      How do I get the cash back? I purchased this deal

  • Does anyone know Sony do price match?

    • Yes, in the past.

      • Thanks. Will try and pay with Amex.

        • +5

          I did that during the last AMEX promotion and SONY was happy to split payment into multiple transactions. :)

    How does this compare to LG OLED 55? I don't know much about TVs. Obviously there is a price difference. Thanks

      Not even close. Bottom of the range TV vs top of the range TV. Only thing the Sony has is size.

        thanks

        I told her the same thing

      How can you compare an LED TV to an OLED? It is like comparing a sedan to a 4WD.

        I don't know much about TVs..would be helpful to write something educational then smart arse comments..

          Without going into bulk detail:
          OLED have brighter more accurate colours.
          Brighter screens.
          Better contrast.
          Faster pixel response (meaning less blur for sports, and gaming has minimal latency)
          Higher price tag as a result.

          The is more info to be had, but on a simple level that's it.

            @teereb: Awesome, thanks!

            @teereb:

            OLED have brighter more accurate colours.
            Brighter screens.

            You have just highlighted OLED weak points, they are far dimmer than LEDs.
            It's similar to the old Plasma vs LCD debate, darker rooms or no reflections, OLED, bright rooms, with lots of reflections, go LCD. that is over simplifying, but you get the point.

            • @snuke: Comparing it to this sony model it does have brighter and more accurate colours…

      • This is great. Thanks heaps.

    Have the 55 of the X70F, it's ok as a bedroom TV, so it's not too bad, for main TV, I think I'd want a higher end model for an open plan, very bright room.

    Trying to work out if a genuine 10 bit panel or 8 bit + frc? Anyone able to clarify?

  • +1

    I have this 65in model, purchased when it was just released and paid much much more, been very happy and can recommend it. To be blunt the new releases OLED's have a better picture of course at a higher price. Dont get me wrong this has a great picture, but it's just tier-2 now. Note it is Linux, not Andriod so some of the newer apps like Stan and HBO/Foxtel are clunky on it, Netflix works well. At that price point <$1200 WOW go for it! However should you have the $4K funds and want a panel for your primary, then it is no contest, go take a look at a 65in Samsung QLED.

  • How does this compare to the Hisense 65P7 that I just purchased over the weekend?

    • This is much,much better.
