  • Wondering if my Yamaha yas 107 can work with it:)

With such little information about this particular model on the internet.
I would say with 80% confidence, yes.
In the eBay listing it states it has adjustable phase, and adjustable cut-off frequency, which are both needed in order to properly cross-over / setup with the YAS-107/108.
Hopefully back panel should look like this.

And a warning, the eBay product photo makes the product look small,
but this subwoofer is very large (50cm deep, 40cm tall, 24cm wide).

    Ugh. Ugly

Jamo is owned by Klipsch, I have a 12" Jamo sub that is much more expensive than this and it's pretty amazing.

Not sure how good an 8" woofer will be, I do have a monoprice 8" sub and it's pretty decent, good punchy bass.

Couldn't find any reviews online, hopefully someone else can chime in.

    Release date about 2006

The DALI ZENSOR SUB E-9F seems to be a much better deal.

If you can extend your budget to $337.60 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/452977), the DALI ZENSOR SUB E-9F does look the better buy.

      • Bigger woofer
      • 10x aesthetically more pleasing
      • Current model

The only thing going for the PJSW-7000 (compared to the Dali at least) is the unit dimension makes it easier to place around the room.

      • The Dali is roughly 30x30x30cm.
        The Jamo is 50x40x24cm.
I think the Dali is easier to place.

        • I did originally think the Dali was bigger than it actually is, but I still think a rectangular shaped (looking down) sub-woofer is easier to place. eg. The Jamo can be placed beside the couch and it can almost act like a side table, where as any cubed shaped sub woofer I think would be out of place.

          • @iwearpants: Yes it would be a nice side table. I think the Dali may be a bit too fancy to risk spilling liquids on.

            • @thebadmachine: You can also mount the Jamo on a wall. The Dali would also be a bit too fancy for that.

    • Don't think it matters much about release dates for speakers….

    • Dali E-9F price went down to $293.60 Delivered.

I would expect the Dali to provide the ‘punch’ in the chest most home theatre subwoofer buyers seek.
I think it would be less subtle with musical duties though.

I bought this for $230 (also from Grays) 7 years ago.

It's the only sub-woofer I've owned, so hard to compare.

All I can say is it does the job? :|

    • I understand you own the subwoofer,
but the Jamo sub is almost the same size as 2x Dali Sub E-9F’s side by side.

Cue the usual boring comments about Jamo being crap since they stopped manufacturing in Denmark.

I recently bought this from Gray's, came sealed, the subwoofer has excellent, deep, bass

  • Wouldn't it sound weird with a $200 soundbar or worth setting one up? I find the ATS1080 a bit tinny but ok

    • +1

It looks weird, I have it setup with a Kenwood K-711 micro Hi-Fi, it's definitely a big box (gitty) but you can adjust the input sound level so is not overpowering

  • For anyone still looking for a compact subwoofer with advanced controls.
There’s some $179 Cerwin Vega XD8S’s leftover from a previous deal.
