Wow, is it really with AU plug??

    • +1

According to the listing and my previous purchases from gearbite they usually add on a Aus plug in the package.

    • Yep, confirmed it comes with AU Plug from previous deal

    • Will supply Au plug .

    • -4

CN plugs are the same as AU plugs

      • +2

        No they are not.

They do not comply with AS/NZS 3112:2000 and are illegal for Australian stores to supply.

        • the blades are a different thickness to AU plugs ….look similar bedsides upside down but not the same.

      • It's unlawful for Australian businesses to sell non-compliant electrical goods. The right way to operate is to get the goods certified before supplying them to the public.

  • This or Dyson V7?

    • +5

      This

    • -7

I'd rather buy Malaysian made Dyson V7 anyday.

      • What's the difference

  • Tried , the code isn't working , has it worked for anyone ?

    • Worked for me.

    • Code is not working for me either. Got 'Code can't be applied to your order'.
I've been trying to buy this vacuum for months now, but all the code don't work in my account for some reason.

      • Same here

  • Have they released new carpet head yet?? I heard its for thicker longer carpets..?

    • +1

Carpet roller will available later May.

      • Could we buy this carpet roller attachment separately?

        • +3

Yes, you only need to purchase carpet roller, do not need to purchase whole head, so price will be cheap.

          • @Gearbite: Will the carpet roller be included in the set if I buy it next month?

            • +6

@D-grey: will sell separately, package does not included carpet roll, we requested to make for Australian customer.

      • What does the carpet roller look like?

        • +2

          Will update once avaiable.

  • Anyone compare this to Dyson handheld?

Suction on par with Dyson v5 v6 v7 or v8?

    • theres some videos on youtube comparing it to the V8, the dreame is apparently stronger in suction. I would take those videos and tests with a grain of salt due to the nature of them being stores trying to sell this product and the comment sections did point out some flaws in the testing methods.

    • +5

I didn't need one since I got a v10 but I got one a while ago to see what the fuss was about. It's great, I gave it to my dad after I played with it.

In terms of performance, suction feels about the same when sticking hands in front. Quality wise the brush head on the Dyson feels much higher quality.

      If I didn't have a v10, I'd buy this and a robot vacuum instead.

    • +2

Much better than my Dyson V6, the head is powered much easier to push on carpet and floors

Also the air vents are not directed towards you. Dyson ones the vents blow in your face and smells over time

The dyson brush heads all have the problem where hair will clog up at the ends requiring long nose hex screwdriver to remove

  • Dang it eBay… just bought this 2 days ago with the 7% off code for $335 :(

  • +1

If there were problem arise, where to get it fixed ?

    • +16

Covered by our 12 months warranty, we will pay return postage and fix at melbourne.

  • +1

Gearbite - please tell me how many recharge cycles will the batteries last and what do replacement batteries cost. Thanks

    • +1

Around 500 cycles, battery replace is easy. We will supply Battery few months later.

      • What do you mean by you supply after few months?

        • +4

We will stock repair parts which includes battery. We will use for warranty or customers can order spare battery.

          • @Gearbite: Approximately what will the replacement batteries cost? thanks

      • +4

        500 that is very low

        • +1

I know right. My Dyson V6 still works perfectly after 4 years. Use it almost daily.

          • @giventofly: Not really my one two years battery only last less than 10 mins

        • -1

If you vacuum twice a week, that's almost 5 years. Not bad, I think.

          • @strangeloops66: I can't vacuum my house in 8 minutes!

            • @spaceflight: Standard 60mins,Power mode for 28 mins, Max mode 8Mins.

              • @Gearbite: But sandard is about 90% less suction than a good vacuum.

At least on max mode its only 50% less suction so has a beer chance at sucking up more dirt.

                • @spaceflight: Guess you never used a handheld before compared, they dont have the same suction as a normal unit. Not till you go up to the v8 and v10 model dysons

                  • @asa79:

Guess you never used a handheld before

                    I have.

I guess you've never looked at the specifications of one.

Not till you go up to the v8 and v10 model dysons

No handheld has the same suction as a normal vacuum.

The Dyson V10 claims 150 air watts in maximum mode.
A Miele Complete C3 Brilliant does 250 air watts
A Dyson Cinetic is 230 air watts.

          • @strangeloops66: unless you live in HK in those tiny apartments good luck getting two vacum jobs out of the battery. we are lucky to get half a house clean from 1 charge of a dyson

        • Pretty much what has happened to my V6. Replacement battery lasted 11 months. not covered under warranty. Battery is only 6mths.

          • @Sammyboy: I would check again on that, as I got a replacement battery about 16 months

            • @asa79: Called today. As the V6 unit is out of warranty, and the battery replacement I got was a just out of warranty free replacement, I had no chance getting another battery for free.

      • Thanks.

  • +4

I dont need one at all….
    But want to get one
    ….I must be sick

    • That makes two of us.
And I also want the matching Robot:-)

  • anyone that have purchased them, can it really lasts 60 minutes on the lowest power?

    • +1

      It probably can.

But the rated air watts in the low mode for a Dyson V6 is 28 airwatts (so this will probably be the same)

Thats 90% less suction than a corded model so you don't have much suction.

      • Thanks!!

Do you kno how much airwatts does normally corded model use?

I’m trying to get how long can I use XiaoMi for. As I normally have Max power on my Nilfisk.

