Wow nice. Mention that they are return tickets so people don't have to click to find out.

All flights deals are after the school holidays, so not much use full for me

  • I find travel.com.au quite hard to navigate. The waiting time is also very long for it to tell you whether or not the seats are avail on that day.

  • Great one, thanks for the heads up. I ended up booking via Zuji, Mel to Phuket, all up $597.25 per person return

  • Great deal. I just booked flights for two for $200 each more a few days ago in another "sale" of theirs. Really annoying.

  • The destinations for Malaysia are Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, or Miri. A domestic flight from these places to Kuala Lumpur will cost about an additional AUD200.

What do you mean? I just booked a Melbourne To Kuala Lumpur flight for less than $600 return.

    • Use Zuji to find the flights. I couldn't find anything using travel.com.au either.

    • KL is the MH hub, so for those flights you're getting a free side trip. I believe if you scroll down the page there are flights to KL only.

  • just booked, 600 all up, almost paid 800 2 weeks ago, thanks OP!

  • I'm looking for some flights for Jan-Feb, MEL-BKK but can't find anything on Zuji, can someone talk me through the process of finding the cheap flights please?

    • I couldn't find dates for anything so I just called up Flightcenter and they booked it for me.
Malaysian airlines is doing the sale so all travel agents has access to the same deals … some just cut their commission by a few dollars to seem cheaper.

      • Thanks, I'll keep trying… it sounds like availability on KUL-MEL is the problem…

  • Yay. :)

  • I Booked and paid yesterday…. checked and I would have saved $315 if I booked useing this offer.
the flight I booked on is alot quicker, 14 hours vs 21 to vietman but still big saveing

    • Hey mate i work at a travel agency.
There is a rule in which you can cancel upto 24 hours of buying flights

  • Would these be usable for a trip to Bali?

    • yeah, just look at Indonesia prices

      • Cheers. Helps to read it better :s

  • Aargh! Picked flights in July MEL to BKK on Zuji - lets me pick the flights but when I try to go further it keeps saying the flights are unavailable. Yet when I re-do the search the same flights keep coming up.

    • you can book directly on the mas website too

  • why adult fare and infant fare the same?!?!?! =(

  • hmm seems more sale fares got released. flight centre said no cheap flights from 15/08 to first week of September Syd - KL this arvo and Malaysian Airline site had the same, just checked and a ton of sale fares on Malaysia Airlines site again, and got the dates I wanted @ $595 return!

    • its awesome isn't it! got mine for less than $1400 2 adults and an infant!

  • I'm going to Thailand!!

  • Got 2 tickets for a little less than $1200 for MEL - KL in January.

Never used Zuji until now. I like that it allows you to use the +/- 3 days feature which produces a chart for you to choose the best possible combination of dates.

    Thanks plumpton!

It took me several hours to appreciate how poorly Malaysia Airlines and travel.com.au websites are designed. I kept on getting false positives and bizarre error messages - and thought it might be a server overload. Zuji was much easier to use (not as good as adioso, but still quite good) and it only took me 15-30 minutes to find the flights I was looking for. I finally got my direct flights to Malaysia for 2012 at under $600 per person return inc taxes, meals and 20kg luggage.

This goes down in my 20 years of Internet citizenship as the most difficult purchase I've ever made … I've never had to work so hard for a bargain before :)

  • Who needs AirAsia with these prices.

    • It's probably precisely because of competition from AirAsia that MH has had to flog off seats cheaper.

      • yer but sydney?

        • Well you know what OzBargainers are like, they'll spend hours in departure lounges to save a hundred bucks. :)

  • Are there likely to be other airline sales over the next few weeks? Looking to lock in some flights to Thailand leaving late Jan so want to move fast once the right deal (and availability) comes up..
