Just bought a new Dell laptop so needed MS Office. Looked up HUP through my workplace and noticed that MS Office 2019 was still available even though it was to be replaced by Office 365. Whilst the prices are not the cheapest, it beats paying a yearly subscription fee for Office 365.

Available
Available 2
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019 - Windows 10
Office Home & Business 2019 - Mac

I was also able to purchase two copies in separate transactions.

You may also want to try getting cashback through Cashrewards or Shopback. My purchase was tracked so anything that comes back is a bonus.

      • cheers mate

        • And don't forget any passwords (if still applicable) as password reset emails will go to your workplace. Although if you can get an ISO and serial still then that should be a moot point.

      • I lost my 2013 key the other week, so I asked on the live chat they sent a quick email verification (generic tech email with the techs details) to my MS account then phoned me to give the key after I read their message to them, so should be able to ask for a key.

    • as long as you enter your email + key, it will re-validate your license.

  • +1

    I'm confused.

I put my work email address into the url and MS sent me an email saying I was eligible.

I followed the link in the email and it takes me to MS website and asks me to sign in.

However, my work email address is just a work email address. There is no associated login for MS site.

I tried my personal MS login, the same as I have for windows & xbox. Then it takes me to an office 365 offer.

So, is it giving me the wrong offer because I haven't been able to log in using my work email? Or the offer is not obtainable?

    • during login it asks whether you want to log in using your work (created by your IT admin) or personal email address and I suppose you have to choose work email address. Our company uses Microsoft Exchange server and hence my work email address is eligible. However, I failed to acquire the password associated with my work email address so I haven't had luck to get / see the discount yet.

    • I did exactly what you have done. This is what I see.

      • Click on the Office Professional Plus 2019 Tab underneath which is in Orange Colour.

        • +5

Orange Office Pro Plus 2019 tab gives "We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found."

      • +4

Follow truongtran's advice and you may get it, and my advice may help you dodge luka's problem.

        I used internet explorer.

Beware to go through the steps from scratch. I didn't purchase immediately, when I tried again the next day by reloading the page in internet explorer, clicking Office 2019 it directed to a page with "we are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found". So instead go through the process from scratch:

Open the email sent to your work address
        Click the link
Log into your personal MS account
Scroll down to the bottom left, past all the Office 365 crap, and click Office Professional Plus 2019 (orange image)
It should take to you Office 2019 for $27.60 and be buyable.

        • Thanks I finally got it work paid $21.72

        • Yeah….same process didn't show the Office 2019 from my home couple of weeks ago and I literally gave up. But after reading your advice, tried it from work, it showed as $21.72. Thanks man.

  • -3

How is this one a deal? $27.60 is a rip-off. I always buy MS Office HUP for $15.

  • +2

I got the congratulations you are eligible email but when I enter my login, and after the MFA, it just goes back to the sign in page again. Horribly frustrating.

    EDIT:

Didnt read the email properly - it says sign in with personal account…. testing…

No go for me. Office 365 Subscription.

  • Thanks got my Mac version.

Interestingly I logged in using my personal Microsoft account after using my work email to get the first email. Not sure if it is how it's supposed to work.

  • Perfect OP, it worked like a charm - had to scroll down to get away from O365

  • Coincidentally I was looking at this yesterday as I remember some one saying that 365 would replace the 2019 which in my case it had. The 2019 link redirects to 365 after selecting Australia as the location.
Selecting America however still gives you 2019. I used an American address from fakeaddressgenerator.com and was still able to get it (as it's a digital download).
Although it was $15 US unfortunately.

    • Where to select America, i can only see language English Australia if i click and update to English (United states) i still dont see $15US

    • when you select America and input email, doesn't it prompt you for "organization's program code"?

      HUP org code screenshot

  • Worked for me. Great deal!

  • Nice one.

Also Visio Professional 2019 ($26.84) and Project Professional 2019 ($27.20) are available, which are awesome deals for those that need them.

