Any M2 form factor deals for the 860?

  • I wonder if it can claim the samsung cashback successfully, normally I wouldn't get a proper receipt from the seller, only ebay email.

I just put through my claim from FUTU for the last deal just after midnight on May 1, and it was approved. I received an email that it will take up to 28 days for the money to be transferred.

Be aware that you'll have to take a photo of the SSD showing the serial number, so do that before you install it. (I had to pull the drive out of the laptop I had installed it in to do it). The serial number stamped on the box was incomplete (14 alphanumeric, not 15), but it was correct/valid on the drive itself.

And yes FUTU emailed a receipt, but when you put in the claim in the dropdown you'll have to pick K.S. COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY or K.S. COMPUTER SOLUTIONS or something like that (can't remember the exact wording - didn't exactly match the invoice) when you're prompted because FUTU doesn't appear. FUTU is their trading name K.S. COMPUTER is the company name. You also have to upload the receipt.

The other thing is you need to create a Samsung "redemption account" which isn't the same as your normal Samsung account. The whole thing was convoluted and annoying but I'm not throwing away $22.

The whole thing was convoluted and annoying

        That's intentional.

        • +1

          Yes I'm aware of that.

      • Oh man, I'm gonna have to do the same and pull out the ssd from my laptop. Thanks for the info.

        • No worries.

bummer i just installed mine last night without taking a photo.
Such hassle for me to remove it from my case.

  • Do you guys have a go to / reliable SSD enclosure for such SSDs?

  • Guys, what is the difference between this drive and the QVO drive which is even cheaper for the same capacity.

  • Offer valid on participating Samsung SSDs purchased from Participating Resellers which is not include futu online

    Cheap. I paid $205 for a 500GB EVO 860 12 months ago.

There’s still stock if you go via the multi-listing https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-SSD-860-EVO-QVO-250GB-50…

Also, is there an easy way to share eBay links that automatically strips all the tracking/affiliate data?
