unreasonable neg and reason to neg

Bought twice from them, the last 1 still haven't received for more than 7 weeks (Just open dispute through paypal). First item arrived in 3 weeks, thats how long it takes to deliver from and to melbourne???.

        • Why not complain to Vic's Consumer Affairs Dep't?

(So, why isn't PayPal refunding your money?)

"Batteries are packed in generic plastic packaging"

    Possibly fake?

nice deal, i missed out though, AA out of stock

You will find at least one or more duds in the generic packing (read sticky tape). That's my experience. The rest were fine. So I suggest budget on 90-95% of the number of batteries quoted.

cuek's comment is not at all an invalid reason to neg.
Having bought from Crap of the Day twice and received neither order, it seems perfectly valid. I even had Office of Fair Trading give up chasing them for a result saying I'd need to pursue it through the courts.

    CotD = no deal. Simple.

cueks comment was valid although a joke. Its NOT a valid for a negative vote. BTW The community here revoked that vote not the mods, as they realised that.

When are you going to read our voting guidelines? http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

I sympathise with you on your COTD experience, but constant voting down of COTD "deals" based on this is a vendetta. You are always welcome to make comments in posts, but you are now misusing the voting system.

As per the guidelines if you wish to read them, your COTD votes down will be removed in future, and you will receive increasingly longer bans from posting at all. You were warned here on other negative voting habits.

One LAST chance, to read and understand the guidelines. If you read them you will also understand why they apply.

We are tolerant with these as we do understand the need to show some displeasure, and not always do people understand how the voting is to be used but frequent breeches are not acceptable

Sorry then if I miss used neg voting, just want to express my dissatisfy with COD. It might be because they put more attention on Scoopon which make more money for them.

I used to work where COTD was customer and I can say hey don't hold the stock, supplier keep stock till products are sold so it's slow on delivery. But far as I know they are genuine and these supplier's buy price is higher than what COtD sells sometimes. I purchased 4-5 times, no issue so far

    • Well thats just like a reseller/retailer "drop shipping" direct from a supplier. Except in most cases drop shipped items get delivered faster (except if your supplier is Ingram Micro).

  • I used to be a pretty big fan of COTD but the last orders of mine I've had to chase myself, including a wine order that just simply disappeared. They seem to be on about a month's shipping backlog so simply take that into account when or if you order from COTD.

I've noticed Aldi are selling blocks of AA and AAA batteries now, might be worth checking out their pricing

    • Also, mid last week at Safeway (Woolies) Burwood VIC they had Duracell AA 10+6 bonus packs for $7 on clearance (they had about 10 packs left). So it might be worth checking your local Woolies.

    • I spotted 20 AA or AAA Varta alkaline batteries at Bunnings for a little over $8 each. Don't know which is better (Duracell has better advertising, so people automatically think it's the best).

      • Varta are rubbish from my personal experience. Do not recommend.

If you use the three Staples vouchers, you can get 3x (10 Duracell + 4 Duracell Ultra) = 42 batteries for about $21 inc shipping.
