keeping on.

    • +2

Get rid of it and buy a new one..i still have a 50” panasonic plasma v series in the other living room and never use it. Just because it still turns on doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself..life’s short!