        • This Xiaomi says 120 airwatts in maximum mode
The Dyson V10 claims 150 air watts in maximum mode.
A Miele Complete C3 Brilliant does 250 air watts
A Dyson Cinetic is 230 air watts.

  • Does this work well for vinyl flooring? similar to the Dyson absolute to ensure no scratching?

  • How much will the carpet brush cost?

  • +1

Bummer. I bought it a while back from Gearbite but no AU plug/adaptor. Is there any way to get it now?

    • +3

previous customers can purchase au plug for free( charge postage only), please check link https://www.shopro.com.au/other-6/xiaomi-dreame-vacuum-clean…

        • How was it non complaint out of curiosity? My xiaomi Robo Vac came with an adapter which was fine??

          • @bemybubble: Non insulated plug

          • @bemybubble: Mine was posted by an Australian seller from Melbourne, so by law it had to be a certified AU plug, but instead it was a CN one i.e. non-compliant.

          • +1

@bemybubble: They do not comply with AS/NZS 3112:2000 and are illegal for Australian stores to supply.

Supplying an adaptor is still not compliant. You need to be provided a compliant charger.

            • @spaceflight: So, does it mean they need to provide us with a proper adapter ? Tbh I do not mind to pay some money to get a proper adapter but paying $8 for postage while you can get it for free now sounds unfair.

              • @fredzcoolerz:

So, does it mean they need to provide us with a proper adapter ?

Yes, not pin adaptor though. The whole power supply.

There are some links here from when I discussed this last time.
                https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/7034732/redir

The store has shown they do not care as they ignored it last time and have ignored it this time.

              • @fredzcoolerz: I think they fully understand they are non-compliant, that is why they got this shipment of AU plugs, BUT they will not make generous gestures sending every previous buyer a free AU plug as some people will never know or care, others are soft, gullible and will meekly pay postage.
I am sure they will send you one for free if you push them, as they seem extremely vulnerable in all of this.

      • Why would you charge people to fix something that you legally need to have supplied them?

If you sold and supplied these with CN plus they are not compliant, unsafe and illegal for you to have sold.

      • Make sure you do the right thing before someone gets injured. Your product liability policy may not cover unlawful goods.
        https://www.esv.vic.gov.au/technical-information/electrical-…

      • If the charger/adapter does not comply with AS/NZS law, you need to provide us with a comply adapter right.

  • Damn - this looks good … I'd buy it if I didn't already have 2x Dyson handhelds and a barrel vacuum.

  • Does anyone have one of these that can compare to a dyson v8/10?

Price is very tempting but not familiar with Xiaomi.

  • +14

I have had one for a couple of months now. The few annoyances are:
    - small rollers on the large head are catching long hair like crazy so they stop spinning and the whole thing doesn't move smoothly. Getting hair out is a problem, as the rollers are not removable. I have to use tweezers or other sharp tools which actually damage soft rubber rollers.
    - Holding the trigger (on switch) for more than a few minutes is painful, your skin catches between the trigger and the guard, it is a crappy design.
    - Impossible to reach under beds.
    - White colour is stupid, I can see it growing dirty, not the engine part, but heads etc.
Other than these, I am quite happy. I tend to use it more often and the house is cleaner.

    • Thanks!

    • roller is removable. There is a release button to get soft roller out. Please check manual.

      • +1

I am not talking about the large fluffy roller, but the two small rubber ones.

        • +1

will double check tomorrow and try to find out solutions. From my memory, they did consider your scenario with solution.

          • @Gearbite: I am also interested in finding a solution to this.

            • @ttam87: I found that you can pry the end of the axle with a 3mm screwdriver to pop the wheel out, so you can clean the hair out. The axle then just clicks back in.
Downside currently is it damages the plastic.

              • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for that. Seems like a good idea if OP doesnt get back to us with a better solution.

                • @ttam87: Actually I just did it again to check and it's actually the 2mm tool from the Xiaomi Wiha screwdriver set that fits it best.
A custom tool would be better though…

    • Oh.. We have hair everywhere crazy long hair. My main aim getting this is hair and dust in the carpets, relatively short but old carpets. Which means this is not for me? :(

      • +4

I have one of these for the last month and I also have issues with hair fouling the small rollers on the vacuum head.
It will start pulling to one side after about 5 min of vacuuming. I have probably done this operation about 8 times already.
I find that the rollers can be pried out by levering a 3mm flat blade screwdriver, then the axle slides out and the hair is easily removed.
The only problem is that the operation is difficult without damaging the plastic axle housing, as the plastic is quite soft.
Still, it is a nice vacuum to use in between the numerous wheel removals I need to do. I just don't think the vacuum head plastic will last more than a few months.
It is replacing a Dyson V6 animal, which also fouled constantly, and would run out of battery after a very short time.
The best thing about the Xiaomi vacuum is the light button pressure to operate it, and the long battery life using the middle setting.
They really need to make the maintenance of the rollers less damaging, e.g with less clamping force and provide a tool/button for roller removal.

        • Thanks for your advices. Have passed you and ldq 's advice to Dreame.

          • @Gearbite: Update; the small rollers now squeak a bit also while vacuuming this morning.

      • +1

It sounds like you want a proper vacuum with a motorised brush head.

That's the best to get hair from carpet.

    • Thanks for the insights mate. Can you advise what you used prior to this? I love my Xiaomi robovac (does "maintenance" ) so this is to replace my Dyson DC29 which I hate
