Breville The Multi Chef Multi-Cooker BRC600BSS $87.20 Delivered @ Myer eBay

$87.20 posted! Historically low price!

I do have a few Breville appliances but want to whittle them down, I am not a chef by any means but this can apparently do rice, steamed veggies, curries (sear/cook/stew) and it's a small aluminium bowl with a ceramic coating (no teflon) so it'll be easier to wash. Not to mention the bowls are replaceable. It does fail for some people but I'm willing to take the risk. Been hunting it for a few days and this again is a historically low price! GET AT IT!

  • Does anyone use this as a rice cooker?

    • I do. The result is the same as a normal rice cooker. Fluffy and doesn't stick to the bottom.

If anyone is interested, the risotto mode is ok. You will get better result cooking on a stove though. But if you sux at cooking, risotto mode will give you a more consistent non burnt rice. IMHO.

    • You can use pressure cookers for rice easy enough as long as you get the ratio right. The Breville ones have markers on the bowl sometimes for water level per # cups of rice for instance and it works quite well for basmathi.

I crash my pressure by taking it outside once it's finished and flipping open the valve :p Makes a huge burst of steam for a little while but then you can open it up.

Shame it can't fry chips like actifry.

That would be a completely different appliance…

Hmm… so this is a slow cooker that can do rice and saute? Doesn't have pressure cooker option?

    • +3

      Oh lord…

Buttons say Risotto, Saute/Sear, Rice/Steam, Slow cook low, slow cook high, start/cancel

Feel free to try and pressure cook in it! Might get to one atmosphere

      • Say what? Questions about products being discouraged here now? Bizarre

A quick google would of provided the same info. I always google before dropping more than a couple of dollars especially on a kitchen appliance

It’s a rice cooker, that can do slow cooks and sautés. Paid way more than this a couple of years ago. It’s not a pressure cooker just a basic “multi” cooker with some buttons……but great price.

  • “Non-Stick Bowl
    Aluminium with easy nonstick coating.“

    • One less dish to clean as the cooking bowl with PTFE and PFOA free ceramic coating doubles as a serving bowl. So sit back and relax knowing you have less dishes to clean up.

Changed the description, thanks for the pick up

      • Thanks for updating - coating sounds a lot healthier than teflon!

  • Is this a "fuzzy" rice cooker?
