        money cant buy love may as well spend it on iphones :(

          Apple is smart, that's why they so rich.

          I just wish they charge you 3k in a couple of years, you sheep will still pay that.

          2k for an iPhone, smh

          •

            @nikoris: Lol… One neg? Its probably a sign that your not far off the truth mate… I'm sure there will be some backlash soon to the pricing between Sammy n apple… At the moment it's all being hidden by mobile plans… Telcos are probably loving these prices as it makes their plans a lot more attractive over what they were a year or 2 ago…..

            •

              @scud70: That’s actually incorrect. Telcos used to give a phone discount for joining a bigger plan.

              Now you need to pay for the phone outright and get the plan cheaper is the norm now

          •

            @nikoris: An iphone is 2k
            A bmw is 70k
            A ferrari is 500k
            A private jet is 3000k
            An airplane is 100000k
            They are all smart
            But is everybody a sheep?

              @DauntingEarth: What a bad example that proves how brainwashed you people are.

              So an iPhone is like a Ferrari and other phones are like BMW?

              Hahahahahahahahahha

              •

                @nikoris: An iphone is 2k
                Toyota 30k
                A house 600k
                A private jet is 3000k
                An airplane is 100000k
                They are all smart

                  @DauntingEarth: Your examples are painful.

                  A 600k home offers more than a 300k home.

                  A 2k iPhone actually does less than some 800$ phones.

                  As simple as that.

                    @nikoris:

                    As simple as that

                    Not exactly. What about a $20 dress, $200 and $2000 dress? They all do the same thing but some people are happy to pay over ten times the price for something they like the look of (and other people will look at).

                    I'm a bloke who doesn't care about fashion and has never owned an Apple device but that doesn't mean everyone has to agree with me.

      •

        An s10+ really isn’t that far off 2k, same goes for the Huawei P30… paying 1.6k for a phone doesn’t make them sheep too? For a device I use more than any other product in my life, I can still justify the iPhones cost (compared to a 40k car I’ll only drive on the weekends)

        •

          I can buy a very nice phone for 800$. Apple is asking more than double the moneyy for some devices

          My 800$ phone will do exactly the same, if not more, than a 2k iPhone.

          Every example you people give comparing phones (t hat do the same things) with cars, homes, whatevs, is pure joke.

          A 40k car does a lot more than my 5k car. It's probably worth the money.

          •

            @nikoris: How does a 40k do more than a 5k car?

            Other then cosmetics and feature comforts, they both do the same thing.

            Same as a phone; a $50 budget smart phone does the same thing your $800 phone does in the end

            •

              @Danstar: A 40k car accelerates faster. Has much better speed. Has better driving. Has better build materials. Has better seating. Has better driving assists. Much more safety stuff. Probably has better fuel consumption. Much better tech inside the car. More ergonomic. More space. Much better design.

              A 2k iphone actually has more limitations than my 700$ android (oneplus 6t)

              A 50$ phone is slower, charges slower, has worse camera, worse audio, worse battery life, worse screen, worse updates, worse build materials, worse build quality, worse haptic feedback, etc

              I'm sorry, I'm gonna be blunt, but comparing cars and phones has always been a stupid argument. Specially when trying to price why iPhones are worth the money.

              •

                Why can't a $2K phone be a fashion accessory to those people who find that important in their lives! Just because you (and I) don't see value in their choice doesn't mean you have to shove your opinion down everyone's throat.

                Do you get just as outraged when someone spends $5K on a handbag or $800 on a pair of shoes that may only be used once a fortnight?

              •

                @nikoris: But does it Do the same thing in the end of the day ? That was my question…

                So you buy an $800 phone that you find “better” in your opinion and for your intended purposes.

                Do you buy home brand groceries only ?
                Unlikely.

                Do you buy budget shoes?
                Etc. etc.

                Purchases are a choice. There is no wrong or right answer.
                Buy what you like, not cos you can shove your opinion down people’s throats trying to prove to them they’ve wasted their money (in your opinion)

            @Bashster33: Then how come so cheap on scumtree?

            • -1 vote

              @Griffindinho: I know how to deal, have bought heaps off gumtree and sometimes flip. Never had a problem.
              I live in a 60,000 area so chance of scum bags is not as bad as in a city.
              Flipped a 8 256gb for $850 yesterday on gumtree, paid $570 for it.

            @Bashster33: Yep. Considering most people can sell a second hand new iPhone for almos the same as a brand new one. There would be something sus with buying a brand new iPhone for 20-40% under RRP

            •

              @Danstar: you have no idea, go pay full price then.

              •

                @Bashster33: Could be bought via gift card fraud. Sold off quickly.

                •

                  @DonaldDr4per: Nope, 1. guy bought from JB for his sister and opened it didnt set it up she said it was too big, so couldn't return it and just wanted quick cash back.
                  2. Guy won it in a work safety contest at work.
                  I went to both houses so know where they live and they weren't the scum of the earth people.
                  Some jealous people in here lol.

                  There is 2 types of sellers on gumtree, those that want ridiculous prices and those that take what they can get for cash asap.

                @Bashster33: I have plenty of ideas. Like stolen phones being sold for cheap. ;)

                Good luck to you if it is legit. Just my opinion that it’s more likely to be sus in one way or another

                •

                  @Danstar: read above :) here's another last year, girl bought iPhone X from JB for $1529, didnt like it coming from Samsung, had it 4 days and sold it to me for $1,000 with reciept. cash is king in gumtree world :)
                  I used it for 6 months and sold it to mobile monster for $1100 when the max came out.

                    That's the stupidest thing I have heard. Does gumtree accept laybuy?

                    Why do people think that paying cash suddenly desires a good deal on gumtree? Don't people pay cash when meeting up anyway? Do people bring EFTPOS machines along?

                    •

                      @browser: People do bank transfer and PayPal, its common on GT even know meant to be cash face to face, have a look at how many ads that say will post, do those buyers pay cash. Get some reality and get off your high horse.

      •

        Interesting.
        How do you check if it is not bricked?
        Did you set it up in front of the seller before you pay? What if the seller report it as stolen few days later? Will apple/phone provider will lock it?

        And is there a way to check if It was local stock if they do not have receipt anymore ( warranty purposes )?

        Thanks

    Wish they had XS in stock in 64GB
