the word pre-order confused me that it's new release handset…

Anyway it's already $159 on below..

i had the z1, z2, and z3, and the number of problems i had with them was unbelievable. I would NEVER buy a Sony device from overseas (work used to give them to me thats why put up with it), as at least the Sony warranty people were good

Same after owning the Z1 Ultra and Z5 Premium.

Worse quality than a $200 Sharp device.

So much for that "Japanese quality".

      • Very opposite of what Sony is known for.
        I wonder what went wrong.
One thing I heard was a similar down-turn in quality with their DAP’s.
I heard that Sony made the decision to direct funds/development elsewhere in an attempt to counter a changing market.
It’s possible they took away funding and also put their shrinking DAP development team to the task of making smart phones at the same time, or something of similar sorts.
Some kind of corporate decision failure.

Sony may be taking more risks as they know they have built a reputation & that their image can take a hit. Kind of a stumble for Sony, let’s hope they get right back into the jog they have been known for.
