  • oh man at this price it's so tempting

Need to resist till OnePlus or Oppo new model is out so I can compare

    • +2

I got a white one for the wife, and a green one for myself!

      • I missed out :(

…but it's the Exynos version (the Snapdragon is faster, has longer battery life, has the better Sony Exmor cameras, gets better support, and I believe has the better Security/Knox).

If only I can get the QSD 855 version at this price with warranty, and have the option to root/customise the software.

I prefer the screen size and battery of the S10+ but hate the curved display, much prefer the flat display of the S10e so I can apply a proper Glass Protector and Polycarbonate Case. Then install ResurectionRemix, better than the Google Pixels.

What are the chances that Amazon match tonight with 12% cashback through Shopback?

    • Do they price match eBay?

  • -2

Just a reminder, SD855 Vivo Reno is coming on May, much better spec and price. If you can wait.

    • Is it definitely coming to Australia? I've seen a lot of cool concept Vivo phones which never release internationally.

      • It is manufacturing and selling on May, if you search it on YouTube u will see.

  • Man these Android phones prices just keeps falling down.

    • +2

It's funny though because many Australians have no problem dropping 2k for an iPhone.

      I mean, WTAF

    • -3

It's 20% off Bing Lee, nothing to do with prices falling down.

      Illogical comment

      • The "RRP" from Samsung has fallen since its release, same with the S10/Pixel 3, which isn't atypical for new releases.

Bing Lee are also co-funding this 20% discount as all eBay retailers do with 20% codes.

        • -5

You're not the person who made the comment.

They haven't provided any further info on how they base their claim. It's not up to another person to do that… You are not them.

And again, this BL discount code has nothing to do with "Android prices falling". Everything they sell, the same thing can be said. Hence, it's a dumb comment (on its own).

Treachery to me and all pre order buyers

    • Well you get the Earbuds, which can be sold at at least 150?

      • +2

        then 900 is a betrayal

    • No, you knew the price was gonna drop fast.

I bought day one too, but I knew that the phone will cost 200-300 less very soon.

  • +1

    10e.. is that pretty crippled?

    • +1

Nope it's a pretty capable phone. I was skeptical coming from a OnePlus 6, but have had it for 2 weeks and it's quite zippy.

      • cool! good to hear

      • I have the 6t and my wife the s10, and oneplus is way faster.

        • jeez in what way?

whatever is after 6t is going to blow s10 out of the water

          • @bisaya: blow it out of the water? you're talking probably 1-2s difference in most things. The OnePlus 6 was definitely smooth, but I've had no noticeable slow downs or hiccups on my s10e. I was worried that being 6gb it would be 'crippled' but not in my experience.

Also it's the extra nice to haves that I've appreciated going back to samsung phone: wireless charging, better integration with my galaxy watch, better screen, better camera, even reverse wireless charging has even come in handy. That stuff is more tangible to me than pure grunt.

End of the day, you just have to weight it all up and choose what's best for you. I switch phone a fair bit and I've always said (to people who ask for recommendations) that Samsung Galaxies are the balanced all rounder.

        • probably just a different window and animation scale setting difference.

go to developer options and turn off on both phones.

    • +1

It's barely crippled at all, you get a different (IMO better) fingerprint reader location, power button instead of under screen, and it gives up the curved edges. Both tiny differences.

      • and 6GB ram vs 8GB.

        • Seriously, do people use that much ram? I'm on xiaomi 4gb phone, known for being aggressive even for 4gb. I split screen 2 poke go and my other stuff still doesn't close.

      • did you think the camera is much better than note 8? i was a bit worried about that

        • Too late now, but 10e uses the same camera as the s10.

  • Does anyone know if this is Australian stock??

    • It is.

      • +2

        Super tempted!!

And i got morons saying the Iphone 6s is worth 400! lmao

        • +1

If you buy the 6s, you'll only lose $100 in the year.
How much has this phone already lost in the last month.

          • @ilostnemo: 100 a year is 25% of its value….. i doubt the 10e will drop below 25% in 12 month from 800 this time next year…given how expensive the S9 is still pretty expensive

      • msd slot can act as second sim? or oz stock not allowed…

  • anyone can comment on the battery life? i just dont wana charge my phone mid day even on heavy use.