These are not standard, only if your organization's HUP offers it.
Not every HUP program has access to that..

    • 900 something for me on Visio.. :( Damn..

  • have the same problem:"We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found." please help, what went wrong?

  • Got a "We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found." as well. Did it get ozbargained?

  • No good for me - O2K19 link at the bottom of the page once logged into personal account is dead.

OP it all depends on your employer whether your individual email address is suitable:

  • Anyone knows the difference with 2016 version ?

    • Very little

    • The icons are more modern.

  • Thank you. It worked. Made payment and received product key. Now have wait till get home and install on my PC.

  • Possible "targeted" workaround

Spam clicked the "get started" button with my personal Gmail email entered (which is linked to my Microsoft account), got an email <1min later.
Logged in, Prices showing as AU$90.30/year incl. GST for Office 365 Home and AU$69.30/year incl. GST Office 365 Personal.

The account is not a business account, it's a personal Gmail and Microsoft account

    • Yes I think any email gives "congratulations you are eligible" but not sure if anything but valid HUP business emails will get access to office 2019.

    • Did exactly that (with free outlook address), and got the same offer… along with:

      AU$21.72
      Office Professional Plus 2019
      • One-time purchase for 1 device
      • Classic 2019 versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access
      • Install on 1 PC
      • Microsoft support included for 60 days at no extra cost
      • Licensed for home and commercial use

AWESOME. Reddit (and all related) dodgy-source keys can PO. Dirt cheap, and legit! Awesome. Been using free Office365 via free outlook email address. But it turns-out it's a gimped version, and I needed 2019 install to use templates I bought.

  • Nob question, when we need to use the SB or CR to get the cashback as we need to click to the link provided by Microsoft?

    • I added it to the cart on the website then finished the transaction off via the SB/CR app.

      • Generally we should not add anything to cart prior right?

        • I think so. I thought nothing to lose so I tried it. Was surprised when it was tracked.

I tried both links for Office Professional Plus 2019 and Office Home and Business 2019 for Mac

the page doesn't seem to exist, as if it's a dead link.

is the offer still valid? has anyone got an alternative method?

    • yes.. bought ~20mins ago

      • huh.. i tried the pages with different emails and still the page doesn't exist or can't be requested. vpn not even on, not sure what to say

        • I used the above link & use by corp email… & few mins got below mail..

          Hello XXXX,

Congratulations! You’re eligible for the Microsoft Home Use Program through XXXXX. We’re excited to provide you with preferred discounts on Microsoft products.

Here is a link to access your special offers from Microsoft. You can return to your account at any time, from any computer by clicking on the link below and signing in with your personal Microsoft account.

          Login in to start saving

& follow the instruction as OP

          • @chutibuti: 3.If eligible, you’ll be invited to make payment

up to this point, i'm not sure about being invited to make a payment, but i have the pages about the offers available.

as said before, when i tried to click the links for Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019, the page literally says We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found.
The URL may be misspelled or the page you're looking for is no longer available.

            • @dom01374: Start over and do it fresh from the link in your work email.

Refreshing in the web browser seems to cause the URL cannot be found result.

              • @justtoreply: i think i'm gonna have to drop this, 3 different browsers, adblock and vpn all turned off and still not getting the page.

sad because i really wanted office at a price as good as this D:

  • Excellent. Thanks OP. Worked for me just then - previously I'd needed to get the special code from my company, and that seemed to be impossible. This worked straight away. As an extra bonus, the Project and Visio licenses are incredibly cheap.

  • Possibly sily question, but will this stop functioning if I change jobs?

    • nooo it's personal KEY

    • +2

I won't stop working but according to the EULA if you stop working for the company technically you are not meant to use it any more.

