    wtf?

    I'm resisting…..just

  • Nopes…it is 154 without gift card. 250 - 50 (PRITZEL 20%) - 45 cashback - 154

    • +1

      Base price is $259

      $259 * 0.8 (PRIZER 20%) = $207.20 - $45 Cashback = $162.20

it is 249 at shopping express…

        • Don't know why this got downvoted. Please be advised everyone futu and shopping express is the same people, buy from shopping express.

Can we claim cash back if purchased through ebay. I was told no on online chat. I have emailed samsung and am waiting response

    • As long as you get a tax invoice from Futu and they are eligible

      • I said the online chat person the same and he said no. I said eBay is market place and many of the participating resellers do sell on ebay and that's when he suggested I send an email.
The 2tb 970 evo deal from computer alliance was great with ebay 10% off and cashback

    • I claimed other redemption offers from ebay drives.

Futu not in the list of participating resellers, does that matter?

Guys, all theses questions were made and answered here - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/418696?

    A great find OP.
I feel that in the near future HDD will be absolete and SSD will be even cheaper. The price of chip keeps falling as the the manufacturing process becomes more cheap. So HDD will not be needed. HDDs heading the Floppy way.

    • when SSD start getting 10TB or more etc
      then yes

for now hdd still king for storage

      • -1

yes you are right. But tech is changing so fast that by the time 10TB SSDs are available there will be something new with AI.

        • Why the hell would I need AI in my storage device though?

Why not just order from shopping-express-clearance and sign up with the 90 day eBay Plus trial which you can use even if you've had a trial before, which is $199.20 after the PRIZER code?

The cashback will not work, and we can't find out in advance since these usually take about a month to process.

Samsung have said no, and they are not listed as a participating reseller.

    • They are listed and the rep has confirmed it as seen here

      • +1

The rep confirmed it specifically for Shopping Express, everyone is assuming Futu is included by association but it's extra risk. Better to just go with SE direct.

      • Futu is not listed, as such I'm sure Samsung will happily reject your tax invoice that does not mention K.S COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY [ABN 59 074 527 763] anywhere on it.

        Futu's ABN is 83 095 108 777, which is not listed as participating. ( https://abr.business.gov.au/ABN/View?id=83095108777 )

If anyone here has an invoice from this sale which lists a participating ABN, please let me know.

Invoices listing Shopping Express are valid, yes, but I fail to see how that's related even if they are owned by the same parent company or are part of the same organisation, as they operate under two ABN's and will not be issuing you convenient tax invoices to let you claim the cashback.

I'd be staying well away till I see Samsung confirm who is eligible.

Samsung QVO QLC drives in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB are due in December. The 2TB and 4TB are expected to be good (better) value despite some potential performance quirks. Just parroting what I read online, of course.

    • I had a good read of the anandtech review:
      https://www.anandtech.com/show/13633/the-samsung-860-qvo-ssd…

tldr: Evo is better quality and faster than the qvo and because it is a new product, the 1gb Evo is still cheaper than the new qvo. Qvo is only cheaper when hitting 2 or 4 terabyte models, though still note their lifespan is shorter than the Evo's though perfectly fine for the average user

    • They are expected to be cheaper as they will form a new line of lower end drives.

  • Long time lurker, first time poster.

I jumped the gun and ordered from Futu and got a bit worried after reading all this. Rung Samsung promo support and they couldn't confirm whether or not order from Futu will be eligible for cashback and said I'd have to email them details of the seller for them to check and confirm (which could take a few days). I've been messaging Futu back and forth on eBay regarding the situation and David that's been answering my messages reassured me that it will be eligible with the invoice and selecting KS Computer as participating reseller on the cashback page. Actually went as far as to say if I have any issues with getting the cashback let him know and he'll sort it out for me.

So I'm going to try to be optimistic and assume it will all work out ok.

  • Not a bad deal for a pretty good SSD

  • HEY GUYS CHEAPER FROM THEIR OTHER STORE SHOPPING EXPRESS