      • +8

still does not answer my question.. smh i couldn't even understand your rant, so its one of the newest smartphones and for that reason i should not care about battery?

    • it's got 3100 mah, in comparison all of the previous base galaxy S models have been 3000 mah, e.g. s9, s8,

      • +1

id still like to hear irl battery life of some owners, its a great deal i just cant have a mediocre battery life if im spending 800 hundies

        • +3

          800 hundies? 80,000! o:

      • Having had 3500mha or 4000 battery phones,, never want to go back to 3100 or under, top of the line or not.
Btw, s10e is the bottom line of S10

        • There are other factors. My old Sony compact had a tiny battery but it lasted forever because of reduced power draw.

S10e has been very well received by reviewers, some say it’s better than the other s10s because not missing anything important, and better value

          • @crentist: But still 900mah drop. The smaller screen doesn't make up for that much battery difference.

And you only choose the e if you wanted something small, that's what important.

    • It's fine for me. I'm a light-moderate user (music, some youtube, reddit), and will typically end the day at around 30%. If you're a heavy user you might run into problems.

  • Such a great price!

  • The price drop again!!!!!!

  • This or a Pixel 3 for $849 from JB?

    • +1

Pixel 3 for camera + software, S10E for everything else. The 4GB on the Pixel 3 really cripples it, and the lack of a headphone jack is incredibly painful on the pixel.

      • There is no way I would ever recommend a pixel phone to anyone, and specially not for software.

Pixel software is really bad, pill navigation is really awful.

        • I've got an OG XL, and I honestly really like the pill navigation, although I hate how they forced everyone into it for the pixel 3. The point of android is that you've got a choice and everything is customisable, which google threw out the window.

Google seems more and more out of touch with what people want these days, and I'd also not easily recommend a google phone. I'd still consider their software better than Samsung's though.

          • @BenR31415: The Samsung One UI is significantly better than before, but the duplication of Samsung + Google apps is frustrating, as is Bixby (which you can at least customize natively now).

            • +1

@cyssero: Better, but I'm personally still not a fan.

I've tried using a note 9 from another family member, and while the phone itself is brilliant I'm still not convinced by the software. I still much prefer stock. Ideal phone IMO is the Oneplus 6 (non t) if you can live without wireless charging and a notch.

              • +1

@BenR31415: Yep, a fair assesment. There is no perfect Android phone as far as I'm concerned, but I think the S9 held the right balance for me (3.5mm jack, wireless charging, reasonable software and camera). Battery life sucks on the S9 (much improved with S10). The OnePlus 6 was a very close alternative when I got mine.

              • @BenR31415: "if you can live without wireless charging and a notch."

Edit: if you can live without wireless charging and having a notch."

Good comment but I had to google an image of a O+6 to confirm. This might become my next phone.

  • +1

looks like Bing Lee reduced the stock quantity to zero after sales of 15 phones. They might have forgotten to uh… adjust the prices and have been selling them for under RRP.

    • +1

The black ones seem to still be in stock…

      • Cool, edited main URL

  • What's the rrp? 1k?

    • They're $987 on Amazon.

    • yes

  • -1

Bought the last 2 black phones.

    • Not quite the the last black phones, I just purchased one a few minutes ago, just before the 20/4 9am cut-off ;-)

      • I returned one… that’s why

  • +1

sad it does not have a dragon inside.

  • It is amazing where have we gone in mobile technology, the price of a phone released less than 2 months ago has fallen so much.

  • Does this have a bixby button on the side?

    • +1

      Yes

      • +1

Quickest reply I received. Hmm I guess that's a deal breaker for me. Deal is over anyways.

        • +2

you can remap the bixby button in settings to another app.

But if you want to go a step further, there's an app called bxactions that can remap the bixby button (and volume buttons) to completely different actions (single press; double press; long press; double long press) each one can trigger different responses. it's a fantastic app, makes the bixby button invaluable

          • @jigna27: Thanks good to know when considering a samsung.