  • +2

you can use literally any email address to validate - my hotmail, gmail, icloud and work email all received a verification email, and all will successfully click through to the purchase page for the yearly subscriptions.

the inability to purchase the cheap 2019 pro-plus licence is based on if the account belongs to a domain/business that is registered with microsoft and is paying for 2019 Professional Plus.

my employer only uses office 365, not professional plus. its the same case with my other accounts - as they are not registered with MS as using a pro-plus 2019 licence, its ineligible.. That is why the link takes you to a 'sorry' page - its confirmed you are not eligible for the purchase and turned you away.

it could be more specific instead of just saying the page isnt there, but thems the breaks.

    • My account is outlook, very normal account.
and I'm not employed, I can pay normally.

    • You're almost right.

Waiting too long and refreshing the pages seems to kill it too. I'm eligible and had the not found issue after waiting too long. Went back to square one from my work email and checked out quickly and it was all good.

  • For those who are not qualified for this promo but work for universities. Try Microsoft On the Hub, you may be able to get the same for AUD$34.95.

  • +1

Signed up and it only gave a small discount for 365, no full versions.

    Office 365 Home
    AU$129.00
    Now
    AU$90.30 per year incl. GST

    Office 365 Personal
    AU$99.00
    Now
    AU$69.30 per year incl. GST

    • Try scrolling down the page, you should see options for Office 2019.

  • Thanks OP, I got one.

  • if i input an email whilst selecting United States, an additional field asking for "organization's program code" appears. what's the dealio?

  • Thanks OP, works beautifully. Office 2019 for Mac now installed

  • +1

Thanks. Worked with my personal outlook account and not on my work account (despite getting that link, but it goes to a dead URL).

    WEird.

  • +1

Worked for me too … but only after i created a personal MS account!

  • +2

Unfortunately it does not seem to work any longer. When I click to "Home and Business 2019 for Mac" or "Office Professional Plus 2019" it now tells me that this page does not exist any longer.

    • I just tried few mins ago, still works.

  • Im wondering how this offer is different to the Office Pro Plus 2019 keys that you can buy on Ebay for $15, is the MS download link an Image file? .img

  • I never purchased personal office license through HUP.
I thought Office365 can be installed on multiple devices (work + home computers)

Any reason why people buying these personal licenses?

  • Great deal. Just purchased.
    Thanks!

  • Is this a legit link and offer? Not having heard of this before. My old school tech guy in the office thought it could be spam or the like and to delete it. The email was from @microsoft.com.

    • +1

Depends. If you've randomly received and email from Microsoft with an offer, maybe not legit.
If you've visited the HUP program page and checked if your work email is valid then most likely ok.
The emails I got were from: Microsoft HUP <[email protected]>
But I got mine from the American site in order to get 2019.

But note this is only available if your company has an enterprise licence agreement with Microsoft and they make it available to you.

  • Can I reinstall this if I do a fresh install of Windows?

    • Yes, if you keep the original email with the download link (or the downloader from the link) & your key.
The download link only downloads a small downloader/installer. That then downloads and install office.
I've used a 2016 version downloader on a rebuilt PC without issue.

      • Don't use the email link at all, that crappy online installer downloads and installs all suite products on the fly.

Just download the ODT, customise your own XML to only install components you want, with the serial embedded (which auto activates and disables sign-in option), then dump the offline installer package on a share drive for future use.

        Much tidier.

        • Mate where do I get the offline installer for this HUP discounted version?

          • +1

@neonlight: Go through this guide, has download link to ODT tool which lets you build the offline installer with the components you want :)
            https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/office2019/dep…

            Here's how I did it…

Edit XML to add your serial to PIDKEY and customise the excludes you want, remove any of the Exclude lines if you want them installed.

            My XML:
<!— Office 365 client configuration file sample. To be used for Office 365 ProPlus apps,
Office 365 Business apps, Project Pro for Office 365 and Visio Pro for Office 365.

For detailed information regarding configuration options visit: http://aka.ms/ODT.
To use the configuration file be sure to remove the comments

The following sample allows you to download and install the 64 bit version of the Office 365 ProPlus apps
and Visio Pro for Office 365 directly from the Office CDN using the Monthly Channel
             settings  -->

            <Configuration>

            <Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="Broad">
            <Product ID="ProPlusRetail" PIDKEY="XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX" >

            Install:
            setup.exe /configure configuration-OfficeProPlus2019-x64.xml

            • @[Deactivated]: WOW nice work. Thanks mate. I knew about XML you can customise installation but did not know you can put in your own key and get the version as OP posted under HUP.

I thought you have use the online installer.

Question is if you ever switch PC can you deactivate the old copy on your old PC, then install again on the new machine using this offline installer?

Also I don't think ProPlus includes Visio right?

              • @neonlight:

Question is if you ever switch PC can you deactivate the old copy on your old PC, then install again on the new machine using this offline installer?

Not sure haven't tried this yet, I think its tied to hardware but jv said he's done it before.
It's probably not meant to work but does…

Also I don't think ProPlus includes Visio right?

Yeah Visio and Project definitely not included.

At the time the online OCT tool wasn't available so I manually created my XML and just threw all the available product IDs in there anyway.
I totally missed the opportunity through my HUP to get Visio and Project for ~$20, now showing as hundreds.

Either way you'd need to build a separate installer if you have keys for them.

  • It doesn't work for me despite receiving a congratulation and can go to the page and clicked the orange box.

Clicking the orange box yielded an error 404.

And the US version of HUP will go into Office365 on 1 July 2019. I also couldn't get it through that site due to asking for program code.

"Update 25 April 2019: US Air Force my.af.mil reports:

Microsoft will be phasing out the traditional HUP website on 30 Jun 19.

Starting 1 Jul 19, new purchases for the Office suite must purchase an O365 Home and Office cloud subscription. Office 2019 Professional Plus for PC and Office Home and Business 2019 for MacOS are now available through HUP."

  • Any outlook.com email address seems to work. Didn't use the work emails at all.
Used 2 addresses to get 2 keys

  • Thanks OP. Finally got my copy.

However it's only for one machine gonna leave it until new laptop comes in

  • I discovered only IE works not chrome or firefox

  • +3

    Thanks for that!

Tried outlook.com email address (created just now), entered it, got email.
Clicked on the link and got a message "The Microsoft account you’ve used does not match our records. Please re-enter your information and try again."
    Got another email.

Clicked on the link and opened a page with no errors. Shows 30% on Office 365 subscriptions.

Scrolled down to "Other Office products".

Clicked on "Office Home and Business 2019 for Mac" and got $20.93.

    Cheers!

    P.S.
Tried this with my working email address; when I clicked on "Office Home and Business 2019 for Mac" I got an error this page does not exists.
Chatted with support and got response "…our HUP products are now available for Office 365 subscriptions only as they are being migrated to the modern platform and our Perpetual licenses would be gone."

  • What about the ones on eBay for $10-$20? I'm not sure how they do it. Presumably they are legit?

    • If its Pro Plus - they are ONLY available via HUP program if the key is retail channel.

A dodgy administrator or one with access to a work domain that qualifies for it may be trying to make a quick buck.

There's no such thing as a counterfeit pro plus key that will activate, just obtained against ToS (which is supposed to be bought while you're working at an eligible company and not supposed to resell)

  • Thanks OP, managed to get one for Windows and MAC :-)

  • My Office Professional Plus 2019 sub cost me $21.72

  • I tracked my purchase through Shopback and just had $7 cashback confirmed!

  • Thanks OP - I had HUP before and purchased a non sub version but have multiple devices and OS's now. I tried going through my works original HUP link and it didn't work but this one does (Office 365 Home 30% off).

I went through Cash rewards and it registered the click but need to see if I actually get anything back ($5)

  • Does this still work for anyone?

  • wish i had known about it also being available for free to some students at https://onthehub.com before buying here :(

  • +1

Office 2019 products have been discontinued on HUP. :/
